  1. Schools teach spelling, the internet teaches UNspelling! Think it'd be interesting if the world gate opened up to the elven lands o.O
  2. Not entirely sure. What I DO know is that you can only do one every like 2 weeks or so, so unless your looking for a particular one, there's no point.
  3. Um.... not much to say other then "that sucks." Not surprised. Would be nice I guess, some kind of fail-safe where you get kicked out of ToG if you lose connection, get no tears and doesn't use your weekly tears. But maybe Jagex is worried people would abuse that if they got low scores? Eh, they probably don't consider it important. Either way, that sucks. And, um, since when is rc BOTH low exp and profit? Exp, yes, but it's fairly profitable. Not that many forms of skilling are VERY profitable, but RC *IS* one of the more profitable skills last I checked.... Not that I blame you for wanting to ToG it though.
  4. Nice. Very nice. Now make a humorous screenshot involving your death in that costume and the REAL grim reaper that's always around on Halloween. Please :)
  5. Last book I read was Carpe Jugulum, a discworld book by Terry Pratchett. And omg it had vampires! I'm going mainstream! Except this book was published 10 years ago, before this vampire culture fad >.> Not reading a book atm, because I have a habit of getting too addicted and finishing them too fast, and putting off other things <.<
  6. Yep its scientific fact just like: You're guaranteed dharok helm every 2.5 hours at barrows. Every 12 hours you get a visage from frost dragons or a godsword from godwars. 4mil/hr is guaranteed to think otherwise would be ignorant.  And this is why we have this post, lol. I mean if you really want to troll I can claim 5M or 6M an hour, but whatever Pssh. You call that trolling? THIS is trolling. Sorry I couldn't ressist >_< No that's sounding like either a) an idiot or b) a liar. And its resist. Idiot then. Too idiotic to be considered a lie. And woops, didn't notice typo.
  7. If there was a fairy ring at Corp, you might manage to take it to Zanaris tbh. Pretty sure that glitch has never been fixed. Wonder if you could take a Tzhaar there o.O I've seen jackals there quite a few times. Brought one with me (somehow) at least once. Twould be sweet having bosses attack towns; realistically, you'd have to make that area a safe-zone though. Or instance it, which would defeat the point of it.

  9. Offi-topic, but if you read that quote, it says he didn't really give a damn one way or another; he just wanted to save the Union, in the shortest way under the Constitution. (From this quote it appears) he just wanted to keep the U.S. together, and slavery seemed to be tearing it apart. 'Course what the hell do I know, I'm Canadian lol.
  10. I attempted to read through the first one, but what you say is right, I didn't like it. It wasn't bad, it just bored me. I much prefer The Dresden Files. I want to reread them all so bad at the moment because I went to Chicago about a week ago and annoyed the hell out of my dad by pointing out every place where Dresden has fought someone, or stuff like that. We went to the Field Museum and I pointed out the end of Dead Beat. We were at Union Station and I pointed out the fight between Dresden and the big billy goat gruff in Small Favor. As you can tell, I'm a big fan  Hah, nice. I want to try reading The Dresden Files someday, but as I mentioned earlier, I usually prefer MY fantasy in a fantasy world.... to each their own :) And that sounds like it must've been a fun weekend for you =D
  11. Darn kids these days need to learn some respect! Whatever though, I'm sure eventually his name will get caught, or changed, or banned, or whatever Jagex does in that situation. What really bothered me is the inability to report in that situation? :S The "What is your level ... " idea is a good one. :D Don't get me wrong, I very rarely use the report button, and seeing someone with an offensive username doesn't bother me. I'm just making the point that people with immature usernames are rarely mature people. way back a long time ago a famous (?) or at least very high ranking runecrafter was named [kitty] Crunch I dont know if Jagex banned him or made him change his username (this was long before the name changes), but I would say this player would be the exception to the rule. In fact a lot of players prior to name changes had names they made as a kid that they grew to regret or hate Lucky for me, I came up with this name while trying to find a way of having "halo" as my name without any numbers, and I ended up sounding like a bit of an intellect by having a name after a scifi book. Or just Ring Worm to people that dislike me,...lol See, but the thing, I don't find Kitty Crunch offensive. Whereas one of the negative effect of the name change are immature little boys (ok, maybe girls too, idk) changing their name to something immature and sexual for [cabbage]s and giggles, knowing all they'll get is a slap on the wrist. (Think it's how it works.) I think someone with offensive names should get their name changing ability revoked to once per year (i.e. one more change so they don't get stuck with 32957 after they get caught.) If they choose an offensive name AGAIN, they can be stuck with 3252 for a year. And I definitely once started a conversation on Ape Atoll just because someones username bugged me. Just a quick hi, lol. I also agree that someone shouldn't need to speak. Although the scamming one is kinda dated.... hard to be seriously scammed these days with the "Fair Trade" thing.
