  1. Hey... Looks like I was right in the last thread. They should make them tradeable. That would let them be put back into PVP and it would be a great boost to herbologist in terms of being able to make money.
  2. Can you argue without sounding like an idiot? What? I never realized there was an old and new RS. Furthermore they released one thing. Nowhere else in the game does your effectiveness in PVP combat rely on you having a certain level in a skill that does not effect your combat level. NOWAI I'm glad the entire basis of whether or not your account is 'sucky' is now your herblore skills. And I'm not sure why you should be able to one hit people just because your account is not 'sucky'. No you didn't. You failed to consider the time it takes to train the skill that high. I didn't realize Jagex released with this update a button that let you trade gold for experience. The second thing is these potions aren't tradeable. I wouldn't have a problem with the majority of the update if they were. If they were sold by a shop they would be available to everybody and you wouldn't lose to someone with a lower combat just because they have a higher level in herblore, which is a non-combat skill and should not give you a direct advantage over someone. I'm still here and waiting for you to tell me why it is fair to screw over the majority of Dbow users. BTW, I just looked you up. Nice combat skills. Enjoy losing to people who aren't maxed out but have a higher non-combat skill than you.
  3. I don't know how to explain it but this update is crap. Max hits are increased further, Dbow special got ruined for (estimate) 90% of users, it is now possible for people with WORSE combat levels to be BETTER than people with higher combat stats, and herblore gets an update but something that skillers can't even profit off. RS is not a game where combat and non-combat should mix. If RS was more conducive to training such non-combat skills perhaps it would be ok but this update makes these potions incredibly exclusive and gives a massive advantage to anybody who can use them WITHOUT reflecting this advantage in their combat level.
  4. I'm not surprised. They don't really help with power mining and how many people actually mine high level ores for cash and stuff.
  5. Jagex needs to suck it up, realize they are going to anger some people, and just change the way smithing and hp (and maybe defense) work. Then they should fill in all the empty levels that skills have with content AND THEN they should address raising the level cap. There is simply no need at this point.
  6. Here are the numbers you were guessing on: Warcraft III: reign of chaos - player's daily -playing arranged games 4,000-7,000 - custom games(player made maps) 1,400- 5,000 warcraft III: The Frozen Throne - player's daily - playing arranged games 70,000-120,000 - custom games(player made maps) 30,000 - 70,000 I think a post somewhere in this thread asked for server costs. I did some calculations in another thread which should give a general area of how much it costs Jagex per year to run the servers. viewtopic.php?f=30&t=790988&p=6612493#p6612493 You realize the people playing on B.net is very small. DotA itself has like 7m+ people downloading it from getdota.com alone. The sheer amount of people who download it from places like epicwar or in LAN centers is even more. WC3 is probably one of the most successful games out there simply because of DotA so saying more people play it than RC is a terrible comparison. More people probably play WC3 and DotA than most other games.
  7. Oh ya, take the date something is first announced by Blizz and add like 5 years to get the release date. In a world where there are so many crappy game producers Blizz does a good job of making sure their games are thoroughly tested and balanced well before they are released.
  8. You know blizzard really [bleep]ed up WC lore with WoW. The one thing from WoW I would like to see in RS is just the overall better items. In RS items are poorly balanced and every high level wears the exact same thing. It would be nice to see Jagex make an attempt to rebalance weapons (gonna go to regular weaps for a sec) so that they are all over all equal. Right now (looking at rune) people use the scimmy and the 2h. There are like 10 other weapons out there but they are poorly balanced. I don't do much PvP but I'm sure someone will confirm for me that most people are all in X armor and using Y weapon. So ya... I don't really fault RS for not having WoW quality graphics and stuff but things like item balance COULD be done better.
  9. Jagex=tools I mean they dodge harder than the people in presidential debates.
  10. Jagex should just make beta servers. Who gives a damn if content is "found out" or something like that. I think the majority of players would agree that they would rather learn about content a week before they can play it rather than getting to play and potentially losing items or just having a bad experience. I'm not going to pretend that the QA team does a bad job because obviously there is a lot of stuff they have to cover but they could do a better job by simply adding beta servers. I didn't read the thread btw.
