It didn't say that Jagex is for sure taking legal action. They said that they have made Jagex aware of the situation and are willing to give all the information after they officially start an investigation. So at this point I'm sure Jagex's lawyers are going over all the information they can find to determine whether or not they have a legal case, then they'll ask the 'legit' botters for the in depth info. I really hope that Jagex goes after these people hard, not just the hacker but also the original bot site. If they agree to give Jagex their record to go after the hacker, hopefully Jagex finds something in there to incriminate the botters as well. I really hope we are informed about the proceedings in this case, I want to know how it turns out.

To the Zezima discussion here; From what I understand, he was made a mod because of his involvment in FunOrb not just because he's famous. Anyone who is a mod in FunOrb is also a mod on RS (and vice-versa).

HOLY CABBAGE BATMAN! They're still only 25% done and are already at 19B?!?!? At that pace they're going to be at 75B by the end of this ordeal. I'm no expert, but couldn't jagex look for any level 3 accounts that magicly received a 2B 'donation'? The article said that the guy made the accounts recently so there wouldn't be that many accounts to look through. I say, Jagex lets them hack every single account, then bans all of the mules and lets that 75B GP dissapear into thin air. Oh, and then sues that 14 year old kid :twisted: EDIT: I found this online and it seems to have been written from the other side's perspective.

Boring is relative, so that's your opinion. But as to the drops comment...you're only 66 slayer, the really good tasks don't come until you can get Kuradel as your master. I frequently get blue drag tasks which are 6k (dbones) per kill plus good amount of green charms and chances for all kinds of things (got 2.5M off a clue from them last task). So yeah, it's not like you can expect a set of d legs every task (got some last steel task btw) but those smaller drops at like 5-10k each really build up much quicker then the large drops ever do.

Except for the part for deriving the spread it should be up to date(ish). Since the free trade update, you no longer have the 4 hour buy/sell restriction so you can buy say 25k logs, sell them then buy 25k more in the span of seconds, so deriving the spread is super easy, just follow Quyneax's advice on that. That being said, I've personally handled over 1 million [secret item]'s in the span of 24 hours and with a spread of 5 gp each, that's 5M gp (I'm good at math :shades: ). It's by far not the best, but it is litterally 0 risk so I don't mind.

Hey folks. I've been thinking over the last few months that I want to help out the F2P community and create a skill related money making guide. Today I looked through the AoW and didn't see any F2P money making guides (except merch / pk guides). What I'm wondering is: Are there any guides like this out there? I don't want to make one that's on the exact topic as another guide. If I were to write a guide, does anyone think they would use it at all? If so, what do you want to see in it? My plan was 1 section per skill where I outlined all F2P parts of the skill (that can make money) and the gp/exp per hour you can expect likely using this format I am currently P2P for another month so I won't be working on it really until then and even then I'll take a while (busy with school etc) so don't expect this thing to pop up any time soon. Oh and if anyone's willing to help me with items per hour testing later on, you could also post here and I'll keep you in mind.

They said that any gains from botting would be reset. So they'd just be paying for nothing. IMO this is stupid. There's no way this will be a viable source of income considering the number of people who are perm banned for non-botting offences. To be even worth mentioning in the financial report it would have to cost hundreds of dollars/pounds/euros per account, even then they number of people willing to do so would be small. It just encourages people to keep acting like idiots.

Yeah, someone how I flipped a Staff of Light over a course of .. 5 minutes? Wonder how that's possible. Something must be broken, this is too good to be true. EDIT: Bought a Sq orn kit for 1M, time to flip this :-w I was wonding about that too, I bought a bunch of ores / logs and stuck them in the GE and they started selling almost right away. Either Jagex removed the 4h buy / sell limit or the broke the GE... I sure hope it's broken because no buy / sell limit will make flipping far far too easy.

Where is this new rev dungeon?

I went one the RSOF last night and it seemed every other post was blue owners manipulating. I guess with so few of them, it's easier to get the owners together to do that sort of thing. I guess my hopes of a partyhat are gone now that they're doing so well <_< oh well....back to flipping yews for me....

They do ban, but far less then they used to.

