  1. Yeah Barrows > Rune in EVERY situation. Hell no. The degrading will shave several thousand gps off your profit/hour that you didn't have to give up. Green dragons barely hit anything; a mid-level player wearing rune could do a load with 10 tunas. The defence is very useful, certainly. But in some cases you simply don't need it. Assuming level 1 smithing (no house discount) body/legs costs 11k/hr. Green drags are ~400k hr so the amount you lose is insignificant. Also, the defence in chaos tunnel IS NEEDED. With 99 defence I take a fair amount of damage by the end of a trip. I have to agree, barrows does win over rune in each situation. The cost is simply too small to consider. To the topic creator, your setup looks good. Only thing worth replacing for is whip, beserker ring and fury ammy. They last two aren't so important. I guess you have your stats in your sig, I have sigs disabled because of bandwidth issues so I don't know if you have 70 attack or not.
  2. Never train in complete barrow sets. Only exception is Dharoks, which is very risky and a whip usually does the job much better. Just get Verac's skirt for def/prayer and any other top. Use neitznot or berserker for a helm and whip for a weapon. If you hunt the KQ or PvP alot, gets Veracs. If you like training with combat summons get Guthans. Overall, if you had to have one set for everything you do, I'd definetly say Guthans.
  3. Rate is fine. Those with high total and 100% pass rate can AFK really easily now, and we can use fremmy rings now too :D Love it.
  4. AFKing is near impossible to enforce. How can you guarantee that someone is AFKing? you can't. Even if a jmod comes up and starts whacking them with a rubber chicken and they don't respond, that doesn't mean they're AFKing. I minimize RS all the time while I train combat, there's nothing wrong with that. I even get up to get a drink, it's not like the world's going to end because of it. The only debatable type of AFKing is something like going to bandits with a bunyip and going to watch a TV show for the next couple of mins. The soloution is pretty simple for this. If they don't click for long periods of time they get a random. Jagex keeps track of how many times this happens and if it happens frequently then the player gets randoms even more. Since Jagex has already done similar to the latter, I don't see what the problem is.
  5. I can guarantee if your MTK is going to give you a clue, you still can get one. I've been getting alot of them and my MTK just gave me a clue a ~3 hours ago. Remember that if you choose to open the screen with what you have collected, it will be sent to your bank no matter what. Perhaps you sent your rewards to your bank without realizing it? Clue scrolls are random things, they can be hard to get sometimes while at other times they'll be your first drop.
  6. Bandos is excellent for training. Bandos actually speeds up xp/hr unlike DFS which slows it down considerably.
  7. Some ideas taken from the champion scroll guide :P Imp : GWD - range 'em Earth warriors: Chaos tunnels. Ghouls: Probably best to stay near that altar in the swamps Hill giants: Tav dungeon Goblin: Goblin house Hobglin: I'd go hobgoblins in the skeletal wyvern dungeon. Plenty of good spots around though. Jogre: Try the dungeon near the harpy bugs. Lessers: Taverly Skele: Desert treasure skeles. May as well get some good exp in with the champ scroll hunting :D
  8. Some people want to do something other than no life a game sacrificing a huge amount of their life to achieve several 99's. These sort of updates are awesome, that's almost undeniable. But new game content should come with them. Many, many people want to get out of the regime of grinding at skills constantly and quests provide a much needed distraction (surprisingly better than "distraction and diversions").
  9. If HD and/or summoning was taken out now I'd probably consider taking a break. Runescape is better than ever.
  10. In Firefox, go into tools and then into options. Click on "Content" tab. Make sure both "enable java" and "enable javascript" are checked. Not sure if you'll need javascript but you need it for Tip.It anyway  Not sure about the hardware though. I run a 2+ year old machine and run RSHD very smoothly at max settings. It was a very good machine at the time but I'd say it's rather outdated nowadays. I can guarantee RAM isn't your problem since you have double my RAM.
  11. Junk isn't something you collect - it's something you can choose to pick up while doing other things (actual money making, training, etc.). As said, hunting for junk is a bad idea.