  12. What the hell is a psaltery bridge o_o But congratz! :)
  13. Lol, surprised it took so long for someone to mention that o.O And Ratchet573, have you read any of the Codex Alera books by Jim Butcher? Though from what you said about most fantasy, dunno if you'd like it o.O Dune books are also very good, but quite complex.
  14. Oh, god, that's the one about the apprentice who summons the demon to strong for him, right? Man, total nostalgia flash there, I'ma have to get those again. As for my favorite: It's been to long since I read a really good book. I pretty much stopped reading new books after I quit reading the Wheel of Time series, so I've got a lot of nostalgia going on this. For books that I've read since High School, I'd say Nation by Terry Pratchet. It was different from the rest of his stuff, but I enjoyed it a lot. Diskworld kinda got old, especially when I read them out of order. :3 Pre-High school, I'd probably have said Harry Potter #2. Though, I'm fairly certain there's something hiding in the back of my brain that topped that, but I forgot it. Ergh. For reasons that, looking back on it, appear to have been chance, I started the discworld with book 1. Because of.... who I am, I guess, I have made a distinct point is acquiring and reading them in the order they were published.
  15. For a while, it was my clan that kept me in. But recently, I have a lot of things I want to accomplish.
  16. Uh, no, if I recall correctly "So Long and Thanks for all the Fish" is publification of random crap from Douglas Adam's computer after he died. The 5th book is "Mostly Harmless." Depressing. Remember that chick he ended up with at the end of #4? They try to go site-seeing throughout the Galaxy, but she randomly disappears in a Hyperjump. In the first chapter. She doesn't come back, Aruther doesn't go on a long quest to find her, she's just gone. Rather depressing start, and it just doesn't seem to get any better imo.
  17. Oh! Snap! But seriously, as hypocritical as this may sound coming from someone who plays a semi-mainstream game... I don't like the concept of "mainstream" very much. It's just... things like Harry Potter, a very mainstream book... part of its popularity, like so many other things, is its popularity. Once something good becomes popular enough, the popularity causes an increasing number of people to check it out and (surprise surprise) they like it (frankly, if something is mainstream and popular, it has to have something going for it ;-) ) However, at a certain point people start looking, reading (in the case of books) and liking (in this case) the book, simply because it is "in" or popular. Not to diss HP or anything, still a good set of books, it just seems....unoriginal to me if that makes any sense :wall:
  18. Well Harry Potter, at least, is pretty hard to beat  That's the thing. I really don't think it's hard to beat. Good books and all, but I've read plenty of books I like just as much, if not more. Frankly, I think the reason it's so successful is (like Twilight - come to think of it, surprised that hasn't been mentioned yet) is because it's a story that a lot of people like and can really associate with; they're also both "fantasy" books set in the real world. Incidentally, I like my fantasy set in a fantasy world.
  19. Imo, you should only be disappointed about Brisingr if you didn't like the book, not because it wasn't the end to the trilogy. You seem to imply otherwise. Have to say, I'm a tad disapointed in this thread - half the responses seem to involve Harry Potter or the Inheritance trilogy - I was hoping to see a wider variety. Not to say that other books aren't mentioned but...idk *mumble mumble*
  20. Movie is always disappointing compared to the book. Have to say, the 5th one's a real downer. Recommend for people to just read the first 4. Good set of books, although *very* bizarre.
  21. Not to mention the supposed S&M of the new emote.... Ok. Seriously. If you can access RS, you can access the internet. If you can access the internet you can access....yeah. Stopping there. To the above poster: Congratz on your quetscape! :) A day late, or two depending on the time zone ;)
  22. Would the arcane stream increase the magic damage when using salamanders? (On the mage setting of course.) I think it would, but it'd be nice to know for certain.
  23. LOL! I'd have to say.... The Darksword books? (Trilogy + sequal to trilogy.) Death Gate series? Both of those are by the same authors o_O Discworld is an extremely funny series.... I might say more but my comps acting up. Reboot.
  24. Wonder if anyone else thinks the Zabeth Corvid conversation seems to be a reference to the discworld? Definitely seen the whole "person sees into future, offers reply before you ask question" thing in the Discworld. Incidentally, if you want to be a jerk (in the discworld) you don't ask the question after they give the answer. Causes a paradox/problem in the space-time continuum, and severe headache to the psychic.
