  1. Well since you say you are cutitng at Catherby I assume you are a member. Fastest exp would likely be ivy with a D axe. Appearantly that is in the range of 60+k exp per hour. If you are looking for profit, I think teaks are good exp with profit, or is it mahogany....hmmm....
  2. People are getting far too arbitrary. Like, 'kill crop without brews or rocktails'. These should be hard but general. My thoughts are: -Gain 1500+ total levels as a DIYer. (Someone in 'rate this' a few months back was a DIYer. Never traded or used the GE once. The value of the junk in their bank was alot. Imagine never selling anything you got from clue scrolls.) -Do all of your clue scrolls without guides. (Alot of those angrams are crazy hard). -Do all of your quests without guides. -Own every discontinued item. -Kill at least 1 of every type of monster in the game.
  3. Merry Christmas to everyone who celebrates! Time for me to go spend Christmas Eve with the annual family board games day! As for 2010, I am really looking forward to the new skill. I heard people say early 2010, how early? New years day?
  4. We have gone over this too many times in the topic but here is it in a nutshell. People use junk that they have in their bank to boost their side of the trade. Junk is an item that has a lower street value then the GE price. Take unstrung willow bows for example. They have a GE price of 32 but no one wants to buy them. The street value of them is pretty much nothing. So if someone is fletching and they have 10k (u) bows they can use them to boost their side of the trade. People also trade these high street value items for rising or other item that are higher on the street then the GE. Yes, santas dropped 1.3M last update. I just bought 2 for min price (29.995M). On the RSOF people are offering santa + mint for pure cash.
  5. This is actually a great idea... Did you suggest this to Jagex yet? I think that it would be a nice idea, except that EVERY pure and pker would then desire 99 cooking. That would make raw food soar sky high.
  6. It was quite unnecessary. Honestly it disgusts me looking at the RSOF responses. Members are using the "no P2P on F2P" argument to hide the truly snobbish and selfish personalities that they possess. I feel ashamed to have actually posted on there regularly with the lack of holiday spirit I'm seeing now. Jagex really needs to stop allowing this... :shame: Looking at Jagex' FAQ answers, they seem to think the same... They have a point though, why would f2p wear something that is p2p? It brings no benefits in f2p and i don't see why complain about something you should not be wearing... Because it's a way to show off our skills and look unique in F2P. Not everything is about stat benefits. I didn't like having to remove my P2P robes, boots, etc but I can see why I had to wear the ghost robes. But forcing us to remove the cape because its not 'ghostly' enough is just cruel. Especially after Jagex scrapped their plans to allow F2P to buy skill capes. F2P need to spend more time and money skilling to get high levels and we don't get anything to show for it. I know....I know....we don't pay, but still when skills cost 3x as much and are 5x slower I think we should get something. It took me just as long to get 75 rc in F2P as it would have taken to get 99 in P2P.
  7. I would say it is worth it. When you are done mining you can evan sell it back for probably the same price. So it's a free 15% speed.
  8. Very nice mate. 10/10 for sure. Good luck with whatever you do now. PS-> you still haven't come to show me the emote yet
  9. Very nice pictures by everyone on that list. Are any of them tipiter? The winner's was nice, but fairly cluttered. But hey, that's what Christmas is like in my house
  10. Here is a link to the original Devoloper Blog by Mod Hohbein where he discussed the changes to moderators. http://services.runescape.com/m=devblog/view_post.ws?post_id=20&page=3 And here is the QFC for the topic "Are you community foccused?" where players can volunteer to be considered by Jagex to become a moderator. 103-104-0-59341959 EDIT: The article was edited to remove Water's name. But what I will say is RSW44 he merely mentions Water's name as an example of Jagex's recent push towards offering Mod status to maxed players. I didn't see any reference to him being a bad P mod or a bad person. It is nice sometimes to get an outsiders view. I had actually considered writing an article much like this except my writing skills are not exactly up to par. He presented the facts well and then gave us his opinion on them. If you want to write an article talking about the other side, I would actually love to read it. I find these sorts of topics to be interesting and it's nice to see both sides of it.
  11. they ARE considered rare as a reward. Despite the rumors saying that they're easy to get is false. you mostly get around 2-3 cakes of playing the minigame continuously per day. I don't think that when people say they are 'not rare' they mean like something you can get any time, any where. What most people mean by not rare is that despite the high price they are regularily coming into the game and, like you said, you can get 2-3 per day. From what I can see this super inflated price is being pushed by stakers who are using this as a way to get around the limit. So anyone with mints, beware. As soon as mints go above the staking limit on the GE, they will take a serious blow. I don't know if it will be a minor crash back to 2-3M which they were at not too long ago, or a total crash. But there will be some implications of higher GE price. Using the staking limits, and an average rise of 4% per day, here are my estimates on when mints will hit specific staking limits. •270+ qp: 60,000 gp----28 Days •225 qp: 50,480gp-------23 Days •200 qp: 45,192gp-------20 Days •150 qp: 34,615gp-------12 Days •100 qp: 24,038gp------- 3 Days So, my estimates put a 1 month max on mints being at a very elivated price. Even though most mints are not in the hands of stakers, the lower demand from stakers, stakers selling off their stocks, and of couse the stead stream on mints coming in from players trying to capitalize on this money maker will be enough to put a large dent in the street price. EDIT: Appearantly mints are approaching 7M right now. I never knew that people were stupid enough to pay that much for them...
  12. [hide] Opposite order that they are frozen in. Tiny Thom is always the last one that you save. [/hide] Dang, i'm going to have to do some trial and error to break this curse. When ever you fail it replays the sequence.

