  1. ice barraging rock lobsters "costs" 5k per crimson or so, which is the best charm to farm (bursting is 4.5k/charm) I'm assuming that a method of training that nets 130k magic xp/hr and 70k hp xp/hr would not be profitable, so I'm going with crimsons being under 4.5k... considerably. Greens and golds, although not necessarily as quick to gather, are obviously less desirable because of inferior xp, so I'd say in the 1-2k range at the most. Blues are extremely slow to gather because of their rarity, probably 10k+.
  2. I've got 2-3k zil kills and have never experienced this. I know people with multiple times that and they have never experienced it. I haven't been in the last week or so, so it's possible I guess.
  3. my slayer horse rode too slow :( grats <3
  4. thankies lol did some slayer and some summoning played with the iron titan some, no amazing specs yet but it's pretty good down to 500 charms now, I'll get 96 as soon as I can
  5. Yes they can. Last I checked this game was made by Jagex. They can pretty much make any item any price they want and make it so people have to pay that price. This is not a democracy or a real life market, its a game. Therefore its not up to the people to set prices on how much things are, its up to Jagex. Now wether you personaly choose to accept Jagex's prices is up to you, but that is not saying that YOU set the prices. YOU simply accept or dont accept the prices JAGEX sets. Jagex has a red ball. You can tell me its blue, yellow, white or its green. But that dosent change the fact.. its still a red ball. In most cases no, however there are groups of merchants (Like A C I D Y's merchant clan) that can and have changed the market to their favor on certain items. And those who do buy those masks often get them from GE and then junk trade them for TONS of profit. (see below on what I mean by junk trade profit) Junk now is actually easily accessable and very profitable, you just have to have a means to trade with it. A common practice now is to make summons, and turn them into summon scrolls. Collecting these scolls as junk, once traded you make ALL of your money back + ~20-30% PROFIT, in addition to all the summon xp you gained. It turns out junk trading like that is VERY profitable, which is why people do it. Let me give you a scenario: Person A gets a Mask on GE from Person B for 500k. Person A then takes the opertunity to spend 10M on summon. Person A then spends then 10M making all his/her summons into scrolls, and then Junk trades the scrolls and the mask for 13.5M. Person A effectivly makes about 3M profit and tons of Summon xp off person B, for almost no work at all (other than gathering charms). (Editors Notes: Some masks are 50m+ correct? If that is true, you could buy 4 masks, and get 200m worth of summon supplies. Not including getting charms, you could essentially get 99 summon not only for free but making about 60M during the process using this junk trade method. For JUST 4 MASKS. I have nothing against anyone who does this method, but I think it needs to be corrected.) As for people who agree to pay the 50m+, its because since almost everyone is using the junk trade method, thats what people have to abide by. You can get lucky if you leave a request in GE for a mask, but you most likley wont get it, simply because people hold onto them to do what was described above. Why would you sell a mask for 500k when you could make millions and get tons of summon xp for it too? It rips people off, adding a skill's XP onto the cost to get an item. The issue here is, junk is making items exclusivly "junk trade only", which is very very bad, as it allows people to charge MASSIVE ammounts of money for an item that shouldnt be that much. Basically the GE was designed for this not to happen, but people found a way around it, and now GE messes things up since thats not how it was designed to function. Its like using a fising pole for fishing, and then a bunch of people come and divert the steam around your lake. Eventually the lake will dry up. Not gunna catch many fish with no water. And until stuff are sold/bought through GE, GE prices cant change. You say well why dont they just change the GE price? The problem is, how do they know what the "traded price" really is. Jagex dosent consider Junk Trading in its prices, which is why the GE prices never change. As I said before, Jagex now sets the prices in this game. Its just up to individuals if they accept the price Jagex sets or not. What Jagex really needs to do is 1 of 2 things. 1) Make a shard/scroll exchange like there is for pouches. 60% back for scrolls. This would get rid of almost all the overpriced Summon Scrolls. 2) Limit free trades to the ammout of 30k, and everything else over 30k must be traded through GE. The main issue im saying here is, As long as items are in the "junk trade" loop, prices on GE will not adjust, as few items are being traded through GE. The more and more items that get "junk traded" the worse the situation will become. At the expense of making profit for ourselves, we are digging our own graves. Jagex can tell us things are worth whatever they want, but they can't force the players who gather them to sell them for that price. Animal masks are simply priced much lower than they should be given their rarity - why should I sell it for 500k? Another thing to note is that Jagex says boil scrolls are worth 550 gp each... so what's wrong with selling them? Additionally, making junk is not absurd money. It is slower than godwars, which is the source of income for most serious summoners. ADDITIONALLY, jagex has recently lowered the prices of many scrolls, making it more profitable to switch them for shards than to turn them to scrolls and sell as junk. I recently bought a saradomin godsword for 50m + 18m of junk (which I got by buying gilded legs in junk trades), and then sold the SGS in the GE. I traded the gilded legs for a bat mask. Did I "scam" the owner? No, first of all he took my offer gladly. This is because SGSes are dropping millions each day, and are very difficult to sell in the GE - I took a risk by deciding to try it. Risk rewards. My intention is not to make scrolls (as mentioned before, the added time involved in converting pouches to scrolls makes swapping for shards a superior choice), but simply to keep the mask until it has risen to its true price. This is fairly certainly below the 15-20m it is worth on the forums, but I do plan to make a considerable amount of money on it. It's tying up under 1m of cash, so I'm willing to keep it until I can sell it for what I feel is a fair amount of money. Ultimately, selling items with junk is not "scamming", it is simply counterbalancing the fact that you are selling an extremely desirable object, by adding on undesirable objects. The same things happens in the US Senate in almost every bill passed - if the democrats want to pass an environmental bill, no way will it survive unless they tack on something about cutting back welfare to sweeten the deal for the republicans. And don't forget that people are willing to buy the masks with junk too...
