  1. Dragon boots    Any other dragon armour    Dragon armour is junk, not even the skirt is worth it's price. Just wait till you're 70 defence, use good ol' cheap rune armour till then. At 70 you can get barrows, which makes almost any other armour look like a joke. Very cheap aswell. Also as a FYI, dragon armour is looked down on for some reason, It looks extremely nooby (whatever you do don't buy dragon leg/skirt+dmed+runeplate. That is the visual definition for a noob). Do get dragon boots though, they're great.
  2. Mouse keys is easily the fastest way, once you get the hang of it. There's an AoW guide for it I believe. One alternative is using your fish on a bunyip for water runes. It sacrifices speed but you make a small profit. If you're fast at clicking it might be worth while.
  3. IMO it's perfectly normal to be like that. I do that all the time because I'm still paranoid of dieing from the "old" days where if you died, then you died. Today if you died it's just a matter "oh woops died, I'll make my way back to my grave. Might check on kingdom first...". Or perhaps it comes with addiction..
  4. Although there are better alternatives to both dhides and karil (armadyl+veracs), Karil is better for fight caves IMO. Someone skillfull at the fight caves hardly ever gets hit by melee attacks. The birds get killed in 1-2 shots almost every time, so they don't hit you, the big blob is easily blockable, the small blobs never hit anything decent, the 360's are always prayed against and the 180's should always be blocked. However, the 90's are constantly hitting you for the entire second half of the fight caves (with ranged), so range defence is a bit more valueable (IMO). Also, Jad only hits you with mage/range if you range him so the defence might give you a small extra chance of surviving a mistake. That said, Karil's is far from useless.
  5. No way near. I've heard obby mace (not maul) is decent for welfare gear, since it's better than d mace, just without a spec. Remeber berserker ammy if you try that.
  6. I, and all high levels pre-pvp worked up their stats so they could make money well with whatever method they like. It's not fair that everyone gets instant access to the same gp rates, even if the higher levels can do it as well. I'm just a little disturbed by Jagex's lack of care for the entire situation, they've even clearly stated it's within rules to do this.
  7. rofl, i love idiotic flamers. Cute. Have a definition for flaming --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flaming_(Internet) Still pointless. Still no discussion value. Maybe one day someone will go out to test it, give you a figure, what then? /thread
  8. Sounds like a decent idea. Personally, I'd make this against the rules in a heartbeat. When 26/75k ing first came about, I really didn't care much about it. Nowadays everyone and their mother is abusing it. I don't care if it's not against the rules, it's against the spirit of the game. I work my mellee stats all to 99, prayer to 80, summon to 88 and risk 10-20m+ in equipment while using resources constantly at bosses making 1m/hr if very lucky and experienced (and extremely patient with dry streaks). Meanwhile, any newb can pick 76k worth of flax and stand around doing NOTHING makeing more money than me. Explain the fairness of that? Now explain the point in boss hunting and combat to me? This 26king is making practicly everything obsolete.
  9. Fire cape isn't really even accepted as a hard cape anymore. Let alone to be the same accomplishment as 99 in RC, slayer etc. Fishing is generally respected, good looks, semi-rare, semi-hard to get, good emote.
  10. High level combat equipment has pretty much hit it's limit. Anything more powerfull than godswords and pvp weapons and we're going to be able to hit 99+ in a single hitsplat. It's bad enough we can already be killed within one second by a blitz+AGS+gmaul spec combo while 99 def, hp and sara brewed.
  11. I suppose LD gets forgotten sometimes. I mean, it's not like HD has demanding requirements. My friend managed to buy a 256mb gfx card a week ago and he can run HD like a charm. It only cost him about $75 (Aussie dollars) as well. Maybe time to update your computer?
  12. Where should i train cause 2-3 weeks is fast lol Armoured zombies for combat training. You'll find plenty of guides in the archive of wisdom, just run a search. From best to worst in usefullness: strength ---> woodcut -----------------------------------------------> cooking best to worth in respected-ness (or however you'd say it, lol): Woodcut --------> strength ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------> cooking best to worst in speed of training/easy training: cooking -------> strength ------------------------> woodcut It's your choice really, do what you enjoy :P
  13. It's so easy to look at everyone whos got loads of whips, d bows, d boots etc. etc. and think "slayer is great for money because of those items!". But really, the income comes from misc drops more than anything else. You make more money than your whip drops with misc stuff (unless you get an abby demon task every second task you get, in which case I hate you for your luck). These sort of drops are herb drops, herb seeds, runes, medium-sized drops (things like rune boots and g mauls) and rune armour/weapons. High end slayer is like the industrial revoloution of rune full helms. I swear, you get so many of these if you stick with duradel...
