  1. Why are you making a topic about a show you don't like? Anyway, I think it's funny.
  2. That's an achievement now? I'm still considering checking this album out just for the sake of it, but it seems like a waste of precious bandwidth.
  3. Ergh. I absolutely hate them. They annoy the hell out of me.. I'm not bagging you out or condemning you for liking to them. The only reason I commented is because of what you said. :) Between the Buried and Me - Alaska (Album) I intend on listening to their self-titled next, but that depends on whether or not my parents start walking around--they don't really like metal, so I try and restrict my listening of it to times when they're not around.
  4. Everyone seems to be forgetting that part.. Anyway, I've just started working on an article. I haven't pm'd assassin about it yet, I'll do that when I'm almost finished (which will probably be in about a week, haha). I'm not sure if it will be good enough, but even if it's not, the knowledge I'll gain about the band will still be useful enough. :)
  5. They never really did much for me..
  6. That guy was full of crap. To an extent. The thing about time travel is that we already know how it works. The greatest problem is building a spaceship fast enough for it to be useful. When it comes to wormholes, there are a lot more variables, and things we are unsure of. I think assassin_696 said it earlier--we know that for wormholes to be traversable, we need some "exotic matter". The problem with that is that we don't even know what this exotic matter is, we just know it's necessary.
  7. You heard correctly. Nattramn's (Silencer, Diagnose: Lebensgefahr) vocals are like a tamer version of Landfermann's vocals on Dictius te Necare, so you probably won't like it. Thanks for the recommendation, How2PK. Haven't checked it out yet, but I will soon. Cheese, try Blut aus Nord. Really cool experimental/ambient black metal from France. The Work Which Transforms God is without a doubt my favourite of their albums. I know Procession of the Dead Clowns is a horrible name for a piece of music, but the music itself is great.
  8. Anaal Nathrakh - Eschaton (Album) Awesome study music.
  9. The legal drinking age in Australia is 18. The majority of my group(s) of friends only drink every now and then at parties, and tend to not get drunk very often. Like for my 17th birthday party, I didn't really care whether or not people brought alcohol, and out of the 40 or so people that turned up, not one brought any. It would be great if that was the norm, but it's not. I enjoy alcohol, and I drink every now and then, but I've never understood why people get drunk just for the sake of it. I've only been drunk once, and I did that when I was at home. It was basically just to see what it was like, and to see what my limit was, in a safe environment. The first hour or so of it was enjoyable, but in my opinion the fall back to Earth makes it not worth it. I really doubt dropping the legal drinking age to 18 will make any difference at all. People will still binge drink regardless of what the drinking age is, just because of the society we're in. I think the thing that made the difference for me was my parents' attitude to it. Neither of them like alcohol, but if I want something, I give them money and they go to the store and buy it for me. The fact that they trust me so much and the fear of losing their respect, as well as logic, have helped me developed a pretty negative attitude to binge-drinking. But whatever. If people want to drink 750mL of Bundaberg Rum and get alcohol poisoning, go for it. As long as they don't harm anyone else in the process, it's just natural selection. (Bit of a cynical view, I know.)
  10. It depends on the kind of kids' television you're talking about. When it comes to children's quiz/game shows and the like, I agree with you. They're absolutely horrible. But some of the comedy, both animated and real, can be quite hilarious.
  11. @ Lenticular: Mm.. cake.. And yes, that is the best review I've ever given of any band. As for you Adio, listen to Bethlehem. I in particular recommend their album Dictius te Necare. The vocals in that album are some of the most insane vocals I've ever heard. Pretty cool album. I know I've recommended them before in this thread, and I apologize if you were the person I recommended them to. The thread's getting too big for me to be able to be bothered checking.
  12. To all the people naming kids' shows as the worst shows on television, please put a gun to your head.
  13. Not exactly. The speed of light can very depending on the medium through which it travels. The speed of light as used in equations, or c, is the speed of light in a vacuum. Not really relevant to the conversation, but I thought it was worthwhile making that clear.
  14. My city's in the top twenty. According to A Current Affair, my city is the most dangerous city in Australia. I lol'd.
  15. Really? I can sum it up in one. Too bad this is a g-rated forum. Does it count as one word if you hyphenate? OT: I don't see how it's even debatable. It's quite obviously a load of crap.
  16. It helps, but there's some pimples that you honestly can't pop, and that's the type that people with really bad acne tend to get. I have fairly good skin. I get a few pimples around the hairline of my forehead, but that's just because i use conditioner to the roots.
  17. At least a 4/10.
  18. Wow, I have a BMI of 18.. And I'm gonna die when I'm 73. :)
  19. Yeah, I thought it was fantastic. And it's absolutely nothing like Knocked Up. :)
  20. 1. Between the Buried and Me (Progressive Metalcore) 2. Radiohead (Alternative/Electronic) 3. Regina Spektor (Indie) 4. Hella (Math Rock) 5. Joanna Newsom (Folk) 6. of Montreal (Indie Pop) 7. Tool (Progressive Metal) 8. Anaal Nathrakh (Blackened Grindcore) 9. Madvillain (Hip-Hop) 10. Bonnie 'Prince' Billy (Alternative Country) This is the hardest it's ever been to separate them into an order. They're all really close. I was tempted to put Bonnie 'Prince" Billy higher, but I've only just started listening to him.
  21. I'm not sure I quite understand what you mean. From the perspective of the stationary observer, the light is traveling at the same velocity as the spaceship (well, it's moving 0.0001c faster).
  22. I can't really imagine angels dancing on pinheads. My view of angels tends to be that of impressively muscular, 10-foot-tall men with flowing locks of almond hair, draping white garments, and disproportionate swords. Those kinds of guys can never dance.
