When do we get a REAL update?
I for one enjoy most of those things you say aren't "real" updates. I don't like monster hunting, yet don't say that GWD wasn't a real update. Also, I think Jagex is trying to be stratigic in their update placements. Rather then pump them all out ASAP they're trying to set them up for maximum impact both ingame, and in their wallets. They said they wanted to add the new skill midyear so that people could train it durring the summer. I also think that they'll add something very substantial arround Sept/Oct when their membership numbers historicly fall due to school. Even though I like most recent updates, I agree that they haven't been as epic as they claimed this year would be. But then again, we're only 1/4 through the year and have plenty of time left for epic updates.

Egg-streme Management (Easter 2010)
As far as I know, they don't take 6 months to make, but they do start 6 months before the update. Like they said in the recent DevBlog by Mod Raven, with time sensitive projects, it's best to start early and work at a decent pace then start a week before and have to rush it... sounds like me writing an essay, started a week ago, have 4 pages done, and due tomorrow with 4 pages to go. Guess I'm doing an all-nighter.

Egg-streme Management (Easter 2010)
Okay, it's time to stop bashing religion and start talking about the actual event. OT: Is there somewhere I can get a miniguide for this? I am crammed with school work for the next couple weeks and don't really have much time for this event (that, plus I'm too lazy to figure it out myself).

Staff of Light
I don't know the speed but it's crashing because a) all the hoarders and manipulators dumped their stocks. When an item comes out, everyone buys as many of the item that they can in hopes it will just keep going up and up. And as we all know what goes up, must come down. b ) Jagex gave people the ability to get the Icewyrm task even without a fire cape. Plus, you've been here for over a year and still don't know that there is a Help & Advice forum....anyway, next time you have a question post it there and it will usually be answered faster then a mod can say "Wrong forum, moved` EDIT: Looking through your profile, and my memory, it seems to me that you don`t ever post in the H&A forum even when you have multiple times been told to post your topics there. Please, take the extra 1 second and click Help & Advice when making a thread like this, it saves me the trouble of having to tell you how lazy you are and saves the FMods the trouble of moving it.

The F2P General Discussion Thread
Aren't the Flesh Crawlers in the Catacombs? Flesh crawlers are in the Stronghold of Security which is entered through Barbarian Village. The catacombs are accessed through Lumbidge cemetary. As for the map Pink gave you, I personally trained on the Crawlers in the South East corner because there were no zombies which hit much higher then the crawlers so I could last longer. Not sure if they're worth it, but thats what I used.

Something to ponder
Posting Accout details on the RSOF is as bad as if you posted this in some newspaper distributed into the slums of a city; Yes, RS has jerks but there is no where in the world that this isn't true, especially on the internet. My RL friend got banned so he went to try out WoW and said he loved the game but it had more jerks then RS. Thats just the nature of the beast. The internet provides a fairly annonymous medium to do whatever you want. It seems to me that peoples' real morals are shown when there is no real consequences and the truth of the matter is that people these days just don't have a strong enough moral base to feel they have to act nicely to people just because they're behind a screen.

What is the total level at 5 mil exp?
Nah, I'm more coherant than that when high/drunk/both. I think OP may just really be that illiterate... Yea....F2P are the ones who are immature.... <_< You tryin to say I'm immature just because I smoke weed and drink alcohol? Whatever man, you don't even know me, so why pass judgement? Actually yes I am. And you don't know the OP and yet you passed judgement and don't seem to care. Either way, in my experience, F2P is no worse then P2P.

laggy
You can't expect a decent answer with such little information. But here's the most common reasons I can think of: Old Computer Bad Specs on computer Bad internet connection / carrier Too many programs running at once Could have viruses/spyware/other nasties Logging onto servers far away from you geographicly

Monkey Madness
As far as I know, all you have to do is damage the demon once and the gnomes can finish it off. If you don't damage it, it just heals its self. The demon uses melee and mage, so if you stay out of range of melee all you have to do is get the highest mage def you can. I don't know stats of things, so just look around for the best mage defence you can find. If you're scared of dying, just use welfare gear and food. Full Dhide normal coif antidragonfire shield power ammy rune cbow/msb 10 arrows/bolts (if you plan on actually helping the gnomes you'll want to bring more) 1 super def pot the rest just food.

