  1. I'm relatively sure they're dragons, I've never seen a salve being suggested in a guide leading to believe they're not undead :P I haven't watched the video but think I should warn you incase you don't know, that at some time these were nerfed and a certain method of killing them somehow became a deathwish due to the nerf. I can't remember what it was that changed, but you should check comments on youtube and be sure it's up to date. I used to kill a decent ammount of them, never got granite legs. Combine that with what I hear on forums and I think it's safe to say it's very rare to get granite legs.
  2. It took me a day and a half of some not so bad no-lifiing  I think everyone feels a bit confused about it the first time, just be a collector in your first few trips and you should be fine, seeing as collectors don't really have to do anything at all to get a win, just pick up eggs to get points for the team. I'm having a hard time reading through all that, some paragraphs would be nice in it :| You said you have torag plate and legs? If so this would be the best for you, assuming you don't have enough for bandos legs and such. Neitznot helm (Black mask for when you slay. NEVER EVER get a d med, it's the biggest piece of junk in game imo.) Fighter torso (If too lazy, use you're torag plate, if you really want to sell it which would be a bad idea, use rockshell or rune, they have the same stats.) Torag legs (If not, go with rockshell or rune legs, if not get d legs. D legs are pretty bad value and I don't think the impressivness of having them is as great as it once was.) Remember, you don't want to be "making up" for def/str loss, you want to just keep on building it up :)
  3. Remember you still can use forums and trading worlds to sell you're items, you're not limited to a 5% range of what Jagex tells you forever. How addy bars have been affected so far, I'm yet to check.
  4. I don't really understand what you're trying to ask? But yes, due to unavoidable human error there are some prices that are of. It just means you're going have to sell the old fashioned way for certain items until Jagex fixes prices. You're moving from having to manually sell every single thing you have to less then a tenth (aprox), not much to complain about
  5. You should be able to get guthans easily within 3-7 days if you got what it takes to no-life down at aviansies :P Use the mil you have now to buy prayer pots and maybe even prayer gear, eg. Mitre. Or you could try using bones to peaches (if you have it) and save that mil for when you're about to buy Guthans
  6. It's definetly great fun to use and I dont regret getting it even if I have weapons better for training then the anchor. It's been proven that you get more exp per hour using dragon long/scim, but the anchor is still good fun and if you can't afford expensive items like GS's it's nice to have just to stuff around for you're max hit :P However if you're just looking for a training weapon (probably for str mainly) then it probably isn't what you're looking for.
  7. Should the prices be cheaper then that of the market it would kill the economy for runecrafting, so I'd imagine Jagex were forced to nerf this store. Though I'm surprised the store isn't even slightly cheaper.
  8. It's a marginal difference, but yes they'd be better. At the time I only had guthans and didn't really see much point in spending an extra mil just for a highly similar armour :P
  9. I would have never thought an obby maul, costing what, ~300k? (haven't been to the obby market for a long while), could EVER score 2-3 versus a AGS, especially at those combat levels  You can't denie how fun it would be/is to have those huge hits, I personally would buy it just for the high hits, efficiency regardless. It'd be a nice replacment for a dds :P (Not exactly free though). Haven't GS prices gone done? I would have thought so with the duel arena update, which was pretty much the only place where GS's really shone.
  10. That's an area for a quest, the second part of trhe fairy tale series I believe. I don't recall if it gives farming exp, if it does it's completely minimal exp. Star flowers are used as a second ingredient for the "Magic essence" potion, which is an orange potion that raises magic by 3 levels, needed for the quest.
  11. No one can EVER say for sure what prices will end up as. If everyone panics for some reason because some rumour came up that they were going to drop alot then everyone will probably rush to sell their chins, probably lowering their price. However I haven't really seen anything that concerns chins like that so I doubt it. With GE coming up it isn't wise to try and sell/buy things because of it unless you really know what you're doing.
