  1. I agree with this, I often make more money from bones and hides by doing this, than I would by getting hatchets or rings. Solo hybriding can guarantee 100+ of each, every trip. I actually did take into account bones and hides in the 20K extra.
  2. I'm pretty sure Jagex has taken a company policy to never sell gold for real money in Runescape (not other games).
  3. Now that Overloads, Turmoil, and Yak are relatively common, monster hunting has been changed significantly. Soloing bosses is much easier, and trips can last magnitudes longer. My question is, what is your new preferred monster hunting boss to solo, and why? I've also found some data on droprates. Calculation Method: Estimated profit = Droprate * value Profit per hour = Kill rate * estimated profit Profit per hour will be slightly overestimated, as it neglects overhead time (banking, KC) Droprates were found from player droplogs, on various forums and the Adv log. *Droprate on DK hybrid was ballparked. Most other things are based on data. [hide=Calculated profit per kill] TD -- Claws - 1/300 [33M] -- Estimated costs: 10K/TD -- Estimated profit: 100K in claws + 10K extra = 110K/TD Arma -- Hilt - 1/600 [100M] -- Armor - 1/150 [~15M] -- Estimated costs: 25K/Kree -- Estimated profit: 166K in Hilt + 100K in Armor + 20K extra = 280K/Kree Bandos -- Hilt - 1/600 [24M] -- Armor - 1/150 [~15M] -- Estimated costs: 15K/Graar -- Estimated profit: 40K in Hilt + 100K in Armor + 20K extra = 170K/Graardor Sara -- Hilt - 1/600 [70M] -- SS - 1/150 [9M] -- Estimated costs: 15K/Zil -- Estimated profit: 116K in Hilt + 60K in SS + 20K extra = 200K/Sara Corp -- Spectral - 1/1500 [100M] -- Arcane - 1/1500 [100M] -- Divine - 1/2500 [~700M balancing street and GE] -- Ely - 1/3500 [~700M balancing street and GE] -- Estimated costs: 10K/Corp -- Estimated profit: 600K in sigil + 100K in extra = 700K/Corp DK: Solo Rex with Yak -- Hatchet - 1/75 [2.5M] -- Zerker - 1/100 [5M] -- Warrior - 1/100 [400K] -- Estimated costs: 10K/DK -- Estimated profit: 30K in hatchet + 50K in zerker + 20K in extra = 100K/Rex (Includes Bones + Hides) DK: Solo Hybrid with Yak* -- Hatchet - 1/75 [2.5M] -- Archer - 1/75 [1M] -- Tallies - 1/20 [~200K] -- Estimated costs: 15K/(Prime + Supreme) -- Estimated profit: 60K in hatchet + 13K in archer + 10K in tallies + 35K in extra = 120K / (Prime + Supreme) (Includes Bones + Hides) [/hide] [hide=Calculated profit per hour (inaccurate)] TD -- Killrate: 25/hr -- Estimated profit: 110k/TD -- Estimated costs: 10K/TD -- Profit/hr: ~2.5M/hr Arma (Solo) -- Killrate: 15/hr -- Estimated profit: 280K/Kree -- Estimated costs: 30K/Kree -- Profit/hr: ~3.5M/hr Bandos (Solo) -- Killrate: 20/hr -- Estimated profit: 170K/Graar -- Estimated costs: 20k/Graar -- Profit/hr: ~3M/hr Sara (Solo) -- Killrate: 15/hr -- Estimated profit: 200K/Sara -- Estimated costs: 15K/Zil -- Profit/hr: ~2.5M/hr Corp (5-man) -- Killrate: 30/hr -- Estimated profit: 700K/Corp split 5 ways -- Estimated costs: 10K/Corp -- Profit/hr: ~4M/hr DK: Solo Rex with Yak -- Killrate: 30/hr -- Estimated profit: 100K/Rex -- Estimated costs: 10K/DK -- Profit/hr: ~2.5M/hr DK: Solo Hybrid with Yak* -- Killrate: 50 Kings/hr = 25 (Prime + Supreme)/hr -- Estimated profit: 120K / (Prime + Supreme) -- Estimated costs: 15K/(Prime + Supreme) -- Profit/hr: ~2.5M/hr [/hide]
  4. I was thinking the same thing, Jagex is already in dangerous waters with the updates they've been presenting recently. I really hope this skill comes out with a bang for their sake. If this skill flops they are in deep [cabbage], not to mention the months they spent developing it wasted. When has any skill ever been a flop? Construction = really great advertising (get your own house!) Summoning = best support skill + good advertising (get your own pet!) Farming = greatly affected herblore, appeals to a niche of players Hunting = good resource support skill All the new skills have been designed pretty well. Summoning especially. I don't understand the need for updates. I would be happy playing RS the way it is now for a long while. Herb + Pray updates should keep you busy, and if you aren't busy with them, then there's your new goal.
  5. There's already been someone who's done this, who unfortunately didn't record number of monsters killed but only drops. Main finding was: GWD -- 1 hilt : 4 god items (4 ss, 4 zs, 4 of any arma, 4 of any bandos gear) Corp -- Ely rarest, divine second, both much rarer than spectral/arcane
  6. -- New skill coming up -- New dungeon coming up (supposedly) -- New high level (most likely 80+) gear Be patient. I'm fine with the way updates have been. I also like the focus on redesigning old aspects of the game rather than adding unneeded new aspects. This focus has brought us a lot of useful but underappreciated updates.
