  1. Strength boost equipment gives just about the same max hit with whip, if not more. The accuracy I'm not sure about, but since you sacrifice barrow gloves it wouldn't be too far ahead (again, if at all). Since void doesnt let you have high prayer bonus, that means you spend alot of your time running up and down recharging prayer, and with a low defence level has you eating food even with a bunyip. Void+whip=fail.
  2. With a DFS I can use void range on just about anything, so it's definetly not just low level monsters. Never use void melee with anything but a GS. Since GS is only really viable at bosses and void has way too low def for pretty much all bosses, void melee is nearly completely useless. It's nice if you feel like maxing with GS's I guess...
  3. I used to use hunter xbow before people realised it was good xp, now the bolts are too expensive imo (and probably hard to buy). Normal kebbit bolts are alright but long bolts are very nice to train with. Consider it a one handed msb that hits the same, if not more, than rune arrows. However I'm not sure on how good normal kebbit bolts hit.
  4. I admit it can get a bit depressing looking at all us clones, but not much can be done about it, it's just the way RuneScape is. People will always only use the best, and since requirements for weapons and armour in RuneScape have ridiculously low requirements (even the almighty godswords, which are supposedly THE weapon of elitists in Runescape, have a measily requirement of 75 attack), it just furthers the problem. I recently started playing requiem (One of the most underated free mmorpg's out there. Don't go looking it up if blood makes you squeemish ;) ) and the diversity in equipment is imense. You'd be hard set to find two people wearing 2 pieces of armour exactly the same, let alone their entire set. The reason for it is a mix of massive selections of equipment, completely varying requirements and maybe even the fact that there aren't enough players out there to analyse every single detail of the game, like we do with Runescape. It definetly adds a great feel among the game, it makes it much easier to look at people as individual instead of just another clone. :) What Runescape would have to do is add alot of armours with unique, varying requirements. To top it off, they could add very good armours as rewards for VERY hard quests. Long term rewards like that coming from quests are very few right now.
  5. You think Jagex just decide to "let" bugs into the game lol? Working out bugs in a game is ridiculous hard, long and tedious. As the complexity of the game increases it literally becomes impossible to get rid of them before releasing the game or game update. There's also a fine line between testing out and abusing. Testing out should stop once you realise you're getting an unfair advantage. Very few players seem to be inteligent enough to not cross the line, some even whine when they get banned :|
  6. Rune X-Bow is better, the spec for Zanik's X-Bow is pretty bad considering energy drain (keep as a spec weapon if you really want) and i'm 90% sure that you can't even use broads with it.
  7. Don't go broke for a fury, although keep in mind that a fury is one of the best, if not THE best, expensive item that gives the highest stats for the money you put in. Put simply, if you're going to go out buying the expensive stuff (Bandos, godswords, 3rd age, armadyl), fury should be the first thing you buy. Barrows and a black mask should still be bought before a fury though. Glory is a nice substitute, but there's nothing like a fury :P Buy it if you don't have to sell your weapons/armour for it.
  8. So how many calories is one slice of RuneScape? People like this are idiots, they generalize, dramatize and sensationalize. I've lost 40KGs in the past 6 months, and I play RuneScape, amongst other addictive games, ALL the time. Some of the fat people out there with a loud mouth like to make themselves seem victimised, they pass the blame around and whine that someone made them fat. McDonalds doesn't make you fat by existing, YOU make YOURSELF fat by buying it! Similar concepts apply to Runescape. If parents are worried about their kids getting fat, all they have to do is push them outside for a lowly 1 hour walk each day. That 1 hour works wonders, and all the RuneScape in the world won't make you fat from it. One thing that annoyed me is the mention of cyber. Honestly, who would do that in Runescape? Unless people get horny from hearing "**** my carrot" then there isn't even a way of doing it with RuneScape's censors. Might be a problem in other games, but I've never heard of a single cyber case in RS. As for this author being worried that kids will think healing cuts in real life can be done via eating because of Runescape, I'm speachless. This must be the stupidest thing I've ever heard, even a small child is smart enough to realise eating isn't a bandaid. /Mini Rant.
  9. I've often been poisoned by monsters when I had prayers on. I think it's highly likely that those cave crawlers will poison through prayer as well.
  10. I don't think any actual grand master quest should or will be based in any one location. In our only grandmaster quest we have, we raced all over RuneScape to solve (or at least try to solve...) one epic story line. I just can't see anything being made on the calibre of WGS in any one general area. However, keeping the new tablet in mind, I think there is a big possibility fremmy will be involved in a grandmaster quest. Perhaps the tablets proclaim a prophecy that a warrior (you) slays an evil god bound to destroy RuneScape as we know it?
  11. You don't HAVE to have 750k+ in there, that's only if you want max efficiency. They will always take 10% of your money if your approval rating is 100% (They can't take more than 75k), so your fine with putting in 750k. If you want max efficiency out of your MTK make sure to check up on it the day after you put 750k in, you will get about 150k worth of stuff, sell the stuff and put it back in, now you can wait two days before going back, then 4 days, etc... MTK is a great thing to have, it's a great surprise to come back to after you just took a break from RS and see millions worth of profit lying around. Definetly go for it
  12. armoured zombies are afk'able with a bunyip. Just because they drop loot doesn't mean you HAVE to pick it up. I afk armoured zombies all the time, same xp/hr as monkies, if not more, and cheaper even if I leave drops on ground. Don't tank zombie monkies, if you plan on semi-afking while tanking them you have a death wish.