  12. This, except for the last bit. Strength is lowest priority at bosses by a rather decent amount. Attack --> Defence ----------> Strength
  13. Yes. I'm really sorry for the time it's taking but I've been both busy and distracted. I've finished up on maxed melees so I'll try to get back to this guide as fast I can!
  14. Well in RSC a small bug could have easily effected nearly the entire community. Very, very, very difficult to find a bug that does that with today's RS population. Jagex also didn't have to worry as much about their image back then - roll backs produce some very angry users (for good reason!).
  15. Yeah, that's what I was thinking... Anyway, you cannot just have small guessable passwords and expect no consequences. Every single person should have a password that no living human would guess within their life time. Seriously. But since it's too late for that you can try appeal (if you can) but that's about it. Jagex doesn't listen to these kinds of excuses, it's simply too hard to prove. Especially since your brother would have been under the same network you were.
  16. With patience you can sell them. I've had an offer of 44k willow logs up for ~3 months and i've sold 80% of them so far.
  17. Jagex doesn't have to announce each banning. The bans happened, but I'd imagine many people easily got away with this without being reported or detected. It is very hard to tell with 100% ccertainty WHO actually said the alt code. If there are people with pub off you have multiple possible suspects. Turn pub chat back on to tell who did it and your game crashes.
  18. Most my friends know I play. They're always on and off with playing RS. One month they play the next they're saying "OMG you still play that?" and the following month they're back to RS. I honestly don't care about what someone says about me, because when it comes down to it I know I'm better off than them in every way. Anyone that lets people get to them like that needs to re-think their perspective on other people. Anyone who talks down to someone because they play a certain game is a hypocrit  I don't get much said to me about RS anyway, probably because I'm a foot taller than most people in my year and they have second thoughts about ticking me off
  19. Cannons aren't allowed in GWD. Even if they were, it would be a bad idea.
  20. Sorry that I can't look into it myself but my internet is capped and loading a picture is similar to watching paint dry. Are randoms still capable of killing someone? Just hoping I can finally say goodbye to my ring of life and use my berserker and archer rings everywhere while AFK'ing :D Randoms that I'd consider lethal would be things such as strange plant, dwarf, the thief w/ crossbow, certers. I know I've forgotten some there.
  21. Use both, but ever since the release of enhanced Excalibur the B2P method has been made almost obsolete to those who own a bunyip and EE. I can camp in full void+DFS with buntip and EE specs and never, ever need a B2P spell. Mind you, I'm 99 defence. Although with lower defence and using a tank setup you still wouldn't need B2P. It's nice to bring some B2P tabs along as a backup, but there really is no need. B2P just slows you down if anything.
  22. I have no clue about the boosts but isn't it the same thing by using an Excalibur as a Dbaxe? Couldent you just say the 700 gp for the Super Defense is made back by the profit of the trip? You don't use enhanced excalibur for the def boost, that's just a bonus. You use it for the 20hp it heals. I like to bring a dds and enhance excalibur at the same time. If my hp is going fine with bunyip, I use DDS. If some lucky hits get me then I pull out my excalibur and I'm back to full hp. :) Consider it stackable food.
  23. Yes they all stack, but don't use a d baxe spec. The ~3k you spend per super str pot is EASILY made back by the 500k+ cash you make a trip. Use a dragon dagger (no poison) or enhanced excalibur while training.
  24. The special still works, it just doesn't do anywhere near as much damage (20% of 50% is 10% so you'd take 10% of the monster's max hp away instead of 20%). That's why people switch to diamond at below 50%, so their specials are actually helpfull instead of wasting a combat round and your hp. Although I don't know what would happen if a ruby bolt spec hit at 4 hp or less :?
  25. Torag plate Verac skirt Whip Fury Berserker/neitznot Drag boots RFD gloves Should have enough money left for a berserker ring or nearly enough for full guthans. That's about as efficient as it gets, high priced weapons and armour = 100% overated.