  7. I think you're forgetting to take into account the major flaws of GWD... claw drop rates are about 1 in 250, hilts are about 1 in 600 you can only get a handful of GWD boss kills solo per trip, and you have to get 40 kc before you can do that at GWD there's cutthroat competition and easy to be crashed. if you die solo, you can't get your stuff back at TDs it takes 5 minutes to get to them, there's hardly any competition, and there's no waiting between spawns. plus you don't use many supplies. Hilts are that rare? where are you getting this from? Worst I've heard of is approx 1/350 Bandos KC takes <5 minutes, and with proper gear you can get ~20 kills a trip Arma KC is fast if you use steel or iron titan. The main reason I don't like to do TD's is that they're boring in my opinion. My main objection to GWD is the high stat requirements for effective solo
  8. Please not be the reward Pets for F2P? idk it might be a marketing scheme.
  9. The comparison is between rex-prime and supreme-prime, not rex versus prime. Also, I kind of doubt your claim, because rex spawn time is pretty significant. If you're using soul split on rex (which you should be if youre using yak), you might as well kill prime too
  10. has anyone ever tried hybridding rex and prime? i think this would be more profitable than solo hybrid, plus it's much easier to do. solo arma > solo bandos > solo td oh, and: sara - 1 hilt : 4 sara swords bandos - 1 hilt : 4 (bandos armor) arma - 1 hilt : 4 (arma armor)
  11. i am personally doing: 88 Herb --> 92 Prayer --> Rex for cash --> 92 Herb --> 95 Prayer
  12. Note: this is an actual gaming pod built by MIT for wow players. it has fridge, the seat is a toilet, everything...
  13. 5K crims isn't a lot. plus crims are easier to get past 95 if you use iron titan in chaos tunnels with waterfiends.
  14. Again, use weapon poison ++.
  15. Herb cleaning can only be done effectively with stable prices. What I usually do is: -- Use a herb that I wouldn't mind keeping (i.e. avantoes or dwarf weeds for extremes) -- Buy 1K -- Clean 1K -- Sell 1K -- Repeat This way, you don't risk losing that much per cleaning cycle, and even if you can't sell back the herbs you're okay because you'll end up using them anyway. And when I mean 3K per click I meant, there's almost nothing else that you can directly click and earn money for. All those things you listed require more attention than just clicking the same spot.
  16. Too bad you have to manually gather the nightshade at like 120 an hour. Don't do this method. You're silly. Stop trying to troll me. 120 nightshade an hour = 22800 herb xp an hour 30 gp/xp * 22800 xp = 684000 gp an hour (in herblore xp) 120 Weapon Poison ++ * 2.5K profit per poison = 300000 gp an hour in profit Total worth gained in 1 hour: ~1M Number of clicks: ~300 Tell me, other than merching, what else can you do that earns you 3K per click? Not to mention you don't have to pay any attention while doing this. You can use a wireless mouse, do homework or watch tv, and click the mouse looking at the screen every 1 minute.
  17. Full armadyl: -- Armadyl is for any scenario in which you need accuracy -- Armadyl has amazing magic defense -- Armadyl has decent melee defense Full void is used when: -- You want to train range -- You want to max with dbow -- You're hybriding (TD's, pvp)
  18. With regard to DDS versus Claws: DDS is most likely better for slayer. Against most slayer monsters the defense is low enough such that the 4 extra DDS hits makes up for the accuracy and power of 2 claw hits. Claws is better for monster hunting. Most bosses have really high defense, and the accuracy of the claws shines in these situations.
  19. Inflation is not always occuring. Look at last year when PvP drops were introduced. Prices crashed. Right now, price levels are dropping slowly. That's called deflation. The rate of claw loss is not high, but it is MUCH higher than DFS. A LOT more people slay than hunt TDs. Although a visage is more rare, I'd venture to say that in net, more visages enter than claws. That is after subtracting claws and DFSes lost. The overall trend in RS is inflation in the long run. I misspoke when I said "always occuring" - I just meant that it's very rare to not see inflation over 6-12 month periods. Anyway, back to my main point: DFS is a better investment. No point in arguing this. Look at the 180 day charts. DFS: Claws: We can only speculate about the droprates and lossrates of the items. To do so is pretty pointless when we already have a pretty clear indicator of past performance.
  20. Inflation is no longer occurring, in case you're a couple months behind the times. And what's to say that more people won't be able to kill metal/black dragons? You are also ignoring the fact that people lose claws in PvP, but very few people lose DFSes, if ever. Inflation is always occuring in runescape. What you saw in the past few months was hyperinflation. U.S. Inflation is around 2% a year - but it's still inflation! The rate of claw loss isn't that high... most people aren't idiots that go around risking 33M The rate of claw production, though, is much higher than the rate of visage production.
  21. Weapon poison ++ when you're at level 81 or above.
  22. I'm surprised by the lack of monster hunters here. Monster hunting is, aside from merching, the best income source in the game.
  23. DFS also has use in safe PvP. DFS is more of a luxury item; claws have much more utility. However, in the long run, DFS is a better investment. Its price will rise with inflation. Claw prices will drop over the long run, since more and more people are finishing WGS and it's becoming easier to kill TD's.
  24. Kind of a stretch, but could this be the third event in the Strange Power series? Strange Power -> Wilderness castle release -> this thing