POLL: How did you first discover Tip.It?
It was so long ago that I can't wuite remember, but I think it was the site that all my friends were using when we played in school. Ah, the good ol day when we would go to the computer lab at lunch and sit in a row and just play RS....man! That was like 6 years ago. Anyway, once I got the internet at home I signed up for TiF and lurked for a while, forgot my password, resigned uo with this name, lurked for a couple more years, mostly only posting in Rate This (probably why my post count is so low). Only recently did I start really posting here in GenDisc.

fm/hr with yews
Yeah, even though that method is faster, it takes a LOT more concentration and practice. What I did from 90-99 was use Varrock tele, then run into the center of the fountain. From there just burn west like normal and you should end up pretty much right beside the bank. I could do arround 1200 logs per hour that way even though it's not any harder then normal lighting. That GE east burning is just too comlicated. The setup for Varrock tele burning is the same as I posted before except you replace 2 tinderboxes or 1 tinderbox + 1 log for fire runes and law runes and equip an air staff.

I had a nice long post written up and hit the back button :wall: Anyway, use the ring and gloves from Beakon Lighting. A familiar isn't really worth it unless you really think the +10 level boost of lave titan is worth it, but after 70+ you'll be 1-clicking the logs anyway. Pyrelord just forces you to move the mouse half way across the screen every log so not worth it. As a setup I used X X X X X O X X X X X X X X O X X X X X X O X X X X X X Where X is a log and O is a tinderbox. You can choose to use 1 or 2, but this method reduces the mouse movements which is nice.

Willow Prices
Unless you cut willows at rimmington... Actually, there isn't that much difference in terms of exp, maybe 25%. I tested out oaks and could make like 100k gp per hour in F2P which is pretty good. As to why willows are so cheap: Ever since MTK people were getting maples for the same price that willows used to be. Maples are better in every way so willows crashed pretty hard but stayed decently valuable because people held onto their maples. Once the GE came out, everyone used the simplicity of it to offload all of their maples which made them crash. Then willows which had a street of 15-20 gp each became worth like 5-10 gp each on the street. I remember buying willows for 10 gp each on W1 and selling them for 22 gp each (the floor price at the time) in the GE. I could double my money every week for the first little while until other people started puting in mass amounts of willows as the trade limits loomed. Then once the trade restrictions hit, everyone was forced to dump their willows onto the GE. I put 100 willow logs onto the GE the day before the trade restrictions took effect and it took over 2 months to sell them all. Thats how many willows were in the market already.

Post and discuss all Jagex Twitter updates here!
Oooooh, I forgot..... because this is the 22nd of the month has anything odd strange, or otherwise interesting happened? That's meant to happene on the 23rd, not the 22nd you big dummy. :P Update tomorrow then.:thumbup: It could also be a 2nd entrance to the castle, where a boat would be. But where would the boat that takes us from that dock leave port at? Port Phays maybe? My thoughts when people started saying there would be a boat there was that it would be an alternative to running through the wilderness to get there for the people who are REALLY scared of spending 10 seconds in the wilderness.

3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
I don't think it applies to furies or ring of stones. Yes, the price is only that high for select onyx jewlery. I'm not entirely sure which ones are not super high but I think Serenes got it right. The reason why onyx's are worth so much is that Jagex changed how Tzhaar shops work so you can no longer sell fire runes to earn Tokkul. That means that you have to kill for all of your tokkul. This combined with the new price of 2.7M tokkul per onyx means that killing to earn an onyx isn't worth it because there are better money makers out there. So there are essentially no new onyx coming into the game. There were enough furys to keep the price under 10M, but they still rose a fair bit because of hoarders just buying up large amounts in hopes the demand for fury's climbs.

