Anyone with the slayer level can hunt abby demons, really. Stats only increase kills/hr and how often you must bank. Your summoning level plays a -large- role, perhaps more so than your defence. With below 68 summon, I'd go for 90 defence if you want to do a slayer task in one trip. With 68 summon, 70 defence will get you through with semi-tank gear (void+dfs+super def pot, for example). With 89 summon, you can wear anything at any defence level (within reason..). I'm assuming your range level is roughly around 90. I don't have any experience whatsover at training at abby demons with a low range level.

I'm pretty sure evil stews stack with pies/pots. So you could get +11, but it would require a lot of evil stews to get it. Get within 9 levels of what you need for a good chance with stews+pie.

I don't understand. Just because their job is hard doesn't mean they shouldn't be expected to do it well. Lots of people have hard jobs....do you expect your car to run well? It certainly isn't easy to build a car. That doesn't mean that if my car breaks down every month I should still be driving that same car and think "Well Ford, you tried! Good job, I know its hard" Also, bugs do happen, but there are also consequences...Microsoft handles many class action lawsuits when their software breaks down and causes valuable data to be erased. Hell, they are now legally obligated to fix Xbox 360s due to a court case. Errors happen all the time. Companies ship out dangerous/faulty prducts. Yes. It happens, and Jagex does it too. But Jagex doesn't give people any reparations for the displeasure that they have caused. Other companies do. Again brings me back to saying you would understand their position if you were ever part of a large game designer team. I'd imagine there would be set procedures for repairing a car. You could easily observe each part for a general idea of it's functionality within a day. The same can't be done for a large application, where you would have to go throw millions of lines of code (yes, even games as simplistic as RuneScrape use up millions of lines of code without breaking a sweat). Even if someone was crazy enough to read through it all in an attempt to fix bugs, no human being on this earth could comprehend all that at once, let alone problem solve it. The difference between Microsoft and Jagex is Jagex has the law on their side (and who on earth would *actually* go sue a company over in-game items?). Our accounts are technically property of Jagex, so legal actions are quite limited. The right thing to do would be to return items, but it isn't as simple as Jagex browsing through bug-reports and giving items back. It would take a significant amount of dedicated staff merely to sort through false claims, and they would have to implement a very effective system for it. The consequences of failing in either of those could be much worse than the problem we're trying to fix in the first place. In the end, we're always going to have people who don't care about what it would take for Jagex to return items, all they want is their items back. Is it a bad thing? Not necessarily. But both sides must be considered before blindly complaining. Didn't know about that xbox 360 case, think I'll go read up on it. I love reading up on Microsoft getting smacked by karma for the crap they sell :P

Tip.It Times: 12 July 2009 - Addressing the Anti-Hack Key
Lets_3ekout replied to n_odie's topic in General Discussion
You assume it can't just naturally repeat previous passwords. There's no reason why it shouldn't be able to do so without some sort of reset. Even if you do have to reset it, I'm sure it wouldn't be a very tedious process considering you only have to do it once every 38 years (38 years since the average user would only login about 10 times a day at most. The people that log in 50+ times are outliers). On topic with the articles, I utterly disagree with the anti-hack article. Couldn't be bothered reading the other two, I don't read fiction and I've had enough with reading about the 26k trick. The anti-hack article had quite a few things taking away from it's credibility, such as misguiding views on the operation of the dongle. Namely, saying it would get people fired from work (Hiding it should not be the hardest thing in the world. Neither do I believe that such a device would even get someone in trouble.) and also saying it would have something to do with USB ports, which Andrew Gower debunked. Another fault I can remember from memory is that it assumed that kids who buy this device will: A) Be vocal about playing RuneScape at their school. Most play secretively. B) Bring their dongle to school. Most schools, at least where I live, have their computers blocking sites and restricting permitions enough to stop kids from playing Runescape. C) Parents would oversee the purchase of the dongle, and therefore take the initiative to tell their child not to bring their dongle to school. So losing their dongle due to bullying is really of minimal concern. -
I remember Jagex saying they're doing well for finance. I don't see why they would be in trouble, either. Sure, you see people saying they're quitting all the time here on the forums due to one update, but the reality is that these are one-off drama queens that just want attention. Just like with swine flu, the problem gets dramatized and it seems much worse then it really is. Additionally, I'm betting most people claiming they're quitting never even consider quitting. Could we stop with the dooms day theories of Jagex trying to profit from their customers now? EVEN if they are proffiting from this new anti-hack device, SO WHAT? They're a company for crying outloud, not a charity. Believe it or not, companies like to profit.

I pretty much always do things efficiently. When I do it the fun, slow way I always get this bad feeling in my stomach of wasting my time (suppose that's happening anyway since I'm playing RS  ). Although lately slayer is all I do, and there's no way to train slayer that isn't fun

08-July-2009 Mobilising Armies + patch notes

They let you teleport to higher level resources. I'm not sure if they give more charges (which would be nice, but 50 charges is alot). -
Runescape ports are blocked off, need help.