  14. Ah, so I get to keep all of the items that I have already accidently removed. Just FANTASTIC! Thanks for the help.
  15. Hey, I have been a nonmember for 2 years but still have member items weilded. In order to do the Christmas event, do I need to remove all of my weilded items? Or are there some that I can keep on?
  16. Junk isn't really worth trying to get. It is best to just 'come across it' in your normal 'scaping. LIke said before, if you get addy p++ arrows from GWD, they make good junk. Or if you are training fletching the (u) bows are nice junk. But these are too slow if you are trying to just build up junk. Why bother making 200k worth of junk per hour when you can make 400k an hour doing something else? The best way to get junk is to keep all of your worthless byproducts of skilling until they ammount to something. Other people 'create' junk by buying out an item from the GE making it rise. Then when the item inevitably crashes they use those items at the elevated price as junk. Junk isn't really worth bothering to get for an average runescaper. I would say either hold onto that hook and wait for it to rise in the ge, or sell it to a friend who has a lot of junk they need to get rid of. Then just force them to do favours for you, or buy junk off of you in the future if you ever get any.
  17. Can anyone else confirm this? Because it seems like a dirty move on Jagex's part, especially after they scrapped their plans to make skill capes re-weildable on F2P. This seriously ticks me off. Last year was my glory ammy, I could accept that. But 2 years in a row, and this being such a key item removed....
  18. Ever since Jagex did a 'reworking' of the P mod structure, we have been told that we are supposed to only report when absolutly necissary and rather then just reporting any rule breakers we see we are supposed to 'work with that player to find a way to resolve the issue'. It helps the community a bit more then simply banning anyone in sight who breaks a rule.
  19. Being a player mod myself for just over 3 years I must say I have seen a decline in the quality of mods. When I was first asked it seemed that Jagex only took the most mature and the brightest 'scapers (not saying I am, or was, either). At that time, Jagex was adding mods at a fairly constant rate. The thing is though, that the player base rose far faster then the number of mods [insert "Miniclip" reference here]. After years of the players rising far faster then the mods Jagex realised that they needed to pick up the pace otherwise the ratio of mods to players would reach a critical level. So, to keep up with 'demand' they resorted to lowering their standards. Instead of looking for the most mature and well mannered players, they look now for the type of people who hold little races or sit in Varrock center and chat. Even though these people are generally nice enough to talk to, very few of them know what to do with such responsibilities. I know one such person. He became a P mod a few months ago. Even though he is a very nice person and a fairly decent mod in terms of when and what to report for, he still acts like a child. When people ask him for money he replies with 'No make it yourself'. Even though this is fine and dandy for a normal player, people expect more from P mods. When I tell people no, I prefer to give them some advice on how to make money or even take them to an ore mine. Granted, Jagex has come leaps and bounds from when they first started asking people. From what I can remember, Jagex never offered me any sort of training when they invited me. They simply had a FAQ's forum where I could read about the general mod guidlines. When I was given the invite, I got the crown within a few minutes. Nowadays P mods must go through months of training and scrutiny from Jagex. But most of this is looking at players abilities to make good reports when necessary and not looking into a players personality and see what type of influence they are having on players in normal in-game situations.
  20. Yeah, they passed them very shortly after the buyout happened. I doubt that they will ever switch. They are more or less in order of rarity right now. The top 3 are definitly in the right order. I am not too sure about the lower ones. Purples are quite common so I'd say that they are always going to be at the bottom. The only thing I am not sure about is green and yellow. I still think that green is more rare then yellow (I see yellow 10x as much as green, unless I'm seeing the same person over and over). The only way that I see this order switching is that a clan targets one specific hat and dumps all of thier other coloured hats, which is VERY unlikely.
  21. With 40M all you can really afford is Blue and Green H'weens and Santa Hats. As for what you should invest in, that is hard. I suppose H'weens will rise a couple more times before crashing but I doubt it will be long. So you could try to buy one now and sell in 1-2 days. As for santa hats, it's kinda up in the air right now. They have fallen ~250k for 3 days now I kinda suspect that the hoarders are slowly selling them off rather then a straight dump like it was in the years before. From here it could either fall another 2-3M if an actual crash comes, or they will shoot right back up now. To be honest, if you only have 40M I don't know if you should be puting all of your eggs in one basket so to speak. If you have no use for that money for the next month or two, then it is fine because rares rise over time. But if you need money in the forseeable future, then a crash would really hurt you and it wouldn't be worth it.
  22. From the Tipit Items Database: "Bought in food stores. In Draynor, there is a cheese spawn by the witch. You can also find a cheese spawn in the wilderness bandit camp. Cheese can be bought from Culinaromancer's Chest. Found in any POH teak larder. Churn butter into cheese using a dairy churn. " I am not sure if there are any other food stores in F2P except for the Port Sarim one.
  23. Who's to say that Runescape's eastern lands are the same as Earth's east? Although, looking at the map now it looks vaguely like Earth.
  24. I don`t think most people have a problem with people who merchant rares. The problem I (and several others I have talked to) have, is people who buy large numbers of rares for the sole sake of sticking them in their banks for years. It`s one thing to buy and sell at optimum times, but it`s a whole other thing to buy and just hoard them for all eternity. Off topic - I bought 67k power ammys for flipping and I saw that the were going up steeper then normal. So I realised a clan was merching them. I dumped them thinking that I would take down the clan, then buy up the ammys again after the panic (did this to Be Mercher in the summer). Turns out it`s a very strong buyout and I hardly made a dent. I made 7M when I dumped and if I would have dumped now I would have made over 50M. For someone who has only ever lost money on 3 merches in my life I have terrible luck...
  25. I have heard rumours of a certain group af players that each have well over 200 pumpkins each. So They aren't rarer then crackers, they were just alot easier to buy out when they were considered junk.
