Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
I think it could be more of a limited destructible terrain. For instance, you have weakened walls in place that be be knocked down if hit enough times with explosives, etc. One more thing, I want the helicopter to be dumbed down a bit, so that it can't get you if your gun is just barely seen by it.

Your bucketlist?
http://www.esquire.com/features/75-things-0808 My list: Travel by myself for more than a month. Go to Paris. Go to the UK. Go to Australia. Attend the 2010 Olympic Games, or any Winter Olympics. Live in a forest for a month or longer with only basic supplies. See a real-life peregrine falcon. Running (Full-Speed) high five. Take one television. Break one television. Backpack it from Coast to Coast. Test gravity using fruit and a high-rise. Do something that scares the [cabbage] out of me. Do something that requires the organization of over 30 people, each of which is vital. Organize it. Never regret, never forget.

Weightlifting - Your RL STR Lvl :D
6'2' 190lbs Don't know about anything but my squat, which is at least 300, although I do consider my upper body quite weak. Like k1 said though, strength isn't everything when it comes to practical use, I'd say most of it is execution, especially with sports. Also, I don't actually workout, although I do plan on starting sometime very soon. That's what I've been saying for a few months now

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
If they did that, I definitely think that MW2 would be better than Halo 3 in every way. That really is the one thing I don't like about MW1, it's either you play alone, hook up multiple 360's, or only one person plays while everyone else waits.

My pedal currently has a medal plate attached to the top with bolts because it cracked. Now the joint's cracked, so I'm sparingly playing drums.

Different.
To me, I see different as something that happens, not something I strive for, or even push away. I couldn't care if I'm different, couldn't care if I'm the same. I am what I am, and that is all you get. That said, I guess I might judge myself as random. I think I've mentioned it a few times, but I'm a Jock/Nerd/Preppie/Loner/Punk. Want to know something else? I'm happy. Also, 6 month bump.

The trouble with Democracy...
I really think the title should be "The trouble with People...", mainly because every fault associated with governments can be traced back to humans. That said, I'd say that democracy is the lesser of evils, mainly because it always allows for a transition to another one.

0.999...=1 and why people believe it is false.
I believe that 0.999... = 1. My proof is that if you were to infinitely divide a number, you would get 0. However, if you look at in a different way, 1/(2^n), you would see that there must be a numerical value greater than 0, since everything (Excluding 0), divided by anything (Again, excluding 0), must have a value greater than 0. So, would you not agree that 0.999...9 + 0.000...1 = 1? Since 0.000...1 equals zero... 0.999... + 0 = 1 0.999... = 1 I doubt this isn't flawed though, but it makes sense to me.

Guitar Hero/Rock Band Discussion thread
My thoughts exactly. I'm also not sure if I've said this, but I much prefer RB2 to any of the Guitar Hero games. I just find the interface so much smoother, the HOPO's timing window is so much better (Not easy, but not ridiculously hard either), and then the songs I'm not saying that I don't enjoy the Guitar Hero games, but to be honest, I'm probably not going to be replacing my scratched GH3 disc anytime soon - well maybe before the EB games warranty expires. The only thing I prefer from GH over RB2 is the guitars, they're much more comfortable to use.

Can't connect to Xbox Live..
Hold up, you're saying you have a direct connection to your modem? Unless your modem is also a router, I'm not sure if it's possible to connect to a PC. My questions: What EXACTLY are you trying to do. Are you trying to use Windows Media Centre, or are you just trying to play the music off of your PC while playing games. Please don't just say one or the other, say exactly what you want to do and what you think your 360 can do as far as that goes. Does you internet cord go to a router, then a modem, or straight to the modem. If to a router, is your computer connected to that same router? If to a modem, does it also act as a router, and does your computer also connect to the modem?

What movie(s) did you last see?
The last movie I watched was City of Ember, based off of the book, The City of Ember. Personally I loved it, although I'm not sure if that was nostalgia or not. Either way, the movie unfortunately did poorly, didn't even break even.

What are you listening to right now!?
Silver, I'll agree with you on the fact that I find stuff like Brokencyde, 3Oh!3 and Breathe California horrible, commercial money grabs, but you could've at least not been so harsh about. Besides, I don't really care about why the music was written, I care what the music actually ends up being. It's like how with a book, you don't judge why the author wrote the book, or what the author did to write the book, you judge just the book. Or at least, that's what I think.

