  1. They might favourte stellar dawn a bit more as they can get more by not having to pay for patents. I suspect war of leglands will also be sitting in a much lower place on Jagex's homepage after 8relams is out, as their ?58,59,881,90930"]current venture isnt a really jolly one.
  2. Yea, they should only allow 5+ player to vote. I dont think those who played 10 years need a cape unless they are missing their bunny's or scy the
  3. Maybe this is a stepping stone or dummy run (not sure about the proper business word for this) for stellar dawn or the other way around, similar to all those stories about the relationship between war of legends and 8realms.
  4. The assumption in this case is that the person has unlimited fund and is willing to use it to ensure he never lose out. The second point is less important to this topic, but I guess wikipedia may explain better than me. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Misuse_of_statistics
  5. How lucky is she, all I got from 10 years of playing is "go back to your kitchen" from some angry pkers. But anyways, its like asking why there are prostitutes or why people watch p0rnz. Eitherway, spending some virtual pixels for an opposite chatmate the shares the same interests? Not entirely a bad deal. Consider that the their real life partner might despise or even know that they play this game. Unless of cause you value 1mil RS GP as US$1.
  6. Yes, you are right about the theory, but I am not wrong either. Scroll up and you will know that I was arguing with someone telling another person to "study statistics". I have stated clearly in my reply that the fact that statistics will always show you are winning but it includes unrealistic assumption. I have used all those statistics crap in my research papers to make things more "convincing", all those new exciting contradicting "medical researchs" also use it, you can do it too. And besides, it is still true that doubling money doesnt work as the scammer only get the initial amount of stakes no matter how much more the cash pile have been roll up, if the client only do doubles.
  7. I hope you are talking about the people that host now. No, not really. Source of all knowledge, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martingale_(betting_system) But statistics are unrealistic, as I have said before, you can run infinite trails as if you can spend like no tomorrow for a constant and relatively small potential profit. However that doesnt mean the host will lose. You know, the wonderful thing about statistics and distributions is you can use it to prove the otherwise. For the host, firstly you have more than 1 clients and you also take in the probability of clients exponential growth of stakes. Then run a confidence test, you will get a pretty high confidence of winning as a host. If you are really into this kind of maths, I can show you the more hard core stuff.
  8. Oh dear lord, please follow a course on statistics. You are so wrong. Which I guess answers the question from the topic starter...: yes, people are that stupid. Statistics? Quite the opposite, if you following statistics you are always on the winning side, you are so wrong. Never trust statisitcs, its what research papers, investment bankers or casinos used to convince you to buy craps. Well, unless if you are in your final year of university. The problem about statistics is you can run a ridiculous high number of test trials, which in reality you are risking a ridiculous high amount of stakes for a small profit.
  9. That's exactly what I do. I've found that it often helps to feign extreme naivety so as to make the scammer believe you'll hand over more once he proves himself. Technically scamming a scammer. Same though I've had someone in F2P run off with 500gp before. For some there is truly no hope. He is in fact scamming scammer scammers, a selfless scammer protector from scamming scammers. Anyway, doubling money is stupid, the scammer only win the initial amount, they should do flower game or dice game. Think about it, If the client offer 30k, you immediatly take it, you will get 30k. Case 2, If the client offer 30k, you double it 60k, you lose 30k The client offer 60k, you double it to 120k, you lose 90k. The client offer 120k, you double it to 240k, you lose 210k. The clinet offer 240k, you double it to 480k, you lose 450k The client now offers 480 and you decided take it, you still only get a profit of 30k, whats the point?
  10. Many Man Online Role Playing Girls, courtship is coded in our DNA and I personally know some aggressive females behaving the opposite as well. I dont really know much about men and maybe this is abit offensive, but frankly if I see a guy proudly showing off his male character, my first reaction would be wondering is he a queer. There are quite alot of females hardcores in gaming and some of them are housewifes. But for some reason many young men dont really like them much, unless they think flirting with something like "go back to your kitchen" is effective.