  6. just lit all 14 with yew logs (giving the first 7 people 5 logs to keep it going) and got my adze lol. may train woodcutting now. if I'd known normal logs last 10 minutes I would have done those haha the adze is nice, and the other gear is fairly useful too, but I'd hoped for more than a one time marathon out of this update... oh well can't complain, firemaking just got its first update ever since shade burning lol (barbarian firemaking and firemaking familiars worse are worse than the regular way so they don't count )
  7. That is because Jennica (the mother) died before the bandits killed the rest of em. The family was probably the one to bury her. Although, it is a good question as to who buried the rest of the family. well I'm sure there's some significance to the fact that the mother's message is the only one we can fully see. the other ones appear to just be "here lies the body of" "here lies buried" etc etc... conceivable to have been done by the bandits. MY THEORY LIVES!
  8. this was discovered the day of the quest, unfortunately you can't do anything in it atm my guess was that it's where the bandits buried the family after killing them, but "buried in loving memory of" doesn't sound quite right I can't imagine who would have buried them if everyone was killed though
  9. it lags enough that I only use it for more relaxed things like slayer, so given that I play in low detail a substantial amount of time, yes I do appreciate it :)
  10. gained 20-30m xp, got 99 magic/hitpoints, as well as 92 summoning (95 banked :)). only got 3 hilts in thousands of gwd bosses killed though lol didn't get to play as much as I hoped to
  11. @Bill Cosby - the rune sword was solo nub :P @Etp - I'd rather spend the money on 99 prayer since 99 slayer will get me 99 summoning anyways and I don't know where my luck is D: it never really came to gwd lol @Abe & Jordan & Vann & Death & City thanks and ilu colo please come back, you know exactly what to do :P I'll do my best to get some nice gwd drops but now that school has started and I'm taking considerably more challenging courses than last year I'm not sure how much I'll be able to play. My mom is especially warlike about this lol, I really can't get on for a long enough streak to do a solo trip. I may be slaying (except on weekends :P) for a good while. And speaking of sara, I had some fun in the junk market lol. As anyone who follows prices knows, the SGS (along with many other expensive items) is tanking at the moment. At the time, I had 3m of junk in geyser titan scrolls so I decided to pull a trick - buy gilded legs to get junk, make some junk from scrolls, and buy an SGS for 50M + 18M junk and sell it in the GE! I was well into this, making wolpertinger scrolls when I realized what a waste of time it was, lol. Between the increased time for each trip to the obelisk, and the time I had to spend in W2 I decided that I'm better off swapping for shards, what I plan to do from now on. However, I did go through with it :P I also traded the gilded legs for a bat mask, which I have atm. Useful if I ever need to ditch some junk lol. 95 summoning next.
  12. graves aren't affected by lag - if you log out the stuff stays. the gravestone only serves to remind you what square it was in. I don't know what caused your stuff to disappear but it wasn't the fact that you lagged out
  13. void mage is rather useless, as it does not raise the actual damage dealt/spell, and the accuracy boost (assuming maxed mage bonus with other items) is less significant than the boost from ahrims void melee is useful in certain situations - obviously the fact that you lose so many equipment slots (most notably barrows gloves) makes it inferior to standard equipment unless using a godsword, which has massive enough bonuses that the 10% is more significant than the +12s from barrows gloves. black masks and salve amulets do not stack with void, and provide higher bonuses, so void is not the armor of choice when fighting undead creatures or your assigned slayer monster. void melee is advantageous when fighting with a godsword against things that you can't use a salve/black mask on (most notably players). the loss of defense is a large sacrifice, but if you're in a situation where offense is the only thing that matters then void is the armor of choice void range generally outstrips dragonhide/armadyl in all areas. unlike magic, the majority of the attack bonus in ranged comes from the weapon, not the armor. therefore replacing the armor does not have a huge negative impact on damage dealt. the slight loss of accuracy (negligible especially when training on regular monsters, who usually have very low defense anyways) is greatly compensated for by the increased damage... if training with a powerful weapon (with an average hit of 15+), you will hit 2 harder every attack, which translates to 8 more xp every attack... it's been awhile since I trained ranged in such an old-fashioned way but that's a difference of 8k xp/hour easily. if chinning, it's a difference of 20k+! and of course if using a dark bow + dragon arrows, or dragon bolts (e), one attack can do as much as 10 extra damage with void range - very significant for getting KOs.
  14. oh no 1/4 of a combat level

  18. haha 1.5m from bones/hides? that's awesome, if hilts weren't dropping like mad I'd take a break from gwd and get 96 <_
  19. I don't see why it's necessary to disable BH or Clan/Castle Wars, or even quests... if people want to do those things in pvp worlds fine.
  20. thankies been too lazy to post lately 3rd rune sword :| up to 4 rarer than hilt drops now, plus a clue which probably makes it 5, this sucks lol. read j35u5 m4's solo hilt in 6 kills so I kind of hate him :P this was from star rofl made me lol I've got charms for 95 summoning, probably won't be getting it anytime soon though