Saddest Song?
The album, Everything Goes Numb, bye Streetlight Manifesto, is pretty sad if you actually just read the lyrics. Listening to the album actually makes me happy, though. The first thing that popped into my head when I read the title of the thread: [hide=The Saddest Song - Streetlight Manifesto]well, It doesn't really matter if you lead or follow Everybody's laughing like there's no tomorrow and even if there was, Would you still go following your friends? I don't know where we went wrong, we're still singing those same sad songs "It's my life, not your life, I'll end it when I want" And now I'm off to save the world once again But I don't know how I'll pull it off this time I think I'm going to drown Now he's off to save the world once again But he don't know how he'll pull it off this time I just know I'm going to drown And it's the saddest song you'll ever hear The most pain you will ever feel But you grit your teeth because it don't get better than this (know this) And you'll try to explain as the blood leave all your veins And you can't think of anything that you would change Stop! "Look and you will see" is what I think she said to me I'm not too sure because it could have easily been a million things But I don't know what she said I still don't know what she said Years passed since I've seen her face, 14 years were just erased If my life was your life, would you ever take it back? And now we're off to save the world once again But I don't know how I'll pull it off this time I think I'm going to drown Now he's off to save the world once again But he don't know how he'll pull it off this time I just know I'm going to drown Yeah you will try to explain as the blood leaves all your veins And you can't think of anything that you would change And it's the saddest song you'll ever hear The most pain you will ever feel But you grit your teeth because it don't get better than this (know this) And you'll try to explain as the blood leave all your veins And you can't think of anything that you would change[/hide] [hide=A Better Place, A Better Time - Streetlight Manifesto]And so she wakes up in time to break down She left a note up on the dresser and she's right on time You don't know anything right or wrong I said I know and she said so I wanna panic but I've had it so I go You don't owe anything to anyone But don't take your life 'cause it's all that you've got You'd be better off just off and leaving if you don't think they will stop And when you wake up everything is gonna be fine I guarantee that you wake in a better place in a better time So you're tired of living feel like you might give in well don't it's not your time Looking through the paper today looking for a specific page Don't wanna find her full name followed by dates because when i left her alone she made a sound, like a moan "You're known by everyone for everything you've done" [bleep] buying flowers for graves I'd rather buy you a one way non-stop to anywhere find anyone do anything forget and start again, love She said she won't go (and that's that) It hurts too much to stand by you've got to stop and draw a line Everyone here has to choose a side tonight the moment of truth is haunting you Don't forget your family regardless what you choose to do You can't decide and they're all screaming "why won't you?" I'll start the engine but I can't take this ride for you I'll draw your bath and I'll load your gun I hope so bad that you're bathe and hunt Annie's tired of forgetting about today and always planning for tomorrow (tomorrow) Tomorrow and she says, "The saddest day I came across was when I learned that life goes on without me" (without me) Without me and she says, "If everyone has someone else, then I ain't got nobody's love to save me" (save me) Save me, and she says "I think I'll pass away tonight, 'cause it seems I'll never get it right, it's just me" (just reality) And when you wake up everything is gonna be fine Guarantee that you wake in a better place in a better time So you're tired of living feel like you might give in well don't It's not your time Annie says she wouldn't mind if they never find a cure for all her problems (her problems) Proplems and she says, as long as she has someone near to make it clear she does not need to solve them (solve them) Solve them and she says, "oh, this loneliness is killing me, it's filling me with anger and resentment (resentment) Resentment and she says, "I'm turning into someone that I never thought I'd have to be again" And when you wake up everything is gonna be fine Guarantee that you wake up in a better place in a better time So you're tired of living you feel like you might give in well don't It's not your time Annie's tired of forgetting about today and always planning for tomorrow Tommorow and she says, "The saddest day i came across was when I learned that life goes on without me" Without me and she says, "If everyone has someone else, then I ain't got nobody's love to save me" Save me and she says, "I think I'll pass away tonight, 'cause it seems I'll never get it right, it's just me" Annie says! when you wake up everything is going to be fine I guarantee that you wake in a better place in a better time So you're tired of living and feel like you might give in well don't It's not your time And even if it was so Oh I wouldn't let you go you could run run run run but I will follow close Someday you will say "that's it, that's all" but I'll be waiting there with open arms to break your fall I know that you think that you're on your own but just know that I'm here and I'll lead you home if you let me She said "forget me" but I can't[/hide] Generally, I don't listen to sad songs. I like 'Happy' music, whether it's music that's awesome to listen to while you're happy, music that makes me happy, or just music that gives you that 'happy' vibe.

Gears of War 2
An after thought I had is that in the third Gears, the third Carmine doesn't appear until later in the game, at which point he is some high-ranking officer, and fairly well decorated. He does all of this complicated saving the day stuff, maybe even a barrel roll. Then he gets sniped.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
I guess this has probably already been done before, but what's everyone's favourite map? I love Strike for some reason. I find it the best for sniping, not because it's easy, but because it is entirely possible, but it still tests your skills as one. Tons of obstacles for enemies to hide behind; you usually only end up with a 1 second window to take your shot. Also, you have to be able to use your pistol pretty well. Another of my favourites is Vacant.

Gears of War 2
I just thought you'd killed them all. It's not like they were reproducing, these things were science experiments, and when you released them, those were all that existed. Kill them all, problem solved. Besides, at worst now there's 5-6 left. Not really a problem compared to an entire locust Horde. I'm no so sure how many Locust are even left, I'm assuming very few. However, if there were sufficient numbers of both Lambent and regular locust, I think that the Queen will appeal to you about forging an alliance to eliminate the Lambent, and when they're gone, the Locust will turn on you, but will end up all dead. A third Carmine death will be involved for sure early on.