  11. I started before yo-yo's and before 99 RC... The thing I remember most is everything being blamed on miniclips...
  12. Range ammy is atm 10m street price. ~2m in ge. Fury is 3m at most. That is why everyone is comparing it with a fury. Ya but their obviously not gonna stay that way. New items always cost a ton. Remember Dplate? Things like this are just novelty and people buy them up so quick raising the price because they are trying to merchant them. In like a week people will realize they aren't worth w.e and everyone is gonna try to dump and they are gonna go down to like 100k. And then eventually they will stabilize. I mean come on.
  13. Why does everyone compare it with fury? Fury is so much more. Maybe everyone here can afford furies at their luxury but alot of people can't. It is a pretty good item for a lot of players.
  14. They let it come so far because people keep paying. I bet you their growth is still going up at a pretty high rate. I'm not going to pretend I know what Jagex thinks but I would assume they are saying "We must be doing something right". Companies don't change until they are forced too. RWT? They were forced into making that change by credit card companies and such. Getting out of these bad updates? Something is going to have to force them to do it. If you were Jagex would you put 100% of your effort into an update when you can put in 70% and still make the same amount of money??
  15. You forgot the original original wild which was the entire world map. It was actually tldr but I will come back later and read it. Just wanted to remind you about originally being allowed to pk anywhere.
  16. I'm impressed by this update. Jagex actually made both sides happy. I agree it would have been better just to allow protect prayer but I'm glad they still have the other worlds as well. Edit: Didn't realize this was BH only. Would rather have it like PVP worlds.
  17. What you're talking about are new[bleep]s. http://encyclopediadramatica.com/The_Ca ... illing_/b/
  18. Theres another kind of addiction? No, its a game. It is no different than monopoly at its very core and there are hundreds of another MMOs. Then gtfo. Believe what you want but people actually can live in the real world. I think MMORPG's appeared 20 years ago. There is over 5000 years of history before that where people figured out how to function. I think denial is part of realizing you have an addiction. People play RS to have fun. Not so they can "experience coal mines" or "lead a clan". Some people feel they write [cabbage]ty songs. Marijuana gives them the knowledge to right good songs. I think a lot of people are gonna disagree with you. RS is an addiction to a lot of people. Making excuses doesn't change that.
  19. Jagex's terms say that they are simply guidelines and at any time they are allowed to not enforce them. Whose ignorant to rules, policy, and conditions now smart one. Jagex as a company should admit their mistake, publicly or privately, and give him back his gold. Nobody is going to blame Jagex in this case for doing the right thing. Do you know the man hours it would take? Of course not. control+f and move on. Furthermore the man hours would be better spent doing something like this than the [cabbage]ty testing they do prior to updates. And I would celebrate. One less idiot to deal with during my game play.
  20. While I find it ludicrous that Mod Matt got blamed for any of this I find everybody over at Jagex to be full of [cabbage]. They obviously have ways to tell when somebody lost money (since he could confirm that exile lost the 350m) so why is it so god dam hard to give it back. You could say "There will be tons of people wasting their time sending in false claims", I say to that then everybody who sends one in that isn't true gets banned. That is easy and people are thoroughly warned. Jagex [bleep]ed up again and once again the players payed the price. Good job Jagex. You're going to continue to be a second rate company until you learn to produce updates that don't suck huge [bleep] and consistently have multiple bugs and glitches. Uh... Clearly Jagex can tell exactly who lost money and at what time because they were able to do it on Exile's account.
  21. Camping isn't a strategy in any game. There is such a thing as turtling that may be confused with camping but it isn't possible to do anyway in MA. The fact that you can sit in your base with no penalty to you means something is wrong.
  22. I think this inflation isn't as bad as people say. People (if they get smart) will stop using the GE where they get gold for their items and start actually trading items for items. That way they won't lose money as the item they traded for will also go up in value unlike the gold which remains static in their bank. 26k is bad though. Considering that Jagex has seriously cut back on updates you would think they would have thought of a solution for this.
  23. Jagex should really stick to MMORPG's and if they try to make an RTS they should put it out as separate project from RS. Thats my opinion.
  24. Online children's game=/=multi-billion dollar company And I strongly disagree with them giving out bank spaces. Things like this start small. RS has its problems but at the core it is a great game because of its accessibility and cost. If Jagex starts releasing more thinks like this if I were you I would quit and start paying for another game. That being said I'm not buying one because I don't search the internet for porn and download every random move file I find.
  25. Hehe, well, i'm going for 99 fishing, bit more usefull you could say eh? Yes You should remember that slayer hasn't been out as long as those skills and it also requires membership.
