August 26th 2008 - All Fired Up
He does talk to you, and also accepts 5 logs to keep the beacon burning for a longer time. You probably need around 84 summoning(arctic bear pouch+10 levels) to talk to him though, because most people I've talked to say he only growls.

Sara Sword dropping like a stone.
The fast dropping is all produced by the same GE update- Amounts needed are so much lower now, and when an item drops a little bit more people panic and it just comes down as a big snowball. They will probably fix it soon enough though(the update means that merchanters can make ridiculous amounts of money and normal people will lose alot of it just being in possession of the item). I sense a big economical crisis with high priced armor and weapons.

God book pages, animal masks???? Whats happened!
Brian, you want to know everything about junk trades, but it appears you don't know squat. Scrolls as junk was completely destroyed after shard exchange update- making the scrolls wastes so much time that you could make more going to gwd. If jagex tells me that the ball is red then i'm not going to argue- they are right to say so. But when noone respects their opinion, then it doesn't exist. Russia is supposed to be a democratic country, but are there anyone who believes that? Jagex agrees that a blue partyhat is worth 380M, but noone else seems to think so. Also, new junk trades are much more intelligent than you would expect, just check out lower armored boot prices and guess why bronze cost 10 times more than iron.

God book pages, animal masks???? Whats happened!
" Everything is worth whatever its purchaser will pay for it" -Henry Ford. The reason these things are so much higher than the GE price is as follows: 1. The animal masks are relatively new. Not to many of them have entered the marketplace. The God Pages are consumable so you have them LEAVING the marketplace. 2. With the addition of construction based items, as well as the page drops being nerfed, your chances for getting either item are drastically reduced. 3. The GE is not reactive; the prices on it are set far to low for new release items. Plus it is not reactive. Changing once a day on 5% margins will get you nowhere slowly. 4. People are smart/crafty. Why would you sell for the GE price when there are people willing to pay several times that amount for said item? To help someone you will never meet? To balance the market? So combine all of these factors and Voila! we have your answer. I agree, an item is worth whatever a person chooses to pay for it. But times like these, they don't get to choose. They're forced to pay a price set by Merchants, who will argue it's about supply and demand - Half the time, they don't even know the supply is. There could be allot more of these items out, in banks, or being worn. Then there is price manipulation which was pretty popular back way before GE, I don't know if you were around then though to see it. Obviously the GE limits allot of that. 1. New items have always sold for absolutely stupid prices. 30 Minutes after Dragon Skirts were released, I found one and sold it for 20m. Is it worth 20m? Absolutely not, but some lvl 126 happily bought it. People tend to freak out on new items, and that's why you have tons of stupid items (like these Masks) at high prices. Merchants just love charging high prices for new items, and silly people will buy them too for the 2 minutes that they're exclusive for - NOT because they're worth it. 2. Just because more items were added, it shouldn't make the price skyrocket from their original stable prices. You could do a clue and get a page, or a Construction item in it's place. Basically, the prices are raised because lazy people are too lazy to go and do Clues themselves. Whilst I'm on that subject, a good majority of the player base is lazy and won't get things themselves. No wonder Jagex had to crack down so severely on RWT. 3. The GE shouldn't have the prices set no, but how else is it going to function? Would you rather every item be very expensive due to Merchants overpricing, or more fair like Jagex intend? Face it, most of the old ways of Merchanting are dead since the GE came out. If Merchants set the prices, they would be expensive for a very long time, even on lower end items, and useless items like Animal Masks. Not only did this combat RWT, but I believe also the statement of "The Rich Get Richer...", you've heard it before.[/hide] 4. Oh believe me, I know. Like I've said before, a select group of Merchants would use the official forums to manipulate prices on items and to a degree they got away with it. It was completely out of order and only served to feed their greed. If you walk into a store and see a gift for sale with a price tag of $10, and someone says I'll buy that for $20, 9 times out of 10 any decent storeowner would turn it down. It's not the way it works, the price is what it says it is - like the GE. Don't moan if you can't try and manipulate prices. So if jagex says the price of a mask is 1m, then they are always right and people should sell it at that price because jagex is the creator of runescape. So if your mother one day freaks out and calls you a bastard then you certainly would be one, because your mother gave birth to you. Things do NOT work this way. Jagex can not say what the prices are, it's for the people to determine item values. It isn't a select group of merchants running the mask market, it's simply people that have got these masks from one way or another trying not to lose money due to jagex'es stupidity. Merchants can sell masks for up to 50m each because people agree to pay that much for a mask. And do not think they are making loads of money that way- good junk is very hard to come by and would only give you an extra 5m if you make it yourself- Junk costs money, and that is why the prices seem that high.