How so? With the 'suggested price' still being included in the trade screen, most people will decline if you offer any less. And good luck selling for more with the same reasoning. I get that all the time, someone says selling rune pick, I offer 18k and they decline because it's not the 'suggested price' of 19k. The days of 'taking advantage' of noobs who either didn't know the price or were too lazy to go to W2 to sell it is long over. The only things I see doing well in a Fally Park style setting is rares and items that are bought en masse, and even those most people go to the RSOF for.

Last page Star_Fox said they're exactly a red which is going for ~700-750M on the RSOF so maybe around there? Though I'd lean closer to TheAncient's guess of 800M. EDIT: Looking at the RSOF there was an auction and the offers started at 750M and are now at 850M so that's probably a little more accurate.

Really? Because every time I go to F2P I feel like I've gone into some weird world run by 9-12 year olds who are still enthralled by the novelty of cussing random people out. Not that P2P isn't bad, but F2P is a whole different level. What I mean is that most everyone in RS acts immature. The difference is usually that F2P'ers are younger so they have more childish insults like 'stfu you noob' whereas P2Pers go straight to the meme spouting with things like 'umadbro' and attacking your sexuality etc. Essentially, P2Pers know big boy insults and are don't shy away from using them, and for that, most F2Pers 'fear' that the P2Per they see is like the majority so they go into preemptive strike mode.

The vast majority of P2Pers who come to F2P are arrogant, immature, and just plain rude. Most of F2P's banter is simple "you're a noob" whereas the member banter is "umadbro go get laid ******". I've spent much more time in F2P and most of the flamers / trolls / jerks are P2Pers. I'm not saying there is less banter in F2P, but it's much more 'intense' in members. And the whole F2P culture is based more on a relaxed version, even our banter. So when there are members in F2P, people have a natural tendancy to not trust them and assume they're bad.

Would you advise buying some masks now? Or at free trade? Honestly, I wouldn't advise it but it's up to you. In this volitile economy there is a LOT of money to be made but where there's high rewards there's high risks. The way I see things, people are going to rush to be the first one to put up their rares for a 'good' price on the GE right when FT comes out so there will an influx pushing the price down. So yeah, if you're up for a high-risk, (potentially) high reward merch go for it.

When I got P2P back I had some dunge tokens but didn't want to bother with chaotic so I got the herbicide. The truth is, it has sat in my bank for 99% of the time since I got P2P. The only task that I've used it for was Abberant Specs, other then that I don't get enough herb dropping tasks to be worth even thinking about. So, if you have all of the other usefull rewards (scrolls of efficiency, cleansing) and don't want another chaotic then go ahead and get it. But herbicidde shouldn't be very high on your list if you plan on using it only for slayer and not camping abby specs.

It hit pretty damn close to 250k pre-ge. Most I remember is 240k, with all the bots and crap. Yeah, that's pretty much the max I remember seeing in normal times (not holidays etc). And to that bot comment, I remember going through W7 writing down every bots name on an excel doccument to send to Jagex. Frinal count was over 300 I beleive (lost it when the family computer crashed) and that was NOT abmormal. That gives you a good scope of exactly how many online 'players' were bots. 20% (assuming 1500 players on the server) of 'players' on a randomly selected world were bots. I have no idea how the bot situation was in P2P, but I have to assume it was similar. PS - The next day, all of those bots were banned and were replaced within 2 more days.

What are the lower hats going for right now? And how low do you think they'll dip right after free trade (assuming they do, which I think they will)? Am I the only one who is nervous about this; As of now, they perm ban accounts which RWT. Anything 'different' would have to be a step towards less punishment. Sounds like Jagex is transfering their approach to bots to their approach to RWTers: Wipes. Right now, if I buy 10M gold for $20, I risk not only that $20, but also my account that I've put 100+ days into. But if Jagex goes to bank wipes, then all you're really risking is that $20. WAY less risk will lead to far more RWT, not less. Note - I say "I" as an example. I have never, and will never endorse RWT or anything similar. It is the scum that ruined the game and offenders don't deserve to play, ever.

yea i used to do that when i played years ago.. back then u could easily sell lobbies for 250ea and was well worth it.. not so much anymore With the new noting NPC on the island, fishing is half decent GP in F2P. After my P2P runs out in 2 months, I think I will go ahead and make that guide.
