  1. You are basically forced to conform to a certain degree. If you would choose for example to go out naked, you'd probably be locked up soon. That's just an example. Society doesn't look too benevolent on errant behaviour. Not that an individual is defined by how little they conform. An individual chooses when to conform and why. Individualization is a slippery and dangerous road - dealing with people projecting on you, you projecting on people, asking yourself why you think and feel the way you do challenging just about everything, struggeling through all the ideas that were put in your head. It can get lonely sometimes, detaching the bonds that tied you to other people. It can be frustrating sometimes, cutting your strings, whilst not being strong enough yet to stand on your own feet. It can be terrifying at times, leaving the shelter and being exposed to all your fears without anything to protect you. It can be maddening, when everything you knew to be true vaporizes and leaves you with a void yet to be filled. It might be rewarding at some point though and it's funny having people looking at you, as if you knew more then they do, when in fact you know nothing. True. It's more about you realizing that they are there and slowly removing them from your thinking, until you realize that what was your mother, is just some random woman you can't really relate to (or maybe YOU can, i can't) and the place you call home is just a random place you got used to. When you marry your man won't suddenly turn into "husband". He'll stay whoever he was. When you get a child you won't suddenly become "mother" (like your mother was). Something like that =P (seems i'm a bit in a poetic mood or something)
  2. Yah people die. They do that all the time. All of them at least once. Actually this shouldn't even be a big deal. Indian tribes left their old ones behind once they became too weak and would be a burden. I wouldn't be willing to carry such a burden, nor could i live with being a burden like that.

    SAW IV!

I've seen saw 1 and it was horrible. Not in the sense that it was bad. I just don't want to watch something like that again. The gore doesn't bother me. It's the psychological horror. I really don't understand it. On one hand i don't want to see such twisted movies. On the other hand there's something appealing about sick, demented horror.

    Ghosts

That's really an interesting trait. I mean there really isn't too much similarity between this: and a human face. People tend to see themselves, wherever they look. cool sig btw, Savior.
  5. You are on the right track there, highlanders. People need labels on everything so it makes sense to them. Things that won't fit into anything are scary, because they are unpredictable. People develop patterns on how to interact with whatever they encounter. If they can easily put a label onto you, they can act automatically when they encounter you. They won't respond to you, but to the attributes they project on the label. On the other hand people tend to adopt a behaviour fitting to their labels. It's like a role playing game. There aren't just labels that you can choose, like idk emo or punk. There are also labels you are born with, like woman, black, jewish or idk what. There are plenty of people who will display the traits of a man or a woman, according to the idea they have of a man or a woman, instead of just being themselves. So you got a self reinforcing system where people play and pretend on basis of what is expected off them. In turn they will go even more into their role. If you get treated like x all the time, you will eventually start thinking, you are x. The human psyche is something awsome. Leads to pretty [developmentally delayed]ed results though.
  6. Hm.. i should go on holidays there or something. It's roughly an 1 hour car ride to hungary. @Topic: I feel a bit lost. Don't really know what to do. Generally spoken.
  7. Dark colored (mostly blue and green)T-shirts and longarms, jeans, sneakers. Plenty of my stuff is torn and worn, because new stuff costs money and money i don't have. Mostly i listen to punk rock. I painted the walls in my house with abstract shapes in various colors. My entrance room has rather bright colors, like red and yellow, my kitchen/living room/bathroom has much dark red and green and my living room/bedroom has mostly dark green, dark blue and brown. I can identify myself pretty well with grunge/punkish ideals
  8. You got an awsome point there.
  9. I definitely would have kept it and would generously throw it around. ("Please sir, do you have some change?" "Sure, have a 100$ bill."; "Hey guys, i'll have a party, don't bring anything..."; "That's 4.35$" "Heres 10$, keep the change."; .... 8-)
  10. Yes. Given the choice i'd rather see beautiful and healthy people (err.. read women). Since i don't watch TV this isn't really an issue to me though. For the whole how do you say? "People with special needs"? Why are my needs less special? You can either treat someone as special or as equal. You don't need to be a jackass about peoples disabilities, but you don't have to go out of your way to treat them special. "Jackass" reminds me on something. There is a very good movie about the subject: The Ringer with Johnny Knoxville. I really liked it, although i'm not the guy enjoying Jackass, meaning that it is nothing like Jackass.