  12. Of course you're allowed to have an opinion. I have nothing against anyone who prefers a method different to mine, I don't own the game so in all honesty it doesn't really concern me if you make your money by buying buckets from stores filling them with water and selling them to gen stores. I'm merely debating the topic you brought up and quoting you makes it much easier for me to do so and make sure I didn't miss out on any of your points. If you're not up for debating it then nobody's forcing you to, many flame wars start because people mistake a debate for an attack against them. This isn't politics so the debate can get heated to avoid a boring discussion, or as you put it, drama
  13. Firstly, no one here is talking for the author, you're debating this with the users of the guides so don't go needlessly go throwing things like that at the author on mine or anyone elses account. Almost leading me to believe you hardly read what I said, I do NOT deny that speed is one of the top factors for fast income here, but I argue that this method is just as effective when used properly, by those who have the stats that can. Not at all, I'm perfectly capable to make my own tests and calculations on how fast I can get exp or money per hour. Don't go making assumptions on people from a irrelevant topic it's better just to debate the topic on hand with the information you know about. That's about as well backed up as me saying "My method is a zil times better! Litterally!". It could very well be better for you but don't go around denieing people from considering using a method that might be better for them. Again you're just hinting towards my point. The more you're stats change the more you're outcome changes and the more you can play around with setups. I really don't see what you're trying to prove by saying that, it's going to be faster EITHER way if you get 10 range levels. Yet you lack any real reasoning. I take this as sarcasm? Again, you make me feel like you read the first line of my arguement and assumed what the rest will be. I do NOT denie bones to peaches costs monet to get, but so does you're prayer. I'm not about to repeat myself on that arguement again, so re-read what I orignally said. Don't take it as an insult when I said rubbish, I was just surprised you'd bring a point up with so little logic behind it. Hope debating effectivness of methods is allowed in PMG :P
  14. The thing is with the excalibur is that it only provides a normal def pot worth of levels, not super. Seeing as sup def pots don't really cost much it's probably better just to use msb specs instead, that's if you're using the msb setup. Yes, bone bolts do work great there, aviansies have low defence so there's no real need for any expensive bolts. As for the above post, I agree on the point that it's hardly different rate of killing them, though I'm not up for saying which I think is better, it's an issue of which style fits you and it's pretty tiring with people almost bad-mouthing the other guide just because their preffered one suits them better. I'm in your bracket of 70-85 range (being 85) and I notice pretty much no speed difference when done efficiently with proper equipment. The loss of a few range points for alot of defence points is completely un-noticable to me as far as hitting Aviansies goes, and the extra minute to gather bones sure as hell isn't losing me as much money as the bank trips and prayer pots cost me. Of course, people's stats differ and by all means the prayer method is more efficient for many, but you're just going to have to put up with the fact that there are better methods for other people, though I don't see why that's so hard in the first place. As for bones to peaches costing me 600k arguement, that's COMPLETE rubbish. I use B2P for so many other things, just like you use prayer for other things. If you're using that arguement that I have to spend 600k to get bones to peaches, I can use the arguement that you can easily be spending 5Mil+ getting you're prayer level, which is where the two methods really differ. However that's ridiculous for both me and you to count as the price for hunting Aviansies. The only other place where there's a difference in time spent is the actual eating, which is what, 0.5 seconds per food eaten? I don't mind losing 0.5 seconds at all.
  15. SoS came far after metal boots. Before metal boots (I realise they're P2P) and therefore SoS F2P only really had the option of leather boots or nothing. But yes, climbing boots were used by all high levels before they changed metal boots to give strenght bonus. Even when they were changed people were often using climbing boots seeing as they gave the same str bonus as rune, and the defence was only really noticable in the stat screen. Until of course dragon boots came out which give double the bonus climbing give.
  16. In the wild dogs only room (look in bigmonkeyak's slayer guide in AoW for a pic) there are easily 8+. Very good for getting through 30+ assignment very fast. ONLY use Ardougne if asignment is in the teens or lower, the dogs there are spread out and few in number compared to Brimhaven.
