Why Some items are crashing because of Treasure Trail update
The chances of getting 'good' TT items stayed the same. The only thing that changed is the chance of getting a 'crap' TT drop like firelighters or sweets. It's like the ROW, the chance of good drops is still minimal, the only thing that changes is the 'nothing drops'. Like what Blade said, herbs are crashing because of a MTK glitch.

Wtf happened?
When the changes happened in 2007 all of the old stakers etc dumped their phats into the GE thus they started falling. Everyone else who had one as an investment sold it out of fear. This made them essentially worthless to players. Some very wealthy, smart (yet very selfish) people knew that if they bought discontinued items at that time, they would eventually recover and become valuable again. So while the hats were falling in price, some players were quietly sucking up as many of them as they could. Then they started to recover and the street price went up so the common folks started buying again. Then when the PVP statuettes came out there was massive inflation and in time that money all filtered up and the wealthy got wealthier. Thus, there are more people with MASSIVE cash piles that choose to invest in rares but a good chunk of them are stuck in hoarders banks. Low supply, high demand from players with billions of GP = insane prices. Junk. Items that have GE value but no 'street value'. Essentially, they are items that are limited as to how low they can go in the GE (because of price floors or because or corosponding items). Also, there is 'crashing junk' which are items that had a very high value before, but are now worthless and are falling in price in the GE. Most of this is just items that have been manipulated by clans and just been dumped. Every time Jagex makes a move to eliminate bots, botters take two steps forward. So, as hard as Jagex tries they will never get rid of botters. But the 2007 updates did help lower the RWT impact in-game (it's coming back though) as well as in real life with things like Credit card fraud. Also, how did the update take away anything fun? The only things that suffered were staking for cash, PKing (BH came out with the removal of PKing which was exactly the same but a smaller space, and with recent changes, it's better then it was before), and free trade. So unless your only idea of fun is killing players or item scamming, then nothing else changed (much).

Making an Alchemy Spreadsheet
http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=high_alch_calc.htm That's pretty much any items that I can think of. I'm busy atm so I can't put all that in there, but someone mentioned it was possible to just use a program to input them? That would make things more convenient.

Save Clue for tomorrow?
If I was P2P, I would do the clue up to the last clue, then log out right beside the final destination. Then tomorrow just log on and hope the new rewards are out and claim your reward.

Maple Trees Now F2P
From my experience, that is a pretty decent exp rate. Yews get somewhere around 30k on a good day and willows get upwards of 40k. Those may not be accurate as far as "best posible rates" but that's my averages that I calculated from the last few levels I got (all in F2P). So yeah, they're not the best, but I wouldn't say don't cut them ever. It's just another mediocre spot where you can be in a secluded spot and cut semi-privately.

training place
Did them on my old account and they weren't very good. Well you're not very good  How about flesh crawlers? With a gem bag you can pick them all up, they drop plenty of other stuff, and they're agressive.

grand exchange.
Iron Titan familiar EDIT: Ah Gabe beat me to it! Too busy watching the lightning show outside Had lightning tonight also o_o The radar shows that the cell is splitting in 2 and going arround my town so I'm sitting on my patio with my laptop watching crazy lightning on all sides of me without a single drop of rain. It's pretty sweet.

training place
You could try Chaos Druids in the Edge dungeon, then again it's usually packed with bots. But all you need is a glory and banking is a breeze.

More Money Per Hour?
Grimy's Spreadsheets say that making cannonballs is 190k/hour. And at a price of 2k per rocktail and 400 gp per bait, you need to catch ~120 rocktails per hour for the methods to be equal. Any more, and it's better to fish, and less and cannonballs is better.

Maple Trees Now F2P
Wow....appearantly I can't do math anymore, guess I should get back to school.
-
Maple Trees Now F2P
EDIT: I can't multiply anymore..... Either way, the exp rate is comparable to the other best F2P exp so it's just another way to train away from other people.

Just make nature runes with a Spirit Graahk.

3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
To be honest, pretty much anyone who can kill the monsters for elite clues (I'm assuming monsters like GWD bosses and CB to drop them) has the equipment to kill them already so I wouldn't bet on a rise based on 'natural' demand increasing, but maybe from others like yourself that are thinking the same thing.

The F2P General Discussion Thread
I agree, mining is still not as player-friendly as it should be, but these new updates will at least lessen the hatred I had for it. As for maples, with 99 WC, I timed for 30 minutes recalculating ever 5 mins and it seems like I always came up with 35k exp/h which brings it just a bit short of the 40k/h you can get at Rimmington willows. Of course, I am on a laptop so dropping was really slow, I'm sure with good timing you could get 40k/h at maples. A player there was banking at Daemonheim and he could get back a little later then when I finished dropping, so I'd assume with banking it's upwards of 30k exp/h which is on par with cutting yews at Edge when it's fairly empty. With maple prices at 50 GP ea, that's 150k GP/hour which is really good for F2P.

