  1. Assuming neither isn't an option, I'd go for the second altar, they really make your house look epic. The marble fireplaces look all right but they aren't exactly incredible.
  2. Wait, so what's actually being DONE about RWT'ers? The government in China is just saying "don't do it pretty please?"? Unless some HUGE financial/physical action against RWT'ers takes place, they aren't going anywhere. Even then, they're still going to be there, just in a lower % from China.
  3. Broad. Diamond if you have the $$$, but apparently you don't. Get a fury before you upgrade to diamond bolts (if you do, that is).
  4. I went through a one hour convo as a newb with some higher level (50?) debating if he could trim my iron kite shield. In the end he stole it and I thought he was going to log back in sometime, but I didn't really care since I got another within the next few minutes. I think I feel worse for the scammer than myself...
  5. It's an upcoming RuneScape minigame, which will be somewhat similar to RTS games (eg. Age of empires, warcraft 3, empire earth), but obviously in smaller scale. It will involve several races to battle with and is coming out within the next few weeks. No large amount of detail has been released, so it's anybody's guess as to what exactly it will be like.
  6. JMods could have gold trimmed versions
  7. The next few weeks? Wow, I thought they said end of '09. This is going to be really interesting, they've been building this up ALOT.
  8. Karils is great for meleeing monsters that mage (or mage and range, like waterfiends) - it's the best armour in the game for that. Better mage/range def than black dhide by a significant amount. Without it, pieting waterfiends would be almost impossible since you would need both piety AND range prayer. For ranging, it sadly does suck. Same attack bonus as black hides, which are worth almost nothing on GE. The answer to your question depends on what you plan on doing with it ;) Edit: Oh, and if you meant the bow aswell, it's actually quite good, but broad bolts are many times cheaper and don't fall too far behind. Places where bow could be used include fight caves and PvP. Never use the coif. Ever.
  9. Some sort of melle equivalent of knives/darts would be nice. Attacking really fast is much more fun to watch than one gs swing *wait 5 hrs* next swing... As for what it could be... A katana? I'm not sure, I have no imagination
  10. I'm assuming you're talking about a slayer task? Meleeing in CT (with 10% strength) with a geyser I can get alot faster than 25sec/giant. I have maxed melees though. If you don't have a good combat familiar, dharok them in smoke tunnel *might* be faster. But no slayer/black mask & significantly increased cost make it a pretty iffy choice for a slayer task. 79+ summoners would get much better results in CT IMO. Your last choice is cannoning them in brimmy dungeon. The dogs are annoying, but you can try to run and hide so your cannon just goes into a killing spree. The best palce to cannon them in brimmy is on the ledge north of greater demons. The fire giants near the black demons are few in number if you're cannoning.
  11. Firstly, I did not try to "end" the thread when I said "/thread". What I meant was that once someone gives an accurate figure the thread has lost all meaning and discussion. Secondly, if you think I'm a wannabe mod, think again. I've been a TIF mod, and I am a pmod, so I could really give less about every idiot running around shouting "WBM@@@". If I wanted to actually end threads, I wouldn't have retired. FYI, I'm only continuing arguing this because people people continue responding to me. I know some people are thinking I should give it a break, I think I agree, it isn't worth the attention.
  12. I don't know xp rates, I never could be bothered counting them, but normal bolts aren't very good. The long bolts *were* good when you could leave an offer of ~30gp ea overnight and come back to find 10k+ bolts sitting in GE (slightly exagerated, it could take longer depending on time/luck). Now they're both expensive and I assume hard to buy. Using normal bolts was roughly the same as a msb with mith-addy bolts. Long bolts were rune+. Those were fun times training with long bolts.
  13. As a pmod, I can tell you that Jagex doesn't look for those who try to be a pmod. Asking for pmod status is certainly a HUGE no-no. What you have to consider is that there is a tremendous amount of people out there who could qualify for pmod but Jagex hand picks each and every one. That take ALOT of time! Just be patient, be yourself and be good. You don't have to go out of your way to talk to JMods (I never so much as saw a jmod before I became a pmod!), neither do you have to go out of your way to go on reporting sprees, or help random newbs for countless hours, it just comes eventually if you're the right person for the job.
  14. One thing worth adding into the familiars section (or at least worth mentioning) is the forge regent, it's just a buffed up version of the smoke devil, with a area attack aswell.
  15. 1.Yes. Use 10% at the VERY least, but you have more than enough restores for 15%. 2. I think so. Not too sure on if it's a good thing when the healers come. 3. Rapid. 4. With your restores, I would use steel skin, yes. Don't priortise it, if you're having trouble with pray switching, don't stress yourself out with pulling the healers off AND turning on steel skin. Turn the prayer on when your comfortable. Remember that pressing F4/F6 rapidly switches from prayer list and inventory, it's valuable to use at jad (don't use it if you're uncomfortable with it). Good luck!
  16. I'm not sure how many people still go in it, but look at the top of your screen while your in the forums, it should have a link called "Chat" (near FAQ, Search, Members etc.)
  17. Normally never, but I got 94 range a week ago that I didn't see coming. My hydra trained it all 93-94  I thought I still had the whole level to go. It was a pretty big "WTF" moment since I was training melle and I'm maxed. Level up ---> level 100 str please? :P
  18. Just because it doesn't level combat doesn't mean it's not a combat skill. That's just silly. You have some decent tips for starters, there's definetly room to expand though. Some big things to mention are killing the Jade Vine (Bork gives xp aswell), use of 5% and 10% strength prayers and combat familiars should be used whenever possible.
  19. Yes. +3 boost. Search around before you ask? there's a herblore guide you know.
  20. Not really :? The scrolls are 32ea (pretty much hit a price floor ATM). 1k scrolls are 32k. 1k scrolls lasts a long time, so it doesn't add up, anyone can make the money back by that time. They're definetly less usefull since people can run to most places without energy restoring methods. There still are some uses though. Running from var to Bork requires a few scrolls (I run out at the zammy monks), Treasure trails, penguins, farming (they're still invaluable for this). In some ways they're even more usefull, now that the prices have gone from insanely low to INSANELY low.
  21. And what are you talking about? Rabbits aren't made of bird meat :wall: They are a variant of meat.
  22. Huh? A town called Oog'log (not sure on exact spelling) has a shop that sells raw bird meat. Dirt cheap. Go to this guide, under obtaining secondaries look for bird meat--> viewtopic.php?f=103&t=744156 Buying them from Oog'log or GE isn't silly either. Silly would be spending 3 hours killing birds, earning almost no experience, just to gather 1k bird meat. Sometimes you just have to swallow that pride and be lazy ;)
  23. I think it's only bird meat, not varients. Why would you want to hunt rabbits though? Oo'glog provides the meat so much faster...
  24. I pity you. Barrows IS the best armour in game in terms of all-round runescaping and anyone who thinks dragon or rune is better is just... Stupid, really. No offence intended, but I'm convinced you've never even used barrows if your reasoning for hating it is the repairing.
