  1. I'm not entirely sure. Back before we had membership cards in Canada I asked if I could have my RL friend buy me a card in the USA where he went to school and give it to me when he returned, but a JMod said that it wasn't allowed. I'm pretty sure it had something to do with the PIN's country of origin but I don't quite remember. Honestly I don't see the PINs being that much cheaper on RWT site to be worth the risk, even if it's a small risk.
  2. He said that his goal wasn't to be the richest person in RS, he just wanted to get 500 pumpkins. So he acheived his goal so I presume that he doesn't care all that much if they are worth 100B or 10B. Then again, that much work put into getting something that crashed so hard can never be completely ignored. He said he was likely to quit after he got them all, so I assume he will quit unless he was one of those old school PKers / stakers.
  3. It's already been said in this thread but I'll say it again. You're not wasting Jagex's time by reporting bots beceause it goes through an automated system before a J-Mod checks it. That's also the reason why innacurate bot reports are not counted against you.
  4. So far I think that purple has 'crashed' and yellow is pretty close. Green in my opinion won't last until free trade. The higher ones will likely last until free trade when those people who want a quick out will sell them ASAP, thus flooding the market. The only question is, is the demand for phats going to be high enough to withstand the flood or will red / white crash? (I don't see blues really ever 'crashing' in the modern sence of the term because of its rarity).
  5. Okay, thanks for all of that. A few things though, 1 - I don't have access to Ooglog pools and I'm not a fan of doing quests. 2 - I have 60 days of P2P left so these seeds you talk of could be usefull to me yet (don't know when or if I'll become P2P again in the future) Does this jadinko hunting take any requirements (other then levels) or any extensive preperation? I'm not really planning on doing this all on one shot so if it takes a significant amount of time to prepare, it may not be worth it for me because I want to hunt in small time intervals over these next 60 days so I don't kill myself (I don't like hunter!!!!). Also, does anyone have a rough estimate of exp rates for red sallies and jadinkos?
  6. Hunter is one of my least favourite skills but I've decided that before I go back to F2P I'm going to try to get most (if not all) stats to 80+. My question is simple; What is the best method to go from 70 to 80 hunter? Does not have to be absolute best exp/h if that requires constant clicking and a tight focus. PLEASE do not suggest red chins because trying to hunt there is just suicide with all the bots around. If you could also tell me aproximate exp/h rates that I could get (as an average player, not as an efficiency freak), that would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance OTM
  7. AFKing isn't against the rules, AFK training is. So no, they shouldn't ban you just for idling. But of course, if you're idling you have to do something to stay logged in, if the thing you do looks like a stuck bot, then it may flip the system on you but thats quite unlikely.
  8. It doesn't make them any less useful, it just means every ~10 hours you gotta take 5-10 mins out of your day to kill another wolf. I thought that you couldn't get another pair... isn't that what the JMod quote a few pages back for? Mat K thought you could, but Timbo said you couldn't and it turned out Timbo was right. At least, that's what I gather.
  9. Seems like alot of people are waiting for free trade to buy their Ely's. I could see them being ~400m with free trade. At first atleast. Yeah, it seems to me that people are waiting for free trade, then are going to try to snipe some 'junk' like Ely's for cheap before they hit an equilibrium. The same concept holds for what I think will happen to partyhats. Those people who have bought them as investments will see free trade as a way to get their money's worth without having to deal with junk so they will all try to sell their hats as soon as free trade comes back, thus crashing the price. I guess it all depends on the true number of people who own phats for investments who want to get out compared to those people who want to buy them for -hopefully- a reduced price right after free trade.
  10. Do you FM in W99? Because if so, I may have been one of those mods who did a bot test  Anyway, as long as you say something after, it's pretty obvious you're not a bot. I hate having to respond to people who say "if you don't talk you're a bot" but sometimes it's worth the 2 words in exchange for lowering the chance they report you and Jagex makes a false ban (not often, but I've played long enough for it to not be worth risking my acc).
  11. Hmmm, perhaps there will be different types of gloves that you can only get 1 of each for? Like brawlers for each stat, there will be attack, strength.... gloves? Then even if you can get more then one pair, you can't just stock up on massive amounts of gloves for future chinning etc.
  12. Part of it is because people didn't know how trade would work after the removal of free trade. Also, the goldfarmers sold their massive stocks of items all at the same time in order to liquidate their banks before the trade limit was enforced. I remember seeing gold farmers selling gold for $1/M (was normally 4-5 back then) in a panic sell-off because at the time, everyone assumed it would mean the death of RWT. Oh, how wrong we were....