Loves power and influence over the Media
That mash-up combined with the 90's flashback thread just gave me an incredible nostalgia trip. Even if about half the music isn't form the 90's. I Would Walk 500 Miles is the third last clip. Then comes the clip from the Little Mermaid followed by the Family Guy clip. Also, just an after thought to actually contribute, I personally think that it isn't love influencing the media, it's the media using love's influence over us to their advantage. In a way, these threads are about the same thing, just each with a different perspective.

A child of the 90's, this is what shaped my world.(few pics)
DISNEY MOVIES. Seriously, those things are freaking awesome. My aunt and uncle have a ton of them, and after looking through them with my brother this Easter while at their house, I've decided I'm watch them again. Nostalgia trips are the best kind. After looking through them though, me and my brother got to talking about all the awesome cartoons back then. Stuff like Tin Tin, Rupert the Bear, and Babar; those were the greatest cartoons ever. Seriously though, I wish I could remember more, I look through family photo albums and can barely remember any of what I see. Also, is it just me, or do would people generally agree that the 90's were the best? 90's shout outs are all I ever see, although that could just be the fact that people born in the 80's to early 90's are the biggest users of the internet.

My Top 50 Albums
Personally, I was never expected that you even listened to any kind of punk, let alone liked it. Also, the fact that you are able and willing to justify every choice you made, just angers me since I can't look into any of these bands without downloading their music or spending money, since Youtube isn't working for me and Spotify isn't available in Canada. Good list, I enjoyed reading it, and I love the spread of genres and tastes.

What are you listening to right now!?
It's an 80G, and that was only like 30G of music if that much. I have an 80G too, and currently taking up 48G is nearly 10k songs, almost 5 hours of video, and 25 Podcasts that total 1 minute shy of 27 hours in length. I'm pretty sure that all of the content on my iPod would last me a full month straight. Currently listening to the first Bungie Podcast.

Loves power and influence over People
Second thread, and it's another good one. I personally think that love is the same for men and women, girls and boys. Although I obviously lack the experience on one side of things, I would still assume that it would be the same. Women, as I think, just put more thought into love. From talking with my friends, females simply talk more about sex, think more about it, and plan more for everything love-related. One talk with my two (girl) friends lead to me finding out about their ideal weddings. I don't just mean general ideas, both of them had it planned down to times, locations, and clothing for everyone. Even a follow up conversation leading to honeymoons. As I guy, I honestly can't say I've ever put that much thought into love. Sure, I've thought about ideal dates and girlfriends, but nothing completely specific. Love effects men and women the same. You take it away from either of their lives, I'd say both genders react to the same degrees, but maybe just in different ways. What I'd say this boils down to (And this is a bridge to your other thread) is that society has for centuries tried to specify how everyone should react to certain things, and when it comes to love, there are many double standards. Women should always be thinking about it, they should favour romantics entirely over sex, and should only bear with it for their partner's sake. Men, on the other hand, should have nothing to do with romantics, unless of course it is in the pursuit of sex. God forbid a man holds a women simply for the embrace and not for the progression towards the goal of sex. That is how I'd sum up this past century's view on love when it comes to men and women. Now, to change the topic to something similar, 'Love's power and influence' - the exclusion is important - I would say that you are a good example of love being a good motivator, if you look at it in an optimistic light. You went through all those months of mind-numbing studying, just to impress a girl. At the end of it, you don't get the girl, but you do achieve something great; you've easily passed the MCAT, along with making your later classes easier. From your description, you find that it was worth it, and love just made achieving your goal more readily achieved. Sure, some people might not take something like that as well as you did, but I like to think that many more would rather than not. I'd say that the rose is the perfect symbol for love. Hold it lightly and you probably won't get torn, but hold on too tight and in the wrong spot, and you will just get hurt. In the end, you still have a rose, it just depends on how much you value the rose. To quote my cousin, and my favourite quote concerning love: "Love isn't someone else making you happy. Only you can make yourself happy. Love is finding someone else that you can be happy with."

Loves power and influence over the Media
^Then why not read it before posting? Anyways, Good post, I will be reading the other thread right after this post. I personally feel that it is impossible for 'love' to stay out of the media, mainly because it is such a big part of our lives. Our entire goal in life, as far as our biology is concerned, is to reproduce. As humans we seem to have slapped the label of 'love' on the feelings we have towards each other that boil down to wanting to screw each other. Seeing as how our basic goal in life is to create more life, we would be pursuing that goal everyday, would we not? This would create the situation for love to pop up everyday. In my spare thoughts, when I let my mind linger, usually I end up thinking of someone I have a relationship with, and I would say I am considering 'love'. Movies and the media are often meant to reflect life. If life revolves around love, I would assume that also means that love would be involved in some way. Sure, there are some examples of media in which love is not involved (As far as I know, some video games do away with love, namely CoD4). Still though, media is also (Hopefully) meant to make us think and dream, and what better thing to dream about than something we gladly do - love. I agree with you that sometimes it can be a bit frustrating to see love flashing at you with big neon signs around every corner, but it's a part of life, and something we all just have to accept. Now, what I would like to change is the whole concept of the younger imitating the elder, and the elder imitating the younger, and how this is seen as the 'right' thing to do in the media, especially when it comes to love (I am not against teenage sex, however I am against it being force-fed to teenagers).
