  1. I would post my playlist titled 'Summertime' but I don't think anyone really wants to read through 185 songs, nor do I want to type that out. Technically I didn't even 'make' it. A few years ago I had an MP3 player that had software which automatically (And randomly) filled it. So I ended up with that playlist, and loved it for the Summer. I've yet to decide whether it's just the nostalgia or whether the playlist actually is good. Either way I love it, since that's what introduced me to Streetlight Manifesto, Bad Religion, Atmosphere, Sublime, Children of Bodom, Danzig, Iron Maiden, Michael Jackson (Well, more what made me realize he had made good music), Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, etc. Basically it introduced me to Punk(With a few others mixed in).

Dammit, I just remembered you can run >.
  3. I've only listened to a dozen or so songs by them, but I do think they're quite good. I've never had much interest in them, but now that you've mentioned it, the fact that they remain politically neutral is quite respectable. Also, I hate it when people wear a shirt for a band they've never heard of or don't like.

  5. From my understanding, its not allowed. http://www.apple.com/trailers is always a good place to check for the newest trailers, and they use quicktime not flash. Learn what no flash player means Uninformative OP is uninformative. I get the feeling you'll just come up with some witty remark to that, but you get what you give. Google is quite good at finding stuff for you - probably better than an entire forum - if you weren't able to find it there, tell us.[/hide] Wikipedia usually has a lot of good external links, like links to a trailer hosted by Apple. The trailer looks pretty good to me, makes me want to read the book again. I would see the movie if I could find someone to go with. I've already linked, but I guess I should have been more clear as to what I was linking to.
  6. After reading Assassin's list, I realized that anyone trying to do this will have their work cut out for them.

I have something like a .65 kill/death ratio right now. I've played maybe 5 games, and I must say I quite like this. I've never been able to play an online FPS on my computer because my graphics card does not cooperate. Also, I just never saw much of a reason to when I have a perfectly good 360. Username is Aquariusman, although not too sure how much I'm going to be playing, depends on how addicting it turns out to be. My one problem is with practice mode; every player automatically starts with all weapons. I love how fast the gameplay is too, I immediately had to increase the mouse sensitivity in-game. Also, how do you get past the second jumping obstacle in training mode, I tried a running rocket jump, didn't work. Trying going into a corner and rocket-blasting my way up the wall, didn't work D:
  8. Eh, it's not like I was endangering anyone in doing that (I was staying on the road, in my lane, paying attention to cars around me) - and the whole point of speed limits is to make sure the roads stay safe. Honestly, I feel comfortable driving 100+ on the interstate here in South Dakota because it's fairly light traffic, 2 lanes, and 1 way...so if there is an accident, it's not going to be caused by someone speeding, it's going to be caused by someone being a bad driver. Oh yes, and not knowing what speed you're going at is definitely a good habit to get into. I can see where you're coming from, but still, if you're driving you should be completely aware of how fast you're going, where your car is, where other cars are, any obstacles, etc. Also, going faster makes it harder to stop. If the accelerator is wedged down that will make it even harder.
  9. On some people an eyebrow piercing can work on, but other than that I don't really think piercings should go anywhere other than the ear. Also, no gauges. I don't really see much of the point of even getting your ears pierced anyways.
  10. Quoting Canada's representative speaking in the Reuter's article. I think this is the best way to sum up my opposition to the ruling. Also, I believe Germany, representing the European Union, stated that the same effect could have been attained by introducing new individual rights instead of giving the rights to religions. EDIT: Here it is:
  11. The Birth and Death of Day by Explosions in the Sky. In my head I was listening to I'm Going to Hell for This One by NOFX for about a minute :?
  12. Multitasking generally simplifies down to procrastination for me.
  13. Not what I was thinking, but still equally horrible.
  14. I would say something, but I fear it becoming another horrible meme. A pretty funny story, and I must admit it was a bit ingenious of you to substitute sandwiches for foot warmers. At the same time pretty stupid though, I'd say that you deserve the ticket for wedging your shoe on the accelerator and not paying attention to your speed.

I forget to mention that you were right. I'm pretty sure it's the only Progressive Punk song I've heard. Unfortunately I don't think there is an unabridged version of the song on Youtube. [hide=The Decline, By NOFX][yt]DCz8PNvABO0[/yt] [yt]sM6KF_Pz0mc[/yt][/hide]
  18. This. If the game is a tactical, where everyone is always on the same playing field, then health bars are good. However, with games like Halo and Gears of War, where gameplay is slightly less tactical, and more geared towards your weapons, then regen comes in. Also, I think it should be mentioned that it is possible to have health 'bars' in a Halo custom game - you can just turn off shield regeneration (Or turn off shields, increase damage resistance, turn on immunity to headshots).
  19. Indeed Gametime (All daytime) Sheeet Sweet Phase Also, I'm just generally loud when I talk, sometimes it's almost impossible for me to whisper.

  21. To be more specific, the cookie cutter shark bit into the radar cone of a submarine, since I believe that was made of a softer metal (Or not metal at all).
  22. The trailer was disappointing, but I think it does still leak a few of the storyline details, or at least what the tone of the game will (Hopefully for me) be, which is more covert and tactical gameplay.

