The Offical TIF American Elections thread
To SPMc, I would estimate about 5 days after voting closes, because America is a big place. Weird, Biden is against net neutrality. Why are people against net-neutrality anyway? As Obama put(Not a direct quote, a vague memory quote), It will silence peoples voices and opinions, and squeeze freedom from us. So true. I prefer Biden over Hillary. And that occasionally funny site Punditkitchen is no longer funny. People have started spamming it with motifakes. :( McCain wants to send men, women and children to fight in Iraqistan and Afghaniraq for the next millenia.

[Please Lock] I ate a piece of glass....
This bandwagon thing is like a 4chan meme. I refuse to participate and degrade Off topic any lower. And stop calling off-topic OT. 4chan haters, unite! I'd like to take this opportunity for the other 2? people that actually have it. I'll begin with the differences between being Pro-Stalin and Pro-Socialism. The others here with the Hammer and Sickle are, I'm fairly certain, not Stalinist, but simply Socialist (though I think Oegly might be a Communist in its pure form. Correct me if I'm wrong, Oegly.) Without going into too much detail and boring you to death, Stalinism is a radical form of Socialism involving totalitarian rule and government-owned everything. This is what I believe in, and my reason for having not just the symbol, but the actual Soviet Flag as my avatar. Socialism, on the other hand, is like that, but instead of totalitarian rule, it's...well, I'm not certain, but it might be fairly democratic. Most, if not all, business is government owned, but there's still peoples' rights and such. Purified Communism, on anither hand, is another form of Socialism, but to the stage where there is no government period, there's no bounds to freedoms, and everything is publically owned. Sorry for the tangent, but I like to answer these kinds of things and clear up confusion. Yeah, a large number of us here do believe in the ideas of communism/socialism, therefore putting them into signatures/avatars. Personally I'm a Marxist, but I'm not putting him into my signature or anything. He does have an awesome beard though... And Lenin... you just said you were a Stalinist, so does that mean you agree with his massive racism, and anti-rights, and secret police and complete rule putting peasants into gulags etc etc? I'm a Trotskyist. Awful lot of left-wingies on Off-topic :D

The Offical TIF American Elections thread
Obama pledged that he would secure Network Neutrality on the internet. If that doesn't make up your minds, you don't deserve to vote! Also if Obama does win, I think it would change the world. Having a black president would give a punch in the face to racism and intolerancy. I heard on the radio today, they were interviewing people who had just voted. There was this deep south guy who said "ah voted fo' McCain! Obama ain't...Christian enough!" Stereotypes, you say? Whatever happens it will be pretty entertaining to see who wins.

Could a Facist Democracy work?
That's what I put in the first post. And is it me or is Lenin overhyped? Otherwise not many people know much about Red Terror :|

What do you look for in a boy/girl?
Intelligence. And they have to be fairly sociable :\ Because I hate it when my regular friend dislike my girlfriend :|

[Please Lock] I ate a piece of glass....
how large was this piece of glass? If its the same size of smaller then your fingernail, and fairly thin, its ok. If it's thick, it will be like gum and take ages to dissolve. The weirdest thing I ever ate, was a marble pebble off the beach. I thought it was a mento :(

Could a Facist Democracy work?
Ahh, sorry my political understanding isn't in depth. I plan to read my older brother's A- Level Politics book once i'm done with my other big pile of books

Could a Facist Democracy work?
I was thinking, could a facist (or communist) free-speaking democracy work, and if so how? For example, in Nazi Germany, Hitler would kill people who disagreed with him, because he was the absolute ruler of Germany. Same with the Stalinist Communism (which in the end wasn't communism at all.) But, could there be a way where a country has a Facist leader, with complete power over everyone, but people still have freedom of speech and aren't persecuted for thier opposite opinions?

For the McCain voters out there; how do you feel about Sarah Palin? Because from a British non-voter view, she's [bleep]ing insane.