  14. If this means what I think it means... [bleep] YEAH! WOO
  15. Those are some enourmous requirements. It looks like Jagex is really trying to bring agility back. Edit: 725.7xp/lap for new barb outpost and 745xp for a lap of gnome. They look quite short aswell, wow. 99 Agility holders start rant now
  16. So you're spending ~2m+/hr just to tank? That's pretty pointless considering you are going to splash every time with mage and while zurial has decent melee stats, you won't find me paying 400k/hr for it. These threads are just silly TBH, whos ever going to go out in this stuff? and whos going to bother attacking for more than 5 rounds of 0's from both sides? Yes you can theoreticly have insane defence, but who cares if it's not practical :? This reminds me of when construction came out and everyone was theorizing what the xp/hr could be from creating steel dragons @ 10m per ~3k xp.
  17. I'd say an additional 10k-20k xp/hr, at the very least (obviously as your stats increase the benefit of super potions goes up with them). I haven't trained at bandits in quite a while though.
  18. You're looking at the big picture far too much, people don't get to 99 runecrafting by staring at their exp and thinking "only 1.4M pure ess to go". 100 super sets will last you a long time, it's not like you're paying for 100 super strength pots/hr. 100 would last you maybe 80+ hours? That's 7.2M+ exp at armoured zombies (maybe 4.8m exp for bandits). You really don't have to be anywhere near rich to use 'em.
  19. As death showed, SS is clearly better. not only is accuracy not needed at places like bandits/armoured zombies but strength bonus is more valuable than attack bonus. The reason I posted was to say that if you aren't training with super sets (or AT LEAST pure sets) you are utterly wasting your time. Super sets are NOT expensive, and if you train somewhere like armoured zombies (although there are alternatives) you will not only make the money back, but profit enough to buy super sets for another 20+ runs. It can't be overstated as to how useful they are. If your choice was between d scim+defender+super sets and sara sword+no pots/combat pots then GO WITH THE SCIMMY. Use those super sets. You might not want to hear it, but training your stats up to be able to fight armoured zombies would be the smartest thing you could ever upgrade from. Before you start upgrading to super sets/sara sword get the requirements done. That is if you're serious about getting a good strength level (90+), if you're not serious about it then it's not really worth nitpicking about the SS/D-scim argument.
  20. As long as their special drop isn't some random piece of crap like brine sabres or granite platelegs, I'm happy for them to take all the time in the world to make sure they get it right  If you're not a patient person, maybe you should stop opening threads like these. They sound fun to kill TBH, I wonder what their special attack will be (and on that note, I wonder what their weapon's spec attack will be. Assuming it's a weapon).
  21. For the second question, the SODB (slayers of dangeous beast) seems like it would be a good choice --> http://www.sodbsite.co.cc/ . I'm not a member of the clan myself, but I've heard some good things about it.
  22. iTS 15%?!  First time I've heard it too. I'm not 100% sure on it so I may be wrong. But I also recall hearing from a few people on TIF that the KB had the wrong number.
  23. It's not actually 10%, the RSKB is wrong, it's 15% (or therabouts). Like dead said, it's very similar to the way a range prayer works, it gives both accuracy and max hit increase.
  24. Read the fine print under my post. The strength bonus of bandos is nothing. The chest plate is somewhat considerable in a select few scenarios where you're praying 10% strength and have high defence. Not exactly a replacement at all. As for the repair, it's not even worth mentioning TBH. It's just so insignificant that if I was to form a pro/con list, I wouldn't even bother to put it in as a con. Who's going to camp over 16 hours? No one (you're wasting your time if you do - you should always bank for super sets). Who's unable to keep up with a ~15k/hr cost for the best armour in the game? No one. People can use bandos if they want to max or if they like the look, I really don't care, but they should know their money could be better invested.
  25. ... Is this a joke lmfao? Barrows for noobs? If anything, Bandos and 3rd age is for noobs since only the noobs don't realize that a higher price doesn't mean better armour. Barrows kicks Bandos's [wagon] in almost every possible situation. +1 hit max vs taking about half the damage you would with any other armour, it doesn't take a genius to decide which is better there. Unless you train on yaks/rock crabs with 70+ def (in which case your a bit of an idiot...), barrows is better. The cost of barrows is overated aswell, it's about 15k/hr for the armour? Your average level 80 can make 200k+/hr. Easily. Therefore the cost of barrows is compeltely negligable. Barrows for noobs.... LOL@YOU. I realise people don't always buy 3rd age armour to use for combat, I was just using it to illustrate my point.
