Smithing
Either make iron plate like DMT said, or you could try smelting steel bars. It will be slower, but you will make a profit.

Mint cake
This has been there since the good ol' days of RS1. I remember logging on at school and seeing right click options like Follow: Null. For a while I thought it was a glitcher who could be invisible and told all my friends to come see the cool guy named Null....ah the good ol days of being a young ignorant child. Oh, and what Pinkbullet said.

MMG, the great face of Jagex?
I don't know if it's a typo or whatever, but he is Mod MMG. The MMG stands for Mark Michael Gerhard.

MMG, the great face of Jagex?
This Q&A was not about telling us about the new updates coming out, rather it was focused on Jagex as a business and where they are heading.

MMG, the great face of Jagex?
He was refering to Geoff Iddison. And one of the first things that I heard of MMG doing once he was settled in was to open his CC. He has made a point of trying to get in better contact with the player base which is fantastic. IMO Geoff was too secluded from the actual ingame aspect to his job. When MMG came in the rants forum was full of people demanding that Jagex can MMG and get Andrew back as CEO. Almost no one knew who Geoff was. I don't know how good Geoff was in terms of the business of it, but in terms of community managment, he was downright lousy.

MMG, the great face of Jagex?
You too? I find MMG to be much like Presidant Obama. He seems to follow the "shoot for Mars, end up on the moon" ideaology. He is fantastic speaker in terms of having good ideas and having the alibity to put them into words that will convince most anyone that it is a good idea. But when it comes to implimenting them, it's not quite as big as he says. I really like him, and find him a great improvement from Geoff but some times he says things like 'Runescape will become the worlds largest MMO'. These types of dreams are nice to have but as for them actually happening.... Either way, as long as we keep getting quality updates and continued communication with Jagex, I will be a happy member of this community. PS -> I really like that he has an open CC and the fact that he visits it on occasion. I have never heard of Geoff ever coming ingame to talk to players and MMG has done quite a bit of that.

Subtle References
This is why Jagex have such great storylines, such in depth lore, and best of all, these quirky references. They take writers and artists and teach them how to transfer that creativity into the game. Truly genious in my opinion.

Fun Moneymakers
You should try looking at those guides in the Archive of Wisdom on how to make 500k+ in 10 minutes. It is slightly tedious, but it is very short in terms of time. If you do that once per day on top of your normal money making, it will add up fast. Also, if you are doing something that you normally wouldn't have a familiar out, try a magpie. Gems are crazy high now and you can easily make 50-100K/hour just having the magpie follow you around.

Jagex Financial Report 2008-09
Prices haven't gone up have they? O_o At least through traditional debit/credit card it hasn't changed from £3.50. Maybe with other payment methods it has, but that probably has more to do with the third party supplier of that method. I know that here in Canada the price of membership via Credit card went up from $5.00 to $5.95 a couple of years ago (at least it feels that long).

Jagex Financial Report 2008-09
Thanks for posting this Ren. It wasn't long ago that I had to search for quite a while when a player ingame asked me about how much of Jagex is owned by the Gowers'. It's nice to see that the Gowers' still own a majority in the company. I suspect they will try to keep that as long as they can in order to maintain controll of the company's direction. I am assuming this is War of Legends? For a second my heart skipped a beat and thought it was the new skill, but the 'rapid development' part kinda gives it away as WoL. It will be neat to see what sort of turnovers Jagex gets from WoL. Always useful info. Thank you.

Strange power
Are you referring to the guy in the chair? That's Jack O'Niall, he was a retired white knight who left after Slug Menace, before Kennith's Concern. He was taken control of by the sea slugs and fled town. The White Knights have issued an order to kill him on sight. Sea slugs took control of him before and now he's missing? This combined with Mod Mark H's use of words for his angram makes this look like the most likely answer. He was being controlled in slug menace and like most of the people under the slugs control, disappeared after the quest. There is nothing to make us suspect that is up next. Oh, sorry, I gathered from his post that him being missing was a recent event.

I understand Jagex have the right to release an update whenever they want, but im thinking about it. The quest that just came out was a grandmaster quest, obviously took along time doing all the concept ideas for it, writing the plot, actually creating it etc.. The chance they could have wrote another huge quest, designed it and created it within a few weeks is very low. even if they did do it in that short amount of time, the amount of bugs that will come out of it, mistakes, bad programming will be high since that lack of time to create this quest. I find it highly unlikley they will create multiple quests at one time, and release the grandmaster quest first. That's what I think on the whole quest side of things. Or perhaps, they created one super huge quest and decided to release it as two rather then one. Kind of like when TV shows create 2 part episodes. They don't make one episode, release it, then go make the second part. They make the two as if they were one, then split it, and release it as two. Also, somewhere I saw a reference to "The essence of life". You could take that as meaning one's soul. And we all know that the Nomad was working on a 'soul alter' to capture the souls from players. Could it be that he has succeeded in finishing his machine?

No, it has only happened once so far. 7:45 (19:45) GMT Saturday

So, Zaros ignores the edict and directly effects Gielinor in a new quest that leads to a soul alter that harvests the souls of dead adventurers and monsters. Then, in mid-2010 we get a new class of quest called SUPER-Grandmaster. This quest is named 'When Guthix Awakes' and is one long cutscene of Guthix kicking the crap out of Zaros. Then we walk in and pick up Zaros' armour from the body. We use the helm as a full body shield (it's so big it can hold a person) that has +1000 defence but you can't move or attack.

It was just a message to PMods saying that it was not a glitch and was fully intended in case anyone asks us or claims it was a glitch.

Open Door -> release all of that water. Depending on the size of the room it could either flood the GWD or make our socks slightly damp.

the altars are unrelated, den uslynge confirmed. the witchaven villagers are always ranting about stuff and this is also probably unrelated. If they are always ranting about things then they must have a number of sayings that they switch through everytime you speak to them. So, if someone else goes there now and they say the same thing to all players at the same time (or all the time) then it must be right.

To me that just looks like someone was wielding an ancient staff when it happened.

Darkness -> evil. So perhaps an evil god. I'm no good at lore, what are the evil gods and which one could this be? Oh, and Peterpan, you should have taken the pic half a second later, I made a 2012 comment on the next line after Trim My Scim

Earthquakes lead to movement of earth. What happens when earth moves? Sai....oh wait, no not that.... Is there any lore out there about great earthquakes in Gielinor's past? Isn't that how we found the God Wars dungeon? Or, it could be a teaser into the new skill. Perhaps archology? Earthquake moves earth around -> new fossils etc exposed. It's hard to tell exactly what it was based on a picture. Can you describe more of what happened? And is this a one time event or has there been more?

WoL General Discussion
So, does anyone know how long it will take for the beta phase to end? Also, we should consolodate now and come to a definitive agreement on where we are going to be situated as a clan. And what server, etc.

WoL General Discussion
Well, it is still a beta. It's not like Jagex would realease a beta and then just neglect it for many months.....*cough* GE database *cough*