Okay, so I may have said some things in anger, which made me realize that is just not the way to go. But to back up what I had said: I apologize if I come off as a bit hostile, but I do get a bit angry when people claim that punk is something it is not. Punk rock isn't just being rebellious idiots, any teenager does that. It's being rebellious idiots while still being able to discuss politics without being an idiot. It's about knowing how to criticize that which you see as wrong in society, while still hiding it under humour and satire. Or it's just being plain out critical of your government. Either way, some kind of fun is involved in the process. Go to a show, get hammered, smoke pot, do drugs, or just enjoy the time. It isn't kicking down amps and trashing hotel rooms, smashing your instruments on stage. Possibly the best example I can use of a true punk rock band is NOFX. They openly criticize religion, government, along with general hate (See "You're Wrong"). Then they go and put out tracks like 'Timmy the Turtle' and "Whoops, I OD'd Again", or maybe even "We're going to Hell for this one". They began off, as their self-description puts it, as sucking. They didn't care though, they just stuck through it and did what they found fun. It is this early part of the band that I consider to be true punk. However, I consider it very hard to find true punk nowadays. There isn't really much of it in mainstream media. Some of the most noticeable examples I can think of are Rise Against, and just slightly Blink 182. Just a side note though, Blink 182 is not purely punk. Toward the end of their time they grew further ad further away from punk, eventually evolving into +44 and Angels & Airwaves. Like has happened with Blink 182, and every form of music, punk evolves. This is why it is so hard to firmly put labels on music genres, and maybe one of the reasons why I got angry about what you considered punk. I know many people who have never even heard of bands like the Adolescents, the Dead Kennedys, the Dropkick Murphys and Black Flag. They've only ever heard of Fallout Boy, Blink-182, Sum 41, +41, and many other of the 'mainstream' bands that make up what I consider to be half of the punk genre. The other half of the punk genre, is quite often based underground, or just beyond the media's attention. This includes band like Strike Anywhere, Authority Zero, Anti-Flag, NOFX, Pennywise, Rancid, and Bad Religion. Then there's also the gray area between punk and third-wave ska, with bands like the Reel Big Fish, Streetlight Manifesto (Although nearly any genre can stake a claim on them), Less Than Jake, Sublime, and The Flatliners. These bands will often spend most of their time touring, maybe put out a music video, but comparing them to most of the bands you'll see on MTV, the biggest difference is their longevity. They last years, while most of the artists appearing on MTV or Much on Demand will have a shelf life of a year or two, putting out three or four good songs before fading away. Okay, so this post has gone from me trying to correct the OP on his belief of what "punk" is and just giving a more specific run down of the genre. I guess I'll settle for that, I'm just glad to find out that more than three people on this forum actually listen to the genre. [hide=Now for a recommendation list]My Favourites underlined. NOFX Streetlight Manifesto Catch 22 Rise Against The Flatliners Anti-Flag Penny Wise Adolescents Blink-182 Sum 41 Fallout Boy (*gasp*) The Dropkick Murphys Flogging Molly The Dead Kennedys Black Flag Reel Big Fish Goldfinger Less Than Jake Rancid Bad Religion Strike Anywhere Authority Zero The Gaslight Anthem Hostage Life illScarlett Jimmy Eat World The Misfits The Ramones (And it's Blitzkrieg Bop, not Hey [garden tool], Lets Go) The Clash Mustard Plug Operation Ivy Propagandhi The Rx Bandits Social Code Social Distortion The Suicide Machines[/hide] This list is in now way ordered, other than that I went by memory and then by my iTunes library. This should provide what I'd say is a pretty well-rounded palette of what I consider the punk genre to be. Also, don't just take my word for this, explore the genre yourself, form your own opinion.
  25. [hide=A Small Correction.]They thought that the sinking of Jacincto was to take out the human colony. Then the Gears found out about the Lambent and the civil war going on between the Lambent and the regular Locust. The Locust hive just happened to be located under Jacincto, and Jacincto (I believe) was a peninsula, so sinking Jacincto would flood the Locust hive. The regular Locust would make the final excavations just after their horde was out of the hive, so that the Lambent would be drowned when the hive flooded. The humans were not actually seen as too great of a threat, other than delaying the sinking of Jacincto and slowly the evacuations. This is strictly what I remember from the Campaign, so I may be wrong. My least favourite part of the campaign is that THEY KILLED CARMINE NUMBER TWO. Honestly, they didn't even need a second Carmine, except to easily implement a tutorial into the storyline. Also, the hardest part of the campaign for me was escaping through the cave on the Reaver. When the [Flying Brumak?] fired rockets, I thought the only way to survive was the shoot them down, as using the left thumb stick moved you about a foot in any direction. Apparently one foot is a lot of space, so I finally tried to evade the rockets after about the 30th attempt of shooting down the rockets (I would always make it just past the last or second last rocket sequence, but with next-to zero health left, so I'd be finished off immediately by the chaingun.[/hide]
