If you wanted a tourny on Halo, or any other online game through an Xbox, PS3, or whatever console you have, go to that specific oriented forum on the internet, Tip.It is for RuneScape, not to branch out into Video Games. I don't know, but there's plenty of gaming forums out there specifically made for this... Off-Topic doesn't have enough users who play the variety of games to keep such a thing going... :x

If Jagex can't have a proper economy running in their game, and they've left holes like these for the players, why not? It's not right for us to get something, or make it, and then have it undersold, or oversold? That just takes the motivation out of most of RuneScape; for money.

The comparison were extremely weak, and short-standard. The similarities are stretched extremely thin as well. I really don't think this article did justice in comparing a real world organization, or sport, to an online sport/organization. In the situation TS described rarely ever happens as he described it. We all know the other clan has individuals in it, with their own opinions and standards, yet we don't flame just because, or for extremely low reasons like osmeone moving over to another clan, or someone scamming someone whose in another clan, and doesn't get kicked. I'm not sure, but I'm speaking from the pure clan world, and such situations wouldn't merit a flame war between two clans, the only thing that would is bragging about 'owning' a clan, when that clan basically dominates the bragging clan. That's when things get messy. Little annoyances like the ones described cause bitterness but not hate.

Yep, and I'm waiting to see if it was only for the previous skin, this new default skin may have a different outcome with this problem. Though, I'd still like ideas on why this may have been happening, or is happening. - Internet is down though, so I can't check forums -

The 'give me + ratings' is only created because there's no danger of receiving negative ratings anymore. Taking out the one creates another problem. Also, I'd assume moderators would still be moderating it, which would decrease abuse drastically. I honestly think the abuse thing is going to far, and we're just picturing worst case scenarios that are only going to happen without implementing said features; 5 ratings per user to receive per day; 2 ratings per user to give per day; strictly enforcing it's rules; post count requirement. The post count requirement I'd have to agree to though. 50-75 posts. Just because it seems appropriate to reward users for the posting they've made, and 50-75 isn't hard to get as already expressed by others in previous topics, so it's not restraining anyone either. It just stops multiple accounts being created to abuse the system.

Or you can have a 3-6 second default time before the balloon pops up, though that is a bit long. Also how did it annoy you? you have to hover over the link, and then it would present the preview?

Could put in custom sayings in the signature, I really don't know where, or why this would be put on, but I do know people who have their own little title, or moto, like someone has UltimateCooker in their RS name, their moto/title could be 'The Best Cooker In Town'. Or 'OoC For Life', or whatever clan or organization they may be in. I don't know, just adds some kind of personal feature to it, this could also be used for clans...? I don't know, I think don't think I'm getting into it's actual potential, and it's a very weak addition to the signatures, but it is something no one else has, and people would use it. Also integrating these with Tip.It's own personal memberlist feature (if this does happen...) could show some great things for it, like clans having their own memberlist page, own portable memberlist; like would have the clans stats, link and other associated things on it? So like average hp, total members, overall combat lvls would be display on it...etc? Clans could have their own personal stat sigs oriented from the sig generator. Like, they propose a background, and other things for the signature, and the logo of Tip.It would be on it as payment for the personal clan sig generated, this could also be integrated with that Clan Profile field being discussed somehow? The clan provides all the graphical material needed though...? Just thought of these.

Talk about over protection. I'm seriously going to get mad if I see more parents protecting their kids from things that aren't even that bad. Seriously, we have the same issues from the past as we do now, our behaviors changed, our issues didn't, hence behaviors have little to do with anything.

I don't know, but there's no Jump To Forum box or whatever you wanna call it, at the right bottom of the topic? You could select it and it would take you to OT, or General, or Blogscape. We'll see, made a topic about it in T&C, everything points to Tip.It's ends, yet no one else has it.

As I stated in another topic in Forum Suggestions, I thought this was a forum bug, but apparently it's on my end. Anyways, for PM's I do not receive a pop-up at all. I've enabled everything both on my browser and in the board preferences. What makes it extremely weird is that it goes across three browsers, Opera, FF2/FF3(didn't work on FF2, installed FF3, uninstalled, then reinstalled FF3 with all settings at default), and IE7. O/S is vista, I've got the latest updates on Java, and any bugs that have appeared that are similar to this, I've checked out through-out several tech forums, and nothing. This problem only arises on the Tip.It forums, nowhere else - and yes I've tripled checked everything in my profile - my pop-up blocker on everything is disabled, windows defender is disabled, I've even disabled most of my processes except for the mandatory ones. Nothing works. Thoughts? - My system: viewtopic.php?f=45&t=699349

Those who are unknown to the internet still bat an eye, and disbelieve everything I say from the internet. I also like how it happens, the internet gets it, 3 weeks later the media gets it. :)

Is it possible to give us a run down on how the process of selecting the signature and it's customizations would be working? Or how the page is intended to be? Rough drafts?

Only because I'd get more positive ratings than you. :) And it's not much of a rating system if you take out the negative aspect of it. I'd agree if this forum was oriented towards 5, 6, or 7 year olds, but it's for 13+, and they better be able to handle getting negative ratings, as they will definitely get negative feedback from their posts if it is necessary. Don't think the system should even be implemented without both ends.

If TIF wanted to be protective, for the first week, in red, there could be some sort of message to always double check the links, underneath the field.

I really think it should be users can only receive, and not give, 5+/-'s each day, would be able to prevent a lot more, and be easier for the users to get their rating restarted, or disabled. Was thinking this feature could be disabled in the profile, and be optional. And then for those who do have it enabled can have their total ratings in percent of how many +'s and '-'s they have overall from their various posts. No high score system intended.

Tip.It should be more concerned about it linking to a recruitment topic on the forums. It's an incentive to post a recruitment topic on here, and currently or so I thought clans were trying to make a come back here? It only makes sense for that, even if they aren't accepting new members, it would still be a post on the site, and the link would always be 'forum.tip.it/'. True not everyone has RuneHead, but a good, or decent clan has 1 or 2 recruitment topics laying around, and they aren't all that hard to conjure up. The majority of clans have a recruitment topic first, and then consider RuneHead, or that's how it's put through on PC. Free linking in the profile field would be good, but Tip.It would lose such a great opportunity for clans to start posting recruitment topics, and then start stirring the clan area some more. Errdoth has battled that point for too long, but it is true. If Tip.It does decide on allowing it be free linking, people will only click on it if they do not know the clan and seem interested enough to find out more about it, or just for references, or hot-linking for others. After that, it will only be for symbolic purposes, 'He's in clan AExample'. Which if someone decided to put in a malicious link it wouldn't be that bad as in a signature, as long as they didn't change the clan name several times over.

I agree, I would enjoy this, not having to read an extremely vague title, click on it, and find out it's a completely ridiculous thing, or something that's going to get locked. Bo a good time saver. I'd say 180-240 words for the preview, and in the balloon it could count the total words in the topic, view topic starters profile...etc? Just to add some more usefulness to it.

??? you mean protests instead of riots? Rally's, protests, riots...basically the same thing, group of people gather together against something. What you call it is only determined by what either the media, or how violent they get.

The colour of the grey of the posts, and the blue need to have some texture, or lighting on them, as plain colours isn't very appealing. :cry:

If you can, it will be fixed. Most likely you need to know how to do it, before you can do it even with assist.