August 26th 2008 - All Fired Up
Wait, the fact that FREE players get much less content updates than the people that PAY to play bugs you? Does it sound like there is something wrong with that, because i certainly think my money shouldn't be used to make people that don't want to pay happy, but to make me happy. As Runescape is the biggest f2p mmorpg they shouldn't update the free game, but rather improve the members content to get some of those players to subscribe. Jagex is a company, and company's want MONEY, not free players. The minigame itself is pretty simple, took me around an hour to complete with fixing all things/giving free items and loading the logs first. Had to even complete 3 stupid quests, but it was definitely worth it for the adze :D

What would RS be without merchants?
If you could only trade 3rd age for cash, that doesn't mean you would HAVE to trade your 3rd age items for cash. I believe 90% of 3rd age and mask owners would simply wait for the prices to update to a reasonable price range rather than give your items away for free. Also party hat owners would become really desperate. Also to take away merchanting, you would have to remove the 5% +/- rule aswell, because that is how most merchants make their money nowadays.

God book pages, animal masks???? Whats happened!
It used to be like that, apart from the ''great chance'' part. Now prices update every day and only around 10 first to put the offer in get one, so missing the price update by more than 20 seconds results in you certainly not getting the mask. Why are the mask prices so high? Because the demand exceeds the supply by so much. Also if you consider the junk trade prices, you have to consider the fact that junk costs money too. Why are page prices so high? Because economy uses them up faster than they produce them. Since the new tt updates, pages are much rarer to come by and this has resulted in the price-rise.
-
Third Age Market Opening?
So what do you find as an alternative? The people that don't do junk trades just wait for the price to update- which results in the same things, prices don't update, demand rises, junk trade prices rise. You don't see why people have to do it? Are you brain-damaged? People act according to how they always have- first them, their family, and only after that help a stranger on the street. Same with junk trades- you worry about getting a fair price for your hard-fought items, and only after that think that because of you, some whiny little kid can't use his coins to buy items. Junk trades are not good for the economy, but nor are jagex'es price manipulations. You can't stop one without the other.

Third Age Market Opening?
Jagex did a GE update on the 13th of august, now quantity's that were needed to up the price of high demand rares are much lower and it has caused the animal masks and 3a to go up faster and godswords/gw armor to plummet.

Whats with the AGS?
I don't see how that could ever become a problem for the AGS, thanks to the joy that is coinshare, if the AGS becomes hard to come by, just buy the bloody hilt, you're guaranteed to get one. So let me get this right- 10k ags owners sell their ags during this decline, and then hope to get it back for market price from the 50 hilts that come from cs drops? Ags and sgs will both come unbuyable after the decline is over and you'd have to add an animal mask to get one. This is how the post-limit economy works- massive fluctuations, people making lots of money from them and owning items becomes very expensive. [/hide] Why would these owners suddenly get the urge to get an ags back?? They didn't sell for nothing you know? Because they do not want to lose money, ofcource? when an item's price is going down, that's what they tend to do, so after the decline they could buy the item back for a lower price. If you think about your question once more, i think you should understand how stupid it was.