The F2P General Discussion Thread
The way I see it, Jagex is starting to realize that the only way to 'fix' this insane hyperinflation that happened since last summer is to increase supply. These resource dungeons are a good way to do that.. Dwarven Mine - Deposit box near iron ore and coal, even those addy rocks. This may actually inspire me to mine. I timed the ores / hour mining iron at Varrock West banking and I could get max 500/hour. So that was like 18k exp and 100k GP per hour. Now, if the 30k exp/hour someone already stated is accurate, that means it is over 200k GP/h which is one of the better F2P money makers. At ~70 F2P worlds and 1k ore per hour (assuming the ore will aways be occupied which I think it will) then there will be 1.7M iron ore per day banked that would normally be dropped. With an average of 6.67M iron ores traded per day (much of that being traded between merchants) that is more then enough to make at least a small crash. Edgeville Dungeon - This is a much needed addition of extra hill giants for F2P combat money makers. For years that cave has been packed with players and finally there are more spots to kill. The impact on big bones won't be huge, but I think it will be noticable at least. Now...limpwurt roots. Someone has said that they were making 450k/hour picking up the roots.By far the best money maker other then rune mining. If the profit falls to 200k/hour (which would still be very high for F2P) then that means limps would have halved in price which is HUGE. Strength potions may actually be worthwhile to use training like I used to do when they were 1k ea. Karamja Volcano - I have not been here yet, but more training spots is never a bad thing. Daemonheim Penninsula - First F2P maple trees ever!!!!! I will have to do a test sample to see if they are worthwhile exp. Banks are far away so power cutting will have to be the method, but at least it's another semi-secluded F2P WC spot. I will edit in the exp/h when I do the test. EDIT: The exp/hour I keep getting is 35k/h and the more tests I do, the closer to this number I get. The only F2P place that gets more then this is willows at Rimmington (selling to GenStore). Mining Guild - More addy and mith ores. Even some rune which I didn't see myself because it had been mined already. Close to a bank, near coal, looks like a great mining-for-profit spot.

Bone burying speed, or PC for pray (see post6)
http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=trkwrFjw33zFF31jk12ed1A&output=html That's Grimy's prayer spreadsheet. There is a column for bones/hour there. Note, those seem to be high-end numbers for people who concentrate all the time, but thats a good estimate. And as others have said, NEVER use anything other then gilded altar if you are P2P. Just use the house party world in Yannil

The F2P General Discussion Thread
I wouldn't be surprised if the class rings are members only. Nah, they will be F2P, unless they expand on them more. They might only be partly F2P, e.g. you can only upgrade to level 5 instead of 10. Grrrr....you beat me to it while I was finding the pic  Anyway....I agree that the rings will probably only be half for F2P. I mean, we get half of the armours so I would say Jagex will give us 5 of 10 of the upgrades.

Rare Market
But with more people hunting clues for the new rewards, there will not only be more Bob shirts coming in, but people with no knowledge of street price will sell their rewards in the GE because they're after the newer items.

Lmao Annoying Demon Ep2
Even after your first one was moved from GenDisc, you still put Part 2 here? Some people never learn....

Item worth buying and holding on to
This is pretty much what I'm doing, except with gold ore. I have the GP and knowledge to do well in the rares market, but out of principle I choose to stay out of the rare market. Gold ore seem to be at an all-time low right now and a smithing update I forsee a decent jump. No where near other items rise, but since I don't get on much (due to work) I don't want to bother scanning the GE Database for the best item at the time so I looked for a good long term item. Only problem I have had with gold ore is that I bought 1M ore at 300 each and they've fallen to 280. But with the Dungeoneering update it went to 350 and that wasn't even a specific smithing update. With BTS, any item that would be bought out with an update will now be bought out twice. Once when it's on the BTS and once upon release of update. So, my advice is: Look at the update hints that Jagex has given recently and buy items related to the updates that should rise. This makes for a good mid-term item to hold.

Historic Runes Prices?
As for the rares, here are the graphs http://www.tip.it/runescape/quest2/graphofphats.png http://www.tip.it/runescape/quest2/graphofsmallrares.png And in my 5 years here, I've never heard even a hint that anyone had tracked rune prices that precisly let alone made a graph so I wouldn't hold my breath...

10m to invest, but on what?
I would say, work on getting all skills to 70+. It's a mid / long term goal depending on how long you play, but I think that all 70+ is one milestone that players should shoot for before doing things like what Bladewing said.

The F2P General Discussion Thread
I'm thinking that there will be a couple F2P floors, potentially with a final boss battle / miniquest thingy where we meet up with Bilrach, fight a bit, and then he goes deeper. Then the next floors and final battle are members only. But meh, I guess it's just wishfull thinking....