    Ghosts

I've experienced my share of wierd things, so i dismiss almost nothing. Most of all: Sure it's a possibility that only the terrain charted by science is true. I can imagine a multitude of far more exciting theories though. Some of them more, some less convincing. Scientific world view is just another theory to me. I don't really like ghosts to much. They are too creepy. I prefer elementals and such. On second thought there could be pretty creepy elementals to. Well anyway.. some experiences i had just won't fit together with traditional scientific views very well (and too me it seems the world view of many still is deeply rooted in Newtons theories.) and some believes i have just clash with the fundamentals of science (namely objectivity, reproducibility.. although i wonder how those can hold their ground facing quantum physics.. and evidence. I guess scientific theory as a whole isn't compatible with my believes). All in all ghost aren't exactly my cup of tea, but i guess if you want to encounter them, you will encounter them. (I don't.)
  12. Yeah. Especially the moisturization... Me neither...
  13. [hide] [/hide] that's scary :ohnoes: I'd be totally freaked out. I had dreams where i woke up and still was in a dream to, but they weren't scary. (I dreamed i could move objects with my mind then i woke up and still could do that. Then i woke up again and i couldn't do it Had this dream a couple of times.)
  14. I never wore a tie in my life. (That's 25 years of no tie wearing) wtf are "character ties" or "Jesus ties"? EDIT: If i were to wear a tie, i'd probably go for a monocolored one. I definitely wouldn't wear one of those you posted.
  15. It really depends on your type of hair. As for me i brush it everyday with an ordinary brush, (something like this one) just to get the loose hairs out and wash it about twice a week. with this shampoo: I buy at the body shop rather for ethical then for cosmetic reasons. (btw this particular shampoo is for dark hair only) Imo it's better not to wash your hair too often. Personally i wouldn't smear any [cabbage] into my hair other then shampoo, but that's mostly because i'm lazy (part of the reason i have long hair - brushing and washing that's it. No need for a hairdresser.). There are people out there who swear on brushing frequently and long (like 100 strokes). I guess that would actually really be good for the hair (you'd need to use a soft brush though, unlike the one i posted the picture of), but again i'm too lazy for such things. Besides i'm a guy after all. My sister still envies me for my hair and i hardly put any effort into it. Guess i just have naturally good looking hair, or maybe it's because i don't wash it daily, wich might destroy the natural fat layer on the hair. That's btw the reason why brushing is good. It distributes the fat equally. (and yes, some fat is important. If you got too little fat on your hair it looks and feels like straw - it's blunt. On the other hand you certainly don't want to fat hair...) EDIT: btw i use shampoo very sparingly. Considering that my hair looks awsome maybe shampoo should be used that way.
  16. 'ey Lancer! Long time no see. @TE: I think you got the question wrong. In our culture it's often seen as bad to follow ones urges and desires. It is expected to be respectable and nice. While being loving and altruistic isn't per se a bad thing, it's often overdone. Egoism is seen as bad, wich leads to many people surpressing their wishes, staying unhappy in an attempt not to clash with the people around them. Motivation is often fear, wich imo is "the evil". Fear of not having enough, of not being accepted, of being alone, of being view as i don't know what, of losing what they have. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate - Master Yoda So you see, my young Padawan, there is evil in the world. It's everywhere you go. Evil just isn't selfishness and greed. They are merely the result. Ignorance is the root of fear, fear is the kidling of anger - Bad Religion "News from the front".
  17. My hair grows to the length of the lower edge of the shoulder blades atm. At that point it is really easy. You just can tie it to a tail. It won't get in your way. I wear it that way for about 12 years now, save for the time when i shaved my head. When it grew long enough i tied it again. It depends on your type of hair. Generally spoken it shouldn't be a problem to tame your hair on the occassions you need it to get out of your way. Just be creative! A hair net, of course, is a no-no. You can however wear a bandana or how this is called - pirate style. Gel it if you must (personally i don't like gel), use hair clips or a hair slide. Yes they can look cool even on a guy, depending on the type you use. Baseballcap or a wooly hat are also options. That's just what i can think of atm. It really depends on your style.
  18. Hey.. thanks a lot! This really did something for me. ... and please be blunt (or an "emotionless cow" for that matter =P) unless you prefer having an edge. This not-wanting-to-offend-anybody, political correct, always-nice blah blah doesn't help anybody, ever. I wonder if what you said would qualify as "good psychological practise". @TE: I don't feel particularly male myself, but i guess ultimately gender doesn't really matter. There's this distinct advantage of being male though: Most females are attracted to males, not even necessarily to males that live up to the stereotypes. Just look at mangas. There is this popular stream of very girlish guys that's mainly painted by women. Another thought: Once you are a girl, you still will have been a guy, unlike girls who were born girls. They always were girls. This is something that might bug you someday. Other then that you have my blessings. I just think it's at least a bit wierd to remove perfectly functional body parts. It's not even a mutation, like a 6th toe or something.
  19. The day Sumpta has to order her final meal is the day i'll lose all my faith in humanity. btw.. i think you can't just have anything for your last meal. I think it's only up to 25$ worth or something.
  20. [hide] [/hide] Before i did some googeling for this thrad, i never heard about she-ra. Eventhough Pricess of Power is closely related to Masters of the Universe. What does she say, in order to transform from Adora to She-Ra?
  21. Well thank you, but the bullet hole doesn't look like too much. Maybe i also haven't put it very clearly. On second thought it should also not just be an avatar, but something that can be scaled to any size. I put the following discription on another forum:
  22. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please!!! get your old avatar back!! It was awsome!
  23. If i were easily offend i would be now.