  13. While all of those previous reasons could be true, they don't really explain the actual crash that many items had on Jan 6/7. Since the anouncement of the free trade vote, price have slowly gone down (most crashes were either manipulated items or due to Nex, not FT) but nothing too bad. But it seems that something on Jan 6 caused the crash of plenty of raw goods. Take a look at the graphs for natures, deaths, gold ore, yews, teak planks, and various other 'basic level goods'. They show that something happened Jan 6th, but what? Was that the day that the vote hit 1M votes? Because that was seen by most players as the point at which the return of FT was as good as confirmed.
  14. I don't think this has to do with any RC'er or specific person crashing the market. It seems to me that the 'raw material' market is tanking. I was looking up plank prices, all of them started a nose dive right at Jan 7. I looked at ores, same thing, Jan 7. Looking at the home page for updates, all there was on the 7th was the clan logo contest and the 10th anniversary cake. Even going back to the 6th, all it was is a gallery. So I have no idea why thinks started crashing on the 7th, but it can't be a coincidence that they all fell on the same day? Can it?
  15. All I can say is that if you don't 'need' the levels right away, play the markets. Just by delaying my herblore training a day and holding onto the pots for an extra 2 days I was able to get exp for ~8 gp/exp which is much better the the usual ~20.
  16. Yeah, I had a lot of Java crashes recently. I've got like 30 hs_err_pid files in my recycling now... Do those Error pids mean anything important? I seem to get a them a lot recently. They appear on my desktop the instant Java crashes so I assume it's just Java's way of telling you something is wrong. It's come to the point where any time my screen lags I minimize the browser to see if another hs_err_pid has popped up
  17. Yeah, I had a lot of Java crashes recently. I've got like 30 hs_err_pid files in my recycling now...
  18. I thought it was just me until everyone in W99 got lagged out at the same time a few days ago. This better mean that Jagex is doing some sort of updates to the servers, because if not, then they're going to have to do a lot of work because there are a lot of affected worlds.
  19. From Grimy's Spreadsheets Method Return Ratio Mining 301% Flax 251% Maples 300% Raw Fish 283% Herbs 314% These are based off current prices. Usually maples are higher then mining but since the Free Trade Vote, price have gone a little haywire. So with a 300% return ratio, you'll be getting 225k from every 75k invested. So that's 1050k per week profit.
  20. Killing level 2 spiders = 50k/h Killing elemental wizards = 75k/h Playing GOP (water tallies) = 150-200k/h Telegrabbing zammy wine = 150k/h (without competition which is very very rare) Picking up monks robes = 125k/h Mining iron ore (deposit box) = 200k/h (again competition is an issue) Mining copper ore (same spot as the iron ore) = 75k/h These are the ones I've tested a little while ago. I'm thinking about making a F2P money making guide eventually, but with the new GE system and price fluctuations coming from that, it may take a while. Until then, this is all I've got.
  21. Like RSW44 said, there are 13 confirmed drops. Even if each one has a 1/250 drop rate, isn't that the same as 1/20 chance to get an item? That's really high even if it's like 2 kills per hour. No, that's a 1/250 chance to get ONE of the thirteen items. Just because there are more items to get as drops doesn't increase or decrease the rarity of them. Oh, sorry. Thought you meant 1/250 per each item, not for an item in general.
  22. Like RSW44 said, there are 13 confirmed drops. Even if each one has a 1/250 drop rate, isn't that the same as 1/20 chance to get an item? That's really high even if it's like 2 kills per hour.
  23. No, it's not how it was manipulated before the GE, but since the GE has come out price manipulation has become the only way many people know how to make money. Not to mention the people who run those clans are going to find a way to continue leading mindless hoards of peons in pursuit of easy GP. I can already think of a few ways to do it using the GE system I think Jagex could use, but until we see what the real system is we can never really know if manipulation will work.
  24. I'm pretty sure that Jagex has already said they'll keep the GE. And without upper and lower limits, I forsee some people getting very very rich without having to take the large amounts of time it used to, and without having to resort to manipulation.
  25. That's F2p, which has considerably less income options than p2p does. Yeah, F2P was always 2k per run and I can't see it doing any higher then 2.5k/run now. F2P moneymaking hasn't really gone up a whole lot in the time since running was popular.