  17. Have a cannon? It's worth it. Low on sup str pots and can make them yourself? It's worth it. Even if you aren't under those two catagories they're still pretty good exp, and very much so easy to range with all the walls and such there, personally I wouldn't really consider skipping.
  18. Put private on off, buy seriously it isn't a matter of surviving, more of a matter of, well, I don't even know if saying putting up with it is suffice to say, a day of not talking I could care less about, especially seeing as you've got the best forum around to chat in
  19. Very very very very slow. It's price is over 3m (like 3.2m or something). The special attack is incredible and very fun to use, especially with dragon arrows. HOWEVER, I've timed how long it took to kill low defence monsters eg experiments, ogres and greaters and then compared to how long it took with both darts and a msb. The darts were by far faster then any method I have ever found (only on low def monsters, making them perfect training weapons), the msb came second and dark bow last. It's accuracy and double arrow hit just doesn't make up for it's speed, it's gruelingly slow and the only place where it was really the best range weapon was the duel arena. After Jagex had one of their moments last week the dark bow isn't really something you want as far as value for money goes.
  20. Neitznot helm/beserker Torag plate Torag legs Glory Whip Rune kite / Obby shield Rune / Dragon boots RFD gloves Best cape you got, legends if you think you'll be dieing in the attempt, though unlikely IMO. Ring of life A high defence setup that should be able to get you through, bring super sets and a dds with sharks. If you still can't do it bring sara pots with a sup set (minus the sup def) which has all 4 doses in strenght and attack.
  21. Could you imagine world 2 if there was all caps typing? My eyes would be sore after 3 seconds of all the morons thinking a sea of caps makes for better sale. I'd feel no guilt in reporting someone whos using illegal method to write in all caps, it's a self-centered and irratating thing.
  22. Don't gorilla monkeys constantly heal themselves when they get to low health meaning I can never get its bones? If you have low stats, you have to score lucky hits. Prefferably try dharoks or dds specs when they' low hp. But then again, even with decent stats just whipping can take a long while to get the kill aswell.
  23. Edit: Sorry didn't realise I was running low on cash already, seems I'll be hunting for them :( (That dragon drop sure would be nice round about now :P ) From what I hear from friends rock crabs are better then dags, may go try them out.
  24. Please do not suggest fishing them. Hey, I've been ranging metals for awhile now and although I have a setup that I consider as efficient as I'll be able to afford, it's gotton pretty repititive now that I've far surpassed the 500 kill mark without as much as a dragon half, leg or skirt (roughly equal iron kills to steel). Seeing as it seems I'm not going to be getting much fun out of a nice drop any time soon I've decided to spice up my method of ranging them  The 5k addy bolts I bought to change from mith isn't that great and so I decided to turn to the bolt I've really wanted to try out, pearl enchanted. Forums are all buy no sell for these, so it seems I'm going to have to make them. Getting the pearls is where I'm not so sure, I despise big net fishing now, fishing is only somewhat entertaining when I see a nice inventory of sharks or monks in a trip, not a couple of leather boots, leather gloves, a single seeweed and fish that don't heal anywhere near what I could be getting at 80+ fishing. I know lighthouse dags drop them every now and then, but is there anything that drops them anymore frequently or should I just stick to lighthouse dags? Thanks :P
  25. Possible to do without trouble at 70, should be no trouble at all at 80+. I've made it to jad 2 times (lagging out 3 other times half way through) at 80-85 range and had LOADS of pots left. Thing is if you have unstable internet connections it matters little what your range level is :( (or rather, a slow internet connection when you get to jad). Training on any (except green maybe) dragons to make up for the cost works great, I remember I got my cost down at black dragons and didn't end up spending that much money, you'll probably end up spending even less at blues because of their low hp/defence comapred to black dragons. Just need to watch out when you're bows are about to deplete, because you'll run forward and seeing as you have no anti-fire shield, I think you can guess what happens :P (Good idea to use the bow switching technique that always keeps one full, especially at black drags).
