Uh.. what makes you think they learn any less about it then americans? I'm Austrian, not German, wich is about as close, considering that Hitler was an Austrian ( :-$ ) and i can hardly believe anywhere else in the world WWII and NAZI attrocities are as huge a topic. Basically both our countries are still traumatized by the events. National pride is basically non existant and i guess this has much to do with our history. Unlike the americans who can pride themselves in being a major force in getting rid of the NAZI regime, we have to live with being the ones that cheered to Hitler when he took over the country. Our grandparents killed millions of people in concentration camps. It's hard for countries to get over such a history. There are many, many german books, plays and movies about these subjects. I can't tell about others, but i learned extensively about it in school.

Still waiting for somebody wo tried this and can actually compare the effects to his or her real drug experiences. Meh.. guess i have to try this later on.

Westerns and Asians are probably more conditioned on high IQs, because of the cultural values. I wonder where this conditioning will lead to. Eventually some people will figure out that they can use their intellect for other purposes than society intended. It's like breeding a bunch of Hulks.

I listen rather seldom to music and if i do it's a rather exclusive activity. I don't really like having background music. Nevertheless i consider music to be very important to my live. What i really have to do, every once in a while is walking trough the streets, in the middle of the night, in places where nobody is around, with earplugs and singing from the top of my lungs. It makes me feel really, really good. I get this warm radiant feeling from my heart. I like playing the guitar and the bass to (lately rather the bass), but not as much as i love to sing. Maybe the day will come when i'll finally let it all out, when i manage to combine these passions and find the words to channel them. Oh well..

I highly doubt there is a gene for beauty or intelligence, for musical aptitude or whatever. The DNA is just the blueprint for the radio. The music comes from somewhere else. PS.: I enjoy the news article threads.

Pretty good actually. I live without TV to. There was a time when i didn't have warm water and although a hot shower is something nice, i feel it made me soft. There's nothing like washing yourself with cold water outdoors at 5ÃÆââ¬Å¡ÃâðC. Afterwards you feel.. well good. It's just that i wouldn't take a cold shower, when a hot shower is available =/ Ah well.. luxury.. it's diabolic.

I find this topic highly interesting, because i have some issues with gender and sex to. Both genders have certain advantages and disadvantages, so i guess ultimately it doesn't really matter wich you are. I guess though our society favours females. Aggressivity in all forms is looked down upon. Maybe i have a wrong impression, because my mother really hated all outbursts, but i really feel trapped inside. If i wouldn't have music, i guess i would have become some serial killer or would run amok. Often enough i feel like being male would make me a bad person. I mean testosterone is good for what? For nothing society approves of. Actually i feel good, being aggressive and maniac, but i'm also scared of acting like that. From that perspective is it that i wondered where Serephurus' probably with his parents is. If i where in that position i wouldn't care what my parents say or do, because i go with my head through walls. The only reason i care about others is because of various kinds of fear. (well and because of some aesthetic reasons <-- and that feels kinda alien) On the whole debatte on the naturality of transgenders: Who cares about what is natural? Applying lipstick certainly isn't natural, yet how many woman do it? Wearing clothes isn't natural. Surgery isn't natural. Getting tattoed isn't natural. Cutting your hair isn't natural. (Has anybody ever seen an animal doing any of these things?) Personally i would consider changing my gender, if i could do it magically. Surgery =/ but that's just me. 'nother thing: Considering that your parents get that emotional about the issue at hand, their opinion can't be worth much, considering that it doesn't affect them in any way. If you were to change their genders, then they should get emotional. They don't have to approve what you are considering to do, the way you describe what's goig on at your place though.. *shakes head*.. if they were my parents, i wouldn't allow them to act that silly. You really can't allow your parents to jump around with you in that way. You are definitely not a leo (roaar). blaah, blaah.. oi.. i'm tired..

Sweet stuff you got there, although the voice causes me brain damage o.0 Your drummer is a beast! How do you record? Sorry, i can't help it, i have to criticize everyones music: Most of all there is too little going all in the bass domain. Some recording/mixing issues, that make the drums sometimes too dominant compared to the lead instruments.

I actually do believe the nobel prize commitee to be very neutral and giving the prizes to make a point. I don't know too much about the whole thing though. Three years ago a completely unsuspecting Austrian writer got awarded the literature prize for example. The choice was very controversial. I don't know why though - i know nothing about her book. I saw an interview with her though and she seemed to be a very humble person. I can hardly imagine her having any connection with the commitee whatsoever.