Whats with the AGS?
Jagex thought they fixed the mask/3a market with prices going up every day, but in the attempt to fix this, they made the ge even worse than before- now ags can only be sold with masks added in, soon, ags can only be bought with masks added in. Simple how fixing one problem brings up tens of others. Jagex is stupid- always has been, always will be, doing this instead of changing prices, lol.

12 Aug 2008 - Runecrafting Guild and Game - For All Players!
any information how many tokens you can get in an hour? that is already 4k tokens there, which would be enough for an hour of fast blood runecrafting.

P2P skills you were most excited about pre-members
You could always get 99 agility with 145m of fishing experiance at the barbarian spot. Once i got members first time, the skill i was most exited by was herblaw- it used to be a really prestigious and hard skill back then and you could make good money with it. Unfortunately it would be my lowest skill until rs2 was released.

Good idea to invest? Dragon Platebody, skirt and leg related!
or you could invest in items that are going up? if you really need to learn anything about investments, the graph of black mask 30 day changes is like a textbook of the devil jagex created.

99 Woodcutting: The Manly Way
I'm guessing saying that cutting yews is a "manly" way of doing it is another way of saying that you wasted your time? If you really wanted to stand out and do it efficiently, you should have cut teak, or even mahogany. Or if you wanted to be really stup... sorry, manly, cut magics! 99 woodcut is a nice achievement, and certainly not an easy one, but somehow very common.

1k total, Finally.
Finally? that sounds like agony, which getting 1k total surely doesn't bring. As it has been said, work on your stats. In what way? None of them are quite good enough yet. 2/10.

Familiars and Ranging
What monsters do you range in multy combat? only slayer monsters I can that i can think of are bloodvelds in the blood altar dungeon and fire giants in ct. Also if you do want to use COMBAT familiars, be in combat. You can also range something like avensies and use a familiar.

Lowest combat to defeat Elvarg?
You always could simply buy the map for 10k from the goblin. ;) Why do people, who are indeed completely clueless, post with supreme confidence in their knowledge? It was possible to get the map without 31 mage in the early stages of rsc, and since magic levels used to give combat levels, this made for very rare rune plate pures. This ability was then disabled, and you had to have 31 magic to get the map, so every pure wore rune chain from then on. After the release of rs2, people could transfer items back and forth between rsc and rs2, so people bought the 10k map in rs2 and transfered it into rsc where they could now finish the quest. The subject is pointless, like all low-combat questing infact. People have got to the dragon with the lowest levels you can, but you do get alot of levels killing the dragon, and also after the quest. Highest combat level would actually be more interesting.

Obsidian (Zerker) Necklace: What Happened to it?
In the good old days, awesome actually meant "very good", don't know what awesomeness you are talking about. If you truly know your way around waterfiends, there are only three ways to go- zamorakian spear with range pray, saradomin sword with piety and dharoks with both range pray and piety. Waterfiends are the monsters that really show the weaknesses of obsidian weapons(with berserker necklace)- low prayer bonus, rune weapon-like attack bonuses and the lack of defense.

99 Summoning, Slayer and 138 Combat.
Finally reached 99 summoning. Took a few more days than i had predicted, but that's what you get trying to work and play runescape.

Alching special
Alching member items in free to play was fixed a few weeks after crystal bows and shields came out, since you could alch them in f2p and make huge profits. Now it is impossible to do so.

~~99 SUMMON+FM+WC SAME TIME~~
Very nice levels, and good luck on further slayer training. Always satisfying to see some oldschool skillers getting the job done.

Ollyc3, Druminator17, Runiteknite, Draco Draco got owned
Yeah, i raced you and those other people too and now i'm just posting to gloat. You lost. Very nice, glad you were able to squeeze those two great achievements together, and what a tragedy that the monkey had to be left all alone on that other thread. [hide=]btw, i can't flame knite, he's on my friends list...[/hide]
