  1. None of the rares that are currently crashing had street before the crash. You said the reason some rares are crashing is because their street value is going away.
  2. This video has nothing to do with Runescape.
  3. That or just other rares that are easily buyable. Instead of 3b for a blue, about 1b and 20 santas, for example.
  4. Santas and masks had no street, making them absolutely useless for trading up. It always amuses me when people who clearly haven't the faintest clue what they're talking about "explain" things.
  5. Wow, I thought this was a troll but I checked forums and it's true o.o ...Why? I'm not sure what about free trade people think is going to hurt lower rares (except of course RANDOM MASS PANIC!!!!) Glad I stopped flipping Santas a few weeks ago.
  6. Ugh, we were not even sure about what was the current market price in pre-GE era. We were merely naming our own price and trying to find the best deal out there. Which meant that the market was much more flexible and able to deal with short term increases/decreases in supply and demand, which meant that overall prices stayed level with small periods of change rather than being in perpetual motion as the GE desperately tries to catch up to what the demand was yesterday.
  7. They have quest requirements, which for some bizarre reason excludes them from the lending system.
  8. Will never happen. Can I has cookies now? Win.
  9. Man, people who don't understand the economy are HILARIOUS.
  10. Interesting point. Whips were much cheaper before PvP was implemented in the current system of destroying the lost items- I suppose they're likely to drop again.
  11. Yeah, it is a TON of effort to spend a few minutes copying your friends list into the vote box. Clearly if people will do that, they'll do ANYTHING! :-|
  12. Already a problem, but that's a different topic entirely.
  13. Absolutely untrue. Anyone who thinks that RWT is hindered right now is humming loudly with their hands over their ears, because it's EVERYWHERE. Hell, just look at all the bots we see every time they do something like update the wildy wall. You think those are all individual players botting money? LOL.
  14. I really doubt we'll have PKing back on all worlds- more likely we'll keep the same PvP world system with the old drop system. Though obviously you're right that corp would become a hassle if you could PK people on their way there. I think there's even some multicombat to run through. The only assumption I want to make about the update in this thread is that one will be able to trade any amount of money/items for any other amount of money/items with any player, unrestricted. Anything else would be speculation that doesn't really help analyze where the market will go as a result.
  15. No they weren't, because they utterly failed to remove RWT from the game. In case you haven't noticed, both botting and RWT markets have been roaring lately. There was the "selling partyhat for trade price and $500" variety, and the "buy crashing item min sell to RWTer for mid" variety. Neither were in any way difficult to pull off. It was needed for the fraudulent ones that cost them money, not the ones that don't. If they've found a better way to stop the fraudulent ones, there's no reason not to go back to free trading times. Nothing has changed. If people were stealing credit cards to make bots to make money to RWT, there's no reason they wouldn't be doing the same thing now, because it's still very much possible to sell gold. Either Jagex has found a way not to be financially impacted by the practice anymore, or they're still taking the hit regardless.
  16. True, but that's not really related. There will clearly be a transitional period between stable prices with limit and stable prices without. Just because free trade is conducive to stable prices doesn't mean it won't radically change them at first. ESPECIALLY in markets that previously required junk trading and will suddenly be possible to conduct with cash.

  18. So let's take a group of five very close IRL friends who play RS together. All of them want a divine spirit shield for soloing bosses and general playing around. With restricted trade: They all have to save up a minimum of 600m to be able to use a divine (this if they can find one for trade price), because they can't share one. Each of them will likely just buy their own shield. With free trade: Why bother getting five divines? They could pool their money and spend under 150m each to buy a shared divine that gets passed around for solo trips, making the divine much more accessible. How will this affect the high end item market? You may say that this sort of thing won't really happen, but I co-owned a set of Guthan's armor (which was the divine spirit shield of the time) with a couple friends many years ago- it was actually pretty common. The question is not if this will happen, but what it will do to the economy when it does. Will expensive equipment fall? Rise?
  19. Don't worry man, I voted for you :D
  20. Don't worry bro, I voted for you  But yeah, in all seriousness, this is the dumbest vote that has ever been set up. I can't even believe it. I want free trade back (there is NO POINT in restricting trade if they just design the GE in such a way that people can use its limits to RWT all they want), but this is mind-blowingly stupid. I don't understand what they're thinking with this.
  21. Lol, have you ever done a quest? This is par for the course. "Oh, something clearly dangerous and/or stupid? Let's do that!" It has always had all four symbols since the day GWD was released and people started speculating about it.
  22. This would all make sense for an early battle of the God Wars, but the battle over the Godsword was very near the end. By that time, Zarosian resistance had been eradicated. There certainly wouldn't have been something Zarosian powerful enough to just show up to a big war and cause them all to make a fuss over it that late in the game- they would either be dead, imprisoned, or in hiding. As for the shadow thing- ancient magicks aren't exclusively Zarosian. All Mahjarrat are of the elements smoke, shadow, blood and ice, and their magic reflects this. Not to say it's definitely a Mahjarrat, but it's a very weak argument to tie shadow to Zaros when really it's just that one of his generals happens to be of a race that happens to use a form of magic that has shadow as an element. We've never seen Zaros tied to shadows at all.
  23. Could be, but the syntax would still be off. It says "Bandos's armour" but then "torva armour." Not possessive, not capitalized. It could be a typo, but it's not likely.