Don't get me started... Part of the fun of being schizophrenic (wich i was for some time) is that being awake and dreaming is just a blur, without a clear beginning or ending. After waking up it often took me a couple of minutes getting out of dreaming. Also very weird things happen when you know you are awake. For example: I had this really terrible nightmare and when i woke up i was completely freaked out, so i pack my stuff and take a train to Berlin. There i wander aimlessly trough the city until i decide to head back to Vienna. Outside the trainstation (the huge central train station of Berlin) i beat my head against a steel girder several times, because i was angry and frustrated. When i enter the station immediately afterwards a woman says in a compassionate voice trough the public adress system: "Ow! This is hurting!" I didn't think too much about it, because occurances like this were pretty normal to me back then. or I'm talking to this girl and i notice some fine hair above her upper lip. I think: "Meh, it's okay i guess." Then we decided to go outside for a smoke and when i face her again, the skin above her upper lip is perfectly smooth. Generally things changing, while you are looking at it, or when you are looking away for a moment indicate that you are dreaming. During my schizophrenia this happend a lot while i was awake. or I was constantly trying to quit smoking back then. So i want to place my pack of cigarettes on the train tracks. I climb trough a fence and walk besides a bush to the track and a train rushes only half a meter past my face. On the way home i cross the street. I see a car coming slowly, but i had enough time to get on the other lane. Suddenly a car that apparently was overtaking the other one speeded past me and missed me for only about half a meter. Almost got run over twice in 15 minutes =P Not in the mood to post some of my actual dreams atm.

That's what a military is for. If the safety of a country rests in the hands of gun toting civilians, then we're all screwed. I think one idea behind the 2nd? ammandment is that the public has the means to defend itself against the state, if it has to. or am i wrong with that? anyway.. what i wanted to write is this: lol! americans and their guns. I've hardly ever seen a real gun, save for those police men are carryin around. Personally i want to have as little tools or devices in my house as possible. That's why i don't have a microwave for example. I don't really know what i'd need a gun for. I could use it to kill somebody, but besides that i can't really find a purpose it could fulfill. What i don't like about these two laws is that they exclude people from a civil right, based on their records. So some people are denied their "right to bear arms", whilst some redneck sucker with a pea sized brain and lots of anger in his chest still is legally allowed to own an uzi. oh well..

Np at all. I'm just doing my slayer assignments and figured it can't hurt to post what i find out. So far i killed about 300 Saradomin Spiritual Rangers in two assignments. Here's a pic of my current status btw (to add some credibility to my claims):

Exclusively killing Spiritual Rangers (Saradomin) - lvl 122 so i can't tell if this is true for the other Spiritual Rangers to anyway their bowstring (7) and oak longbow (u)(12) drops are now noted :D PS: Some lesser drops are missing in the list, such as broken arrow, bronze arrow (p+)(1), mithril arrow (p+)(1), Maple longbow, but one important drop is missing to: clue scroll (lvl 3)

How is this foolish or contradictory? Because if we were not supposed to build great civilizations, reproduce, and shape the world today, we would not have. It is arguable that the "nature" for humans is to build societies and not become hermits. If that was natural, we would be doing it! By preaching it to the public, they are being part of public life. Makes sense. By the way, where did you read that Taoism emphasises that they believe civilizations are unnatural and that we should restrain from public life? I wouldn't mind reading up on it more. Are you sure that they don't mean it's unnatural in that it's not typical of non-human nature (i.e. non-human nature as in trees, waterfalls, grassy fields, etc. I don't think they refer to human civilization as supernatural), which they see as the place in which your harmony must rest? Are you sure the message is not simply refrain from modern human civilization and focus on the natural world? If that's the case, I don't see what the problem is with it. I think it's a pretty decent message that a lot of people neglect to take heed of and when they do, they feel better for doing it. The dao te king pointed out that huge civilisations are undesireable. You should rather keep to your own. Or something like that. I don't think it promotes solitude though and i also don't think it said that civilizaion is unnatural. @Topic: Eastern spirituality is nice and dandy, but i find modern pop culture is more my thing. Star wars and Terry Pratchets Discworld and the like are great examples. Wisdom can be picked up literally everywhere: from a tree, from a couple passing by, muttering some words, from some advertisement, from a dead mouse lying on the street, architecture, art, from a trip, from everywhere. You probably only need to accumulate wisdom for a good life, but knowledge is power. I guess wisdom will get you what you need, but power will get you what you want. Science is a way to turn certain knowledge into power. Like for transforming the power of a river into electricity, or to develop seeds with an awsome yield. The magic of science... Yet their is knowledge that you can apply to be successful, to get as many women as you want and such things. And then their are such ideas as the philosophers stone and the holy grail. Anything is possible, if you know how. Anything. There is no limit whatsoever. Only those in your head. ..and if you wonder why you got those limitations in your head in the first place, imagine infinity. The limitations are there, so you stay sane. Picture what you'd do and who or what you'd be right now, if anything imaginable was possible. The possibilitys are mind boggling imo.

I often have the feeling, my parents subtley convince me that their way is the way to go and when i turn around and get to reflect upon all that it just appears to be all wrong. I find it quite helpful to write things down and post them on a forum. For some reason it's important to me that it's public. Otherwise i could just write a diary. Also i some comments you gave made me realise how self absorbed i am myself. So discussing this topic isn't just about Serep. It's about all people involved. I guess you are right that you shouldn't drag your problems everywhere you go, but this thread is about Seps problems. So Serep can leave them on this thread now, instead of voicing them on random threads. For my part this is the first time though that i heard about Sereps gender issue (do you notice how i avoid pronouns?).