I got a brand new PC, suggest me some games!
Far Cry 2 is pretty good Battlefield 2142 is excellent Crysis and Crysis Warhead, a fair bit of replay value and fairly decent. (But if your only going to get one, get Warhead. Its cheaper and comes with a better multiplayer.) World in Conflict; probably the best PC RTS there is CoD4, and the new CoD which comes out soon Dead Space is a good 3rd Person Shooter Bioshock of course Hitman Blood Money if you wanna go back in time a bit :P Counterstrike Source- always fun GTA IV Comes out soon And People seem to love Fallout 3 Mass Effect (Only if you like RPGs) Spore is horribly overrated, but some people like it Supreme Commander is good, but the maps are so big, you end up having Cold Wars. (Thats a slight exagguration though.) But add all those together, and you're still nowhere near Psychonauts. Best game ever. And anyway, you said you have The Orange Box, so just head over to ModDB and there are tons of mods for HL2 there, which are games in themselves. Thats my whole PC Gaming arsenal, and it makes a nice pile next to my screen. (My friend has so many PC Games, he has two drawers under his desk  )

Fallout 3
Well, considering i'm not too keen on RPG's but this one seems different; i'll add it to my Xmas list, because I can wait 'til December :D Same with Dead Space :D And GTA IV comes out on PC mid November :o

What do you do?(Where do you work? What is your occupation?)
I Volunteer in a charity shop now. ....Because when I apply for Universities in about 5 years time, it will make me look good. \ I don't feel any compassion or warmth in my heart for knowing I helped some dying person by selling someones unwanted junk. I'm probably a bad person.

Pictures of your cell phones.
I also had that for a small period of time, but it wasn't bulky enough for my liking. I like my phone to be hard enough to throw at muggers and blind them, while still being able to make calls later.

What's the most important lesson you have ever learnt?
First of all, the first equation you posted is not even a quadratic, it shows how much you know. How can you relate math to marriage? It's just like asking if history will help you succeed in your love life  Working with quadratics opens up many doors, including the ability to solve critical thinking questions and opens up the pathway for other exponential equations such as cubic, quartic and quintic functions. These are a must if you want to enter an engineering related field. Guess who makes all your tools, gadgets and items? Engineers and developers. If it was completely useless, it wouldn't be in the curriculum in the first place. Pure ignorance. Incase you didn't realise, all those scenarios were made up to make a point of irony. Second, If it wasn't an equation, meh I was kidding. Kind of. And finally, Good point, but even still I hate all the difficult formulas which result into pumping some long things into a calculator :|

What would you name your first child?
In the title of this thread it says "First Child" So.. quite clearly I would name my first child "Child Number One." 2nd kid would be "Child Number Two." And incase I get confused, i'll tattoo bar codes onto thier wrists, shave them bald and make them all wear the same clothes. But in all honesty, It just makes me feel sad when i see two kids wearing the exact same clothes. Even if thier twins, its not cute, it as if they have no individuality; even if they are too young to go out and pick thier own clothes. And I also hate to see really young kids with thier ears pierced... Who agrees with me on those two points? :P

Norfolk can make some great wintery pictures too, y'know. Just you wait. Yeah! And we'll open up a can of Somerset West-Country accents on you! If it snows in london, you have lost! It did snow in London, yesterday. I made a snowman with a suicide note attached for when it melts \

What's the most important lesson you have ever learnt?
All those quadratic equations in maths at school; What could possibly help you in your life any more then quadratic equations? I'll give a few scenarios. OH NO! My car broke down in the Australian Outback! -No fear! Y=mx + c! So, will you marry me? -Only if you can (x+4)^2 (at a job interview) So, what do you look for in a person? I look for the common denominator of the simultaneous equation!

Pictures of your cell phones.
The most popular phone in the world. *Pukes at all the iPhones, blackberries, Motorolas, and Ericssons* I have the Nokia 9210i, how's that for oldschool? Take that, n00bs. My Dad had that when it first came out. But it was too confusing and he got something else without all the internets and keyboards

what do you do to make a difference?
I recycle when I can, and I use a buttload of paper, so i stick that in a bag and recycle. Luckily my area's council make it ultra-easy to recyle, just stick everything into the green box everyone has. :D I put the lights out also. But thats about it. I would support the smaller businesses, but its so much cheaper to go the the larger supermarkets during this economic recession :\

Banned Books
 I have that! At first before I bought it I thought it was light-hearted, and not entirely as a joke, But after I read it, it was really hardcore written by a harcore 60's Yippee :| Also, in America, isn't it against a constitution or amendment to ban books under freedom of speech? (I think it's the first amendment, but that beyond my knowledge of law, cause i'm not American...)

Portal: Prelude.
I downloaded it, played 10 minutes. Definitely harder then the original portal :D But an excellent feat for a mod

Fallout 3
Would you recommend this game to someone who hates RPG's and thier slow systematic grinding etc? And someone who wants to burn all final fantasties and other long-winded text-heavy games? ..I.E me?
