Quick MTK Question
When I was P2P I just put in 5M at a time and refilled every time it whenever it got close to 750k. The key is to never let it fall below 750k because the workers are paidd 10% of the coffers (up to 75k per day). If you have enough spare GP sitting around in your bank, you might as well put in a large lump so you don't have to bother refilling it any time you go there.

Can I recruit for my merchanting clan in the Recruitment Forum?
There are several types of flipping, but what I do is look for the most stable item I can, then buy med-2.5% and sell for med+2.5%. OT: This so called 'clan investing' is just another name for long term clan manipulation. You don't completely buy out the item, but you're still manipulating the markets through hoarding among a group of players.

Greater Demons - Slayer
It's exactly where the old BH was. Either run north from Varrock, or just use a games necklace (it teles you pretty much right to the entrance). Just use the games minimap to see it.

Greater Demons - Slayer
Wildy volcano isn't too bad and right next to a bank.

77-80 mage
Super heating mith / addy bars. If you get on a roll you can get more mage exp then high alch with the bonus of smithing exp. Just look at the GE to find the prime times to buy and sell and you should be able to make a half decent amount of GP.

All I bother with on the tables is gathering enough stuff so I can get ~1k to get tinderbox, hammer, pick, hatchet, fishing rod, and feathers. Then I get to killing!

Mod Mark H reveal RuneFest item 2010
It is not Jagex that has changed the mood around the event, it's purly player greed. That's just what happens when your target audience is the age that is often refered to as "Generation Me". Truth is, that in this consumeristic age, people have the mentality of "How does this make me happier/better/richer?". People are so obsessed about how they can have more stuff that they're willing to abuse Jagex's generosity. Some times you have to take a step back and look at the situation. Do I think it's a good idea to have an ingame item to commemorate Runefest? Yes I do. Could Jagex have unveiled this better? Yes, for sure. But this is their first time doing anything like this and it was to be expected that something would go wrong. Are the players at fault for this whole fiasco? Yes. Jagex wants to be nice and give a ingame gift to the players who buy the tickets and player greed blows everything up.

Mod Mark H reveal RuneFest item 2010
Oh, this brings back so many memories of the USB security key fiasco. Jagex wants to give a little bonus to people who chose to spend money on this real life party (or in the case of the USB incident, extra security), and people blow it out of proportion. Yes, Jagex is giving an in-game item to people who spend real money, but it's not like they're actually selling the item. The item is just a little gift from them and players are the idiots who chose to abuse it.

Mod Mark H reveal RuneFest item 2010
I seem to recall a J Mod saying that if this one went over quite well they would consider another one in another country. Mind you, since they're English, it would cost them plenty to even take a small number of people to North America. So even if they did one in N.A. I would expect it to cost more and have less epic-ness.

Nature Staff + Law Staff are scams.
Read my post on page 2 as to the GP saved, and my post on page 3 as to the time....seriously, do people not read the whole thread (although, I don't really blame them too much with the off-topic spam in the middle of it)? On that note, why doesn't the thread maker edit the first post with the value I've calculated which are much more accurate? What if boils down to is GP saved alching = [exp to be gained] x [.0369 gp/exp] GP saved super heating = [exp to be gained] x [.140 gp/exp]

Jerk stole my joke! I was gonna make a fake. Any way, short of Hollywood-FBI-grade programs, I doubt it will be worth trying. It just seems too blury.

There is another, more definite schedule right above the center monitor, but it's far too fuzzy to see. Perhaps some techno-geek can fix it up and we'll see what we're getting for the next 9 months

Nature Staff + Law Staff are scams.
But how long does it take in hours to get the staff and how much gold is that time worth? The nature staff costs 10k tokens. At a rate of 40k exp/hour (accepted value for level 80) you will get ~4k tokens/hour. So it will take 2.5 hours to get the staff. So if you use it from 80 - 99, then you are valuing your time at: High alching: 406k saved / 2.5 hours = 162k/hour Superheating: 1,535k saved / 2.5 hours = 614k/hour Of course, this is considering you're level 80 d'eering, P2P, and are planning on using these spells to get 99. Now, if you, like me, are F2P and level 50(ish) then you're getting ~4k exp/hour. That works out to ~400 tokens/hour. So that's 25 hours to get the staff. Then, if you're using it from 80 - 99 then you're valuing your time at: High alching: 406k / 25 hours = 16.2k/hour Superheating: 1,535k / 25 hours = 61.4k/hour. So yeah... they're not really 'worth it' to go out and try to get them but if you like d'eering and are planning on high alching / superheating to 99, then it may be decent to use your tokens on. Of course, I think I'll be buying the staff just because it's going to be a decent status symbol and (even though I haven't seen it yet) I'm assuming it will look good.

3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
I don't really think so. My thoughts are that the huge resivoirs of GP in many 76k'ers banks are starting to get low. Frankly, I was hoping that the rewards would be large money sink, but I can't really see them being that big. Yes, they're pretty much 1 handed GS's, but I don't see enough people bothering to get 80 just to get one of these wepons. Maybe some high leveled PKers, or maxed monster hunters who want to have a shield with a good wepon, but I don't see the average 'scaper getting these, whereas 76k'ing was done by a large chunk of average 'scapers. If you compare barrows armour's cost which is ~20k/hour, then for these d'eering rewards to be on par with barrows armour there will need to be 10% as many chaotic items as barrows sets. Not only are there a LOT of barrows sets used, but we never even really consider it to be a note-worthy money sink.