Smithing from 70-80
I superheated addy from 70-80 and then I used iron bars -> pl8s for 80-85. It took me a while, but the mage EXP I got from it was well worth it. I'm not sure on exact numbers, but superheat often rivals alching for mage exp with the bonus of smithing exp. If you're going to superheat and are not in a hurry to get the levels, watch the GE charts closly and chose the best time to buy the ores. Doing this I was able to profit quite a bit when superheating. This was pre-inflation however so I'm not sure about current prices. If you are planning on buying the bars, here's how many you'll need and the price (assuming starting exactly at 70 and ending right at 80). 49,923 Iron @ 390 gp each ===19.5M -10000 platebodies @ 200 gp each ======== 17.5M loss 33,282 Steel @ 1k each ===== 33.3M - 6650 platebodies @ 1050 gp each ======= 26.3M loss 24,962 Mithril @ 1600 each === 40.0M - 5000 platebodies @ 3000 gp each ======= 25.0M loss I used the 'stable price' that I forsee you being able to buy / sell at considering the markets are still a bit off after the exp weekend. If you use SC Hammers you can just divide those bars needed, plates made, and losses losses by 2 to figure out for SC tools.

F2P Runecrafting
I got to 75 rc on F2P nearly all with airs. Just using the running to alter and back method I maxed out at 5k exp per hour. Mind you, that was before they introduced the run energy update, musicians, rest, and changed the spot. But using the teletabs from GOP I could max out at 8k exp per hour (including the time to get the tabs) and then teleing to Fally to bank. With the new energy updates, I think you can get 6-7k exp per hour running back and forth to the air alter and back and 8k if you use Varrock Tele to bank. I know someone has written a great guide in the AOW and I`ll try to dig that up for you.

Making Planks
As far as I know, the butler costs the same as normal planking except of course he charges a fee every couple of loads, so it is still cheaper to just do the running yourself.

3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
Hook = 40M Werg (unf) = 10k * 1000 = 10M Uncut Onyx = 70M * 2 = 140M This is just the RSOF price and not necisarily the 'street' price, but it's usually half decent in terms of accuracy.

Dahmaroc?
I guess that confirms that it goes by number of ess crafted rather then how many times you click 'craft runes'. Now I feel silly for dropping full loads of ess and pciking up and crafting them 1 by 1

Shattered Heart Discussion
I hear dancing in front of the portal works  Seriously though, I can't think of anything what would speed it up other then standing faster...Construction is the one that really doesn't matter how many actions you do because you're not doing any. I stood in my house for 1/2 hour for my first one, and over 2h for the second. I tried loggin on and off, entering and leaving my house...everything. I guess you just have to sit there and wait.

15-Mar-10 Lumbridge Catacombs & The Blood Pact
Using total levels, the top 20% are above 1480 total level (assuming we only care about the 2M people on the highscores). Looking at the number 400,000 player, they have 70+ combats skills and 50-60 in all other skills. This is what most of the updates are targeted at imo. If you want to look at the top 10% then you're looking at people with total levels of around 1680 total. These players are arround 80 in combat skills and 50-70 in other skills. Even though these are fairly high, people still won't regard updates targeted at them as 'high leveled'. Now if we go to the top 5%, that's aprox 1840 total. These players are around 90 combat skills and 60-80 in most noncombats. So id you were to make a high leveled update targeted at these players it would need to be combat related. Where I see 'high leveled' updates being truely high levels is the updates targeted at the people who are 2000+ total level. By the time you're looking at 2k+ you're already at the top 38,000 players you're at the top 2% of players and thats just assuming all we care about is the 2M on the high scores, and disregarding the other 8M active accounts under 827 total. Now I don't miss the fact that high leveled updates have been few and far between, but for Jagex to target the top 2% of players it means that they have to devote massive resources to a very small minority. As we all know, low level updates are usually like this, sure they take time to make, but not nearly as much as say a Grandmaster. High level updates are usually larger in scale like the herblore update that brought a whole bunch of new potions where lower updates may have brought 2-3. So while the time between high level updates is longer then pwople may like, when they do come out, they typicly have a lot more substance behind them then the newb updates.
