Forgive me if i've made a mistake here, but I've picked up from all the tech talk I vaguely understand, you can bypass a various internet blockers (for example websense which is completely over the top) with a proxy server. So erm...how? If i've made a mistake here, please correct me so I know a bit more about the difficult bits of PCs. Thanks :)

I don't know how to answer these mighty philosophical questions well. So i'm going to say, whether we "exist" or not isn't important, compared to how we live out what we call our "existance" I hope that was philosophical enough :shock:

And, in my opinion, abortion does not constitute good moral boundaries. Let me guess, those with good moral standards are those that share the same standards as you do right, and those that dont are the ones that do not? You say some religions set moral standards and some do not. Which religions are you saying, "do not"? Forget religion in politics, they just don't mix. Abortions are one of those long debatable topics, I think there needs to be an Official TIF abortion thread. Bringing your religious beliefs into politics, is exactly why Palin is now fairly unliked compared to Biden Obama. Creationism should not be taught in schools. Let the parents ram it down the children's throats, not the teachers.

Russia is a strange culture, not quite western but not quite eastern. And because of the sheer size of the Russian Federation, it just gives people the impression as if they're up to something with all that land... Putin isn't exactly friendly to the larger countries, and Russia in general are extremely secretive compared to the UK for example. Also, communism seems like a bigger threat than facism because communism is still used in many countries. Finally, Russia sold Nuclear Arms to Iran.

I never used chat rooms :| I found I could make friends who can put together a cognitive sentence in real life, rather then in chat rooms. However, chat rooms are great to go to as a last resort of boredom, the next step being suicide. Because people are so unbelievably stupid, you can laugh, and of course do the ol' trick of pretending to either be a vunerable female teenager or a child molester.

Nope happened about an hour ago now today, I tried phoning him earlier, but he wouldn't pick up. So, I guess he's not really a friend :|

Tricky situation. But let me begin from the top. Back in June, me and one of my best friends decided, "Hey, lets set up a blog on the internet! That will be fun" So, I agreed, and we set it up together, equal powers, and equally enjoying it. But the past two weeks my friend had been acting a bit more distantly, and recoiled, all in all, less social. We hadn't spoken outside of school for about two weeks, and he refused to be contacted any other way. And today, for no reason, without any warning, he decides to delete the blog. (It was going fine, we were both making posts etc) He doesn't even have the balls to contact me beforehand, or even now to discuss anything. Now I can acknowledge the fact him being a bit more distanced, could be because of homelife problems possibly, or maybe not. Either way, I'm boiling with rage right now, and have to express it somehow. I feel completely betrayed, and had to vent it somewhere. Sorry if this post bored you.

That's what I put in the first post. And is it me or is Lenin overhyped? Otherwise not many people know much about Red Terror :| I know you put it in the OP but the post above mine (which I was referring to) didn't seem to make a distinction. In response to your point about Lenin, yes he is somewhat over-hyped, for some people he is close to being god like (ih the irony). Regardless of your political allegiances though, it was a remarkable to bring down such an old-time entrenched system like the Tsarist regime of the Romanov's. He did make a few failures, he was forced into the Brest-Litovsk Pact in order to end Russian involvement in WW1, he didn't deal with food shortages too well (he wasn't helped by having to fight the White Armies) and he was completely blindsided by Stalin's political maneuvering. The fact that he remains as the symbol of communism however, is more to do with the cult of personality that Stalin helped to create and exploit during his reign as he knew many of the people adored Lenin. Lenin wasn't forced into the Brest-Litovsk pact, he sent Trotsky to do the negotiating, because he realised Trotsky would get the blame for the bad terms which were obvious. He also realised if the allies won the war, they'd get thier land back.