Dung Masters is the only cc I've ever heard of. Mind you, any F2P cc will be packed with lvl 50's but in my experience, having newbs on your team helps lower the monster levels.

Optimal Dungeoneering
The "Level modifier" depends on how many of the uncovered monsters you kill. It ranges from -25% to +10%.

Or, they're removing all the rules in the game thus they don't care about RWT anymore and put back old school PKing. and then.....

Nature Staff + Law Staff are scams.
That's true, but the larger your test sample, the closer you should get to the theoredical value. With people doing 100k+ alches to 99, it's fairly safe to say that you'll save a number at least close enough to 10% that using the 10% in the math makes sense.

The F2P General Discussion Thread
I have played as both F2P and P2P. F2P is filled with newbs and P2P is filled with noobs. Newbs are people who are new to the game. They often have seemingly 'stupid' questions, but they are grateful for help. Noobs are the people who think they are better then anyone else and even if you try to help the curse you out. I would much rather have questions from players then some arrogant elitist tell me I'm stupid just because I don't have 99 strength. And when you do find a noob in F2P, the majority of the time their main argument is "I have a member main so stfu". Plus, to address your last point. Yes, P2P is faster training, but why should everything be about how fast I can grind levels? Whenever I get P2P I always feel as though I HAVE to grind just because of the sheer number of people grinding. That's why I like F2P. it's a much more relaxed atmosphere which is what Runescape should be.

Nature Staff + Law Staff are scams.
1000 alches with nature staff 900 natures x 274 gp = 246,600 GP 5000 fires x 5 gp = 25,000 GP Total = 271,600 GP 1000 alches with fire staff 1000 natures x 274 gp = 274,000 GP 0 fire runes = 0 GP Total = 274,000 GP Difference = 2400 GP per 1000 alches = 2.4 GP per alch in favour of the nature staff 2.4 GP / 65 exp = .0369 gp/exp saved with nature staff So if you alch from 80 - 99 (~11M exp) you will save 406,153 GP. 1000 super heats with nature staff 900 natures x 274 = 246,600 GP 4000 natures x 5 = 20,000 GP Total = 266,600 GP 1000 super heats with fire staff 1000 natures x 274 = 274,000 GP 0 fire runes x 5 = 0 GP Total = 274,000 GP Difference = 7,400 GP per 1000 casts = 7.4 GP per cast in favour of nature staff 7.4 GP / 53 exp = .140 gp/exp saved with nature staff So if you superheat from 80 - 99 (~11M exp) you will save 1,535,849 GP.

3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
From what I've read on this thread plus what I see on the GE graphs, 3A goes from bought out to dumped to bought out. So the prices haven't really "leveled off" but it is possible to buy.

Should Jagex make a rule that forbids price manipulation aka "Merchant clans"?
Just to clarify something for people, advertising manipulation cc's isn't agaisnt the rules. The use of auto-talkers is. It has always been against the rules but Jagex didn't really enforce it. Because of the public pressure, Jagex recently said they would start enforcing it.

Sonic's F2P Runecrafting Guide
CONGRATS Sonic! One issue I have is that in your GOP calulations are insinuating that you win all games. Statisticly speaking, you should be able to win 50% of games so I think that should be the number you use, but hey, your guide, your call. Very wonderful guide and if I wasn't still sick of getting 75 RC from airs in the pre-GE days I would certainly use it.

Should Jagex make a rule that forbids price manipulation aka "Merchant clans"?
I agree with your points with the conservation of GP (studying chem right now so it's much like thermodynamics). But the difference between what I see as 'true' merchanting and manipulation is that merchanting takes advantage of the natural 'void' of usually +/- 2% of med price. Within here is where items are bought and sold (for stable items). People can choose to pay med+2% and get the item instantly, or put in an offer for med-2% and wait several hours to get the item. Where merchanters come in, is to act as a buffer between the 2 limits and stabalize the item. If an item starts to fall closer to the -2%, the items get sold into the hands of merchanters who then stick the items into the GE for +2% where they sit until people start to buy for that price. But since there are so many sell offers at that price, it never really rises, the prices just shift within this 'void'. So yes, merchanting does take potential GP away from some players, but it is more of a small 'convenience fee'. Same concept as a convenience store in real life. Slightly higher prices in exchange for the goods that you want, at the time you want them. Where you start moving away from convenience fee into manipulation is when people start to hoard the markets. By owning all of the items and hoarding them, you are moving into monopolization of the markets. If you are the primary owner of the goods, you can seemingly dictate the price at your will and make people pay that in exchange for the items. And by manipulating people into helping you corner and control the market (but making sure they can't talk in the CC so that they can't 'rise up' and dictacte the prices on their own terms because they typicly own just as much shares as you) you are creating a monopoly on the item which is never a good thing.