  13. Happy april fools day.
  14. D claws have an animation delay. Put simply, when you attack someone far away with the special, you will appear to use the spec while standing, but in reality you are running forward and hitting a distant enemy (you can't see this running untill the special animation has finished). It's strange and makes the d claws even more lethal, but it definitly isn't a bug nor something not known about. As for ME2, dedication is the key. Bring tank or prayer gear and just keep at it - there's no getting by it ;) If you ever are confused remember there are multiple guides out there. ME2 is one of those quests that asks for two or more guides so you can compare the explanations and make perfect sense of it all. As for your tech problem, a good first step is scanning for viruses and re-installing Java (getting the new version of course). Remember search engines are your friend - someone here seems to have a similar problem to you and some solutions are offered: http://www.java-forums.org/eclipse/312- ... 00005.html This seems to be a very common issue so just run a search and you should find solutions all over the place.
  15. Lmao, can't believe I didn't see something like this coming  ILY Tip.It
  16. I've tried it, defence can be an issue. With full void + DFS + super def pot + bunyip (no defensive prayers) I needed 1-3 pineapple pizzas per BUNYIP. Definetly afkable, but alse definetly not as good as meleeing there. Obviously you can't use salve, and you need to focus more on defence, where with melee you can just go crazy with offence and it won't matter. To answer the question, yes it works. If you have a good defence level (90+?) it is much better than yaks and afkable.
  17. Everyone loves a grande finale. Better story, better fun, better rewards. This year there will (and has) been a lack of new content due to their new policy (I'm not saying it's a bad thing) so I'm sure Jagex want to make sure the content that DOES come out is enjoyed and considered to "make up" for long periods of no new content.
  18. I'd definetly do it. Remember, the rewards aren't just the ability to kill TD's. You get 400k xp (You could use it on con if you really wanted to) and part of a dragon plate, which probably still goes for well over a mil or two. Then you have the rewards from the other ~25 quests, not to mention having all quests completed is a huge advantage on any account. I'm not too sure if you could mage them well, try to look for a TD guide in the archive/general guides.
  19. Photoshop and fireworks are two extremely powerful tools for image manipulation and creation. They are very difficult to use, and even if you can get your head around it you still need some originality and creativity for a good signature. You can always try pull something together with paint (both my av and sig were made in paint by me, I don't care enough to go out and make some amazing signature :P ). Your best bet is to head over to the Art Bazaar board and request a signature. They are made free of charge (TIF no longer lets people pay for them) and there are some really nice signatures put together there.
  20. The accomplishment of a high prayer level was NEVER the clicking aspect. Anyone who thinks that is quite misinformed. It's all about the MONEY. Honestly, you can't compare the difficulty of making the money for 99 prayer to using the bones. The money portion of the skill blows away the clicking by a mile and a half. To be honest this has almost 0 effect on my opinion of a prayer cape. I don't respect people getting carpal tunnel over a game (kudos to Jagex for realising that's NOT what games are about) but I do respect someone who has the patience to get all the money for 99 prayer AND dish it all out on one skill (that last part is much harder than many people realise). As far as xp/hr goes it is still very fast xp (the way it should be). People whining should thank their wrists it's this way, people whining that they don't respect a prayer cape anymore (/care  ) need to realise it's still a damn hard skill and this update has changed nothing for the worse.
  21. I've heard killing spiders in SoS works well at your level. I'd go with long/scimmy over obby sword, since defence will be a factor.
  22. Not really, 2/2000 is the exact same thing as 1/1000, it's just not simplified. What is true is that that for the first kill you would have 1/10k and for the next kill you would STILL have 1/10k. The chance of something occuring in random is not effected by ANY event in the past unless the event had a lasting effect on the odds of the item producing your result. A real life example to that would be rolling a die and for the next rolls using a weighted die. An example in RuneScape is code that we cannot see that increases our chance every kill. With all the math in the world you can't account for that unless you have one damn big amount of data. When we're dealing with chances of 1/1k-1/10k that is an ENOURMOUS amount of data required. Finally, try flip a coin. Flip it until you get heads or tails twice in a row. Right there you have complete proof that each event is not connected to another. Although flipping heads two times a row is a chance of 1/4, they both consist of a 1/2 chance. Some of the logic being used here declares that after a toss of heads there is a 100% chance of tails.
  23. I have sigs disabled because of bandwidth issues, but I'll take it that it still doesn't work. Obviously, make sure you HAVE a signature set up in the user control panel>Profile>Edit signature and make sure to press submit. Next, go to user controls panel>Board Preferences>Edit posting defaults and Select "Yes" in "Attach my signature by default:" Now, go to controls panel>Board Preferences>Display Options and select "Yes" To display signatures. Lastly, When you're posting a message make sure "Attach a signature (signatures can be altered via the UCP)" is ticked, this is located just below the text box. This should be ticked be default but you're better safe than sorry. Hope I helped ;)