  11. qfc: 239-240-517-62519029 Pimped cannon, more aggro, makes you into a one man killing mechine, must have! Anyways, are you seriously still using imageshack after all those malware and registration fiasco?
  12. I wonder why this guy is still a player moderator, doesnt jagex have somesort of code of honor? I will file a complain to Jagex about this pmod nevertheless, hope he will get demod soon. Wouldnt it will be better that another player that is nice and helpful to noob less intelligent players would be more suitable than a scammer and lurer for the job. And if he want a divine that much that he have to scam and lure his way to get one, why he doesnt bother to do a market research of the shield's actual price and get a bargain? I wouldnt say he is lazy, but I think he actually enjoy luring and taking advantage of players with less experience. EDIT: Seems he is from Kill Orgy, handpicked by jagex? Yea, sure.
  13. Wow, I don't feel so bad anymore I'm at like 190 days, and only like 10m more xp than you. I was like I'm such a nub at training, but can't stand grinding I hate it so much, why all my 99s are fast. Hope you feel better I wish I have time to play more but there are always more promising looking new games coming out every month. Was F2P on classic.
  14. Do you sereiosly expect a pickup group in RSOF would have these things installed? If teamspeak or ventrillo make a browser based version of their wonderful software, jagex will no doubt enter somesort of partnership like they do with the runescape bar, but so far there isnt any. Voice chat are not rocket science, there are plenty of those free libraries out there for you to make one of your own. For those who say it will increase lag, first of all lag is most likely caused by packet congestion and its very unlikely that your internet connection has reached full capacity. Since friend/clan servers is different from your game servers, so it doesnt really increase congestion on your rs game server unless I am mistaken something. The only disadvantage for using RS VC is for those living in land of far far away like Australia or behind the great firewall of china might have delays on receiving and sending.
  15. We used to say IRC was working so well as well, but anyways with 49%yes and 40% maybe, seems very likely that we are getting it "soon". OT: Skype is horrible at teamspeak. Its heavily bloated and pathetic on hosting 25men conference. Even those more bloated than skype offer better teamspeak than skype.
  16. If you follow this http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Rune_guardian or the colors of talisman (since body tali is blue and chaos is brown). You should then deduce that Astral should be purple, not quite the purple as in elemental purple. Have no idea for soul yet. Omni body, anyone?
  17. Wear your normal ring then change to ROW when it's about to die. :P But losing 1 inventory space = cost alot.
  18. expect e-mails soon I have those mails in my mailbox already.
  19. Not really, spookspring is a wonderful (and weird) person back in rs1 days, but he is just not me, my current email is gspbeetle@google's mailing service. Yet, thats not the mail I register with Jagex, as google mail doesnt really exist back those days. That old mail account is rarely used now since its address is alot longer than my current one. However, doing a bit googling (thanks to google again!), my mail accounts can be found in some really old web archives, so in some sense you are right about that  . I didnt join zybez/curse or other popular English RS communities, since we got all the pros here, honestly what else do we need? Oh and I hate runehq and their kind to guts for what they did to us.
  20. I got these emails and I dont remember I have put my email on Tip.it by any means at all other than registering. (although my username gives it away) Thanks to web2.0 maybe, similar to how facebook knows who's emails is that email's friend or relatives by their clever models and bots.
  21. Not really against wildness, but I am just frustrated to understand why some optional features have to be gone like PVP worlds.
  22. I hope you have a good firewall/virus detection. I woulnd't even click on the link Firewall/virus detection doesnt do anything about preventing you from installing dodgy addon or block browser exploits. But tbh, I also spam the login form as well with promising looking fake logins and passwords.
  23. It seems that Jagex may have to advertise more and bribe gain influence on those gaming medias. Runescape crash seems to be rare unless he is using direct X on Linux, partly because how the Java machine allocates memory.
  24. Those magic potions are use for what?
  25. If I am a thug, I would use the stolen card on physical items and resell those goods later. Stolen card has a very short lifespan and goes invalid as soon as its original owner discover he lost it/ somebody else is using it. Anyways, is reporting bots more effective on f2p than on p2p, since those bots doesnt pay jagex $5?