Are you sure it's not your internet connection speed? If it takes 40mins to load up each time, it's possible that you're lagging too much to log in. Maybe try clear your browser cache (A good thing to do every now and then, anyway)? -

Just play a game of MA with a semi-charged locator. No seriously. You might need to have it equipped or maybe in your bank or maybe it doesn't matter, but after playing a game after uncharging my locator (and almost dying :D ), I got a message in my chatbox saying something along the lines of 'your locator has recharged'. Yea, but I've played 20+ games without it recharging. Is it fully drained of charges? Maybe it has to be completely used up :? Did you win any of those games? That could be it as well. -
10th July 2009 - The Jagex Anti-Hijack System and DevBlog
Lets_3ekout replied to Mil's topic in General Discussion
$10 is cheap. For the security of an account you work for thousands of hours, even $20 is bargain. It's not members+ either, the extra bank space (who REALLY needs this anyway? Anyone with a full bank can easily clean up 1/4 of his stuff without any inconvenience) is just an incentive for the not so tech savy people who are stuborn enough to believe they're unhackable. In the end, if you really don't want one and you don't get it the only thing you miss out on is security. Jagex are trying to help us and are willing to invest REAL LIFE money in OUR interest. -
possible to kill a mith dragon with my stats?
Lets_3ekout replied to essiw's topic in Help and Advice
Yes, they're quite cheap. Mith drags aren't hard for anyone, people with stats in the 60's should be able to kill them, just very slowly. If you're going to use range prayer or chivalry (praying one of these highly recommended) bring 5 p pots just to be safe. If you have dragon slayer gloves remember to bring them, but don't go out and start playing FoG just to get a pair for this. I have a pair and I never remember to bring them :? -
11-July-2009 Jagex Security Key Response
Lets_3ekout replied to Cheefoo's topic in General Discussion
Are you serious? You expect jagex to just hand out hundreds of thousands of these as freebies? They've already stated it's non-profit, but handing them out to every single member for free (who wouldn't ask for it? It'd be free, after all) would just be begging to break their bank. -

Lol @ 0 ranarrs. Looking at the rewards, it looks like they try to get everything worth 10k without going over 10k. Ranarrs are 10.5k. GF. I got bored lately and got 10 light armies and told them all to explore for the entire game. Very amusing watching all the camping nubs with their 10 heavy armies trying to chase them. -
Woodcutting is horrible money, you shouldn't woodcut or fish just to make money. Try aviansies. 26King is a problem, and your friend does sound like a bit of a jack [wagon], just delete him if he bothers you.

Black demons, Dust devils, Nechraels, Aby demons are all good crimson droppers and offer a pretty big profit each trip  Rock lobsters are the best crimson droppers in game, but since you have 500k you could only make 150 or so crimsons before being bankrupt
-
Making one in your house would be faster anyway :|
-
Waterfiends dominate cockroach soldiers for crims, easily. As said, you can't even begin to compare how much better they are. P2P players shouldn't be killing those anyway, slower gp/hr, xp/hr and charms than all the best spots out there. Never hunt crims at giant rock crabs. Ever. They have a pretty bad drop rate for charms, and when they do give you a charm drop, it will almost always be gold. You will lose profit here as well.

Funny you say that, I just broke my TT dry streak with my last clue. Got a sara plate, was a nice 1.3m or so  They aren't really that bad. Back when many of the TT rewards were worth more, there was no "jackpot" prize. Robin's were the best, now you have a tiny chance at 3rd age armour. The chance may be minuscule, but the thought of it is enough to keep me doing clues. I enjoy clues anyway, they're a fun break away from all that grinding and slaying.

What is the guthan healing rate % of working?
Lets_3ekout replied to firestrikeb's topic in Help and Advice
I've never tested the actual %, but use Guthans all the time. Roughly one in three hits (by hits, I mean hits that do damage) heal you. Guthans will easily keep you alive at bandits. You can be banned for AFK'ing though, so before you AFK overnight ask yourself if it's worth risking your entire account for the minuscule exp (bandits are slow xp. Try armoured zombies or zombie monkies). -
Kent's guide to Summoning mastery! Bork

I have no idea why but I went to sell 1.5k barker toads in the GE and they sold instantly. I put them in lowest although i'm not sure if they actually sold for the lowest price. Every time i've tried to sell them before, they didn't ever sell. Same here, I used all my golds on barker toads 82-89, and every time they all sold instant (I don't pay attention to how much I get for them, I dump everything at min). That was about 2-4 weeks ago. There must be some sort of conspiracy :geek: -
This is the stupidest and most ridiculous argument ever. How many retaurants have you owned? Zero? Then you have no right to complain about poor service. How many toy companies have you owned? Zero? You have no right to complain if their toy kills your child. Absolutely terrible and illogical argument. We live in a world where people specialize in crafts for a reason. Not everyone does everything well. We are expected to perform our job well, and in turn we are allowed to expect others to do their job well. I'm not saying he has to go out and code, I'm saying *IF* he did, he would understand what Jagex's position is like. In the same way that if a professional makes a mistake in what he does, you would have to be a professional in his field to understand his position. Even if you don't program, everyone should know bugs happen in the largest of software companies (*cough* Microsoft), and be cautious of them. Ban the people who lie to jagex. Simple. Fair enough, but they still need a way of finding if people are lieing. The only way would be to create code that would track changes that they don't expect. Sounds tricky, no?
-
I'll never go out of my way to help someone who can't type right. It's more subconscious, I just won't want to help someone who comes up and asks "hey can u com 2 avvinacnces n sho me gud spot?". If someone seems nice and I'm not doing something important I'll go out and help them. What goes around comes around. Although since I became a PMod I no longer feel like helping out so much, ironically enough. The reason for that is, at the end of *every* conversation comes the question "How do I become a pmod?". It's obvious that's the only thing on their mind. It gets much more annoying than you'd think, I hardly ever talk in the GE any more (unless I'm alching, in which case I can brew up some interesting conversations and arguements from typing in public chat  ).
-
That might be, but I'd also be a corpse before I would walk around with that much on me. That's just me though. (FYI I did not go selling/buying expensive items in the first week of GE, only negligible cheap items). As for giving the cash back to player, I can't really argue that for Jagex. I don't know what the challenges really would be like for Jagex to do this. Making sure that the players aren't lieing would be pretty difficult, I'd imagine. Once players start seeing other getting money from Jagex in this way, the lies would start up exponentially. It would definetly be a great move from Jagex to make things right in these circumstances, *IF* they can get it right.
