  1. Are all of us crew guys going to get ranked so that we don't get booted?
  2. If you're still looking for opinions on what to do, here's my method. Inventory: 3 Pouches, Law / Air / Earth Runes, Essence Worn: Black D'hide Body, Black D'hide Chaps, [bleep]y Black Vambraces, Spottier Cape, Boots of Lightness, Steel Pickaxe My method is basically the same as everyone else, except I use a Mounted House Glory rather than worn Glory Amulets. It saves me money by not having to have multiple Glories, since a mounted one has infinite teleports. It also gives me a safer inventory by not having to risk expensive items while runecrafting. Also, with my rune combination, I automatically go home, so I could easily stop in my kitchen and bake a cake or two if the Abyssal monsters do some extra damage.
  3. Whenever I have troll tasks, there are two places I will usually go. The first is on Death Plateau in Burthope. When you get there, dash to the southwest corner of the area as fast as you can. Typically only 1 Troll can attack you there. You can also hide inside one of the little tent-like buildings and range over the stone barriers, however it is possible for the trolls to walk around it sometimes if you don't set up correctly. The second place is inside Trollhein on the first level when you enter the cave. Upon entering the cave, go south until you find a door on the west side. Enter it and go to the first two rooms. It is possible to trap each of the trolls in these two rooms for you to range. The first one can be ranged at a straight shot by standing just outside the doorway (note that this may not work since 2x2+ creatures can now walk diagonally, so I can't confirm this spot's use). The second one can be trapped on the south wall. Simply attack him and draw him out to the hallway, then hug the east wall to the south side, standing a few steps back, and you should be able to range him. Note that these trolls I've told you about in this second option are Troll Generals, which are level 110+ trolls that can easily hit 30s on you if you aren't careful.
  4. Warning: Personal Opinion I've always wondered why we had those buttons myself. I purposely chose to completely ignore them because most of my accounts are for family use only (as in they're only used to talk to family members). I did make an MSN account so that I could keep in touch with the rest of the Crew, if needed, however that information has not been made public. Potentially, what we could do (random suggestion to the Admins here as an alternative to removing the option) is try and set up some system of reminders to those with their personal chat user names available. Every month or 2 (that might even be excessive, but still), an e-mail could be sent to players who have contact details shown that reminds them about the dangers of this information being exposed. If not a monthly e-mail, then we should at least make a general warning in the News Posts area every so often reminding people of this stuff. That area is probably more heavily read than anywhere else on the site, since it deals with site updates itself.
  5. Ask Tony Stewart (NASCAR Nextel Cup Driver for those of you who don't understand who he is). He got fined $25k for saying that on live Television... As for the topic at hand, I believe it was Albosky who said that people are here to look at your posts, not your signatures (or something to that effect). A general signature and avatar that is unique enough to identify you is plenty. For example, my Avatar and Signature are unique (I don't know anyone with a Fairly Oddparents signature) so my posts are easily identifiable and that's the main purpose of Sigs. Given, I had to crop and resize my signature quite a bit to make it fit, I did and I'm happy with it and I don't feel that additional increases are needed... Besides, if we keep bringing up these topics over and over, eventually we'd be getting to arguments to make the signature space large enough to stretch the screen.
  6. Mental Note: Do not drink Soda while reading this topic... I have to go get a tissue and a new shirt now...
  7. I've entered those stats into the calculator myself and they came out OK. As others have said, did you fill in all levels correctly?
  8. Either that, or we need to make sure that a policy is kept that anyone who posts on a spam thread knowingly will receive the same punishment as the spammer. By knowingly, I mean a topic that obviously breaks a known rule (such as someone making a topic where the only post is random letters), rather than people responding to What-If topics, even though we do class them as spam (I think). That should at least cut down on those posting on the spam topics as wanna-be mods.
  9. Probably not, but you realize you are breaking a rule? As whoever that was above said, you aren't supposed to post your messages from jagex due to that little line at the bottom of the message that says something to the effect of "Messages from Jagex are to remain confidential." Also, that looks like an "automated message" (which I personally don't believe is automated, but rather is just pretyped for copy-pasting) responding to the word "bug" in your message.
  10. Actually, no. I personally prefer submissions here than in the Submit Corrections area because if someone posts information, they are putting their reputation of their account at risk. In the Submit Correction form, it's almost impossible to tell who sent the information (you have no clue how many people have sent their name in as Zezima). Either way, I'll go ahead and add this. EDIT: UPDATE - It would seem that this drop is already added under the F2P drops section. Just a friendly reminder that just because you're on a free world, and certain are very common (such as laws), that doesn't make them Member's Only due to their scarcity in free worlds.
  11. I believe I did math on this a while ago, and this would further support the fact that you can't use a program to brute force from an external server. When you submit a password to be checked, it must be sent to the server, accepted or declined, and sent back to you with the result. For Runescape, this takes approximately 5 seconds. Now then, using the true math behind this, cracking a single-letter password would then take 180 seconds (using a possible 36 characters ranging from A-Z and 0-9). For each further attempt, the possible character combinations is multiplied by 36 (so 2 letters would take 1296 attempts [108 minutes / 1 hour, 48 minutes], 3 would be 46'656 [3'888 minutes / 64 hours, 48 minutes], etc). Now this is the possible combinations for passwords of that amount only. For it to pass through all 3 of those ones I exampled, it would be the sum of those. Given just these first 3 numbers... tell me how plausible it is to brute force a program...
  12. Just letting people know, the maps with the lists have been modified so that the links will now appear in a new window.
  13. http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=mos_l ... _caves.htm We already have a map of this up that Headnazgul made. I don't know personally when it was made, but we do actually have a map of this ourselves and yours is not necessary (not meant in a nasty way. Your map looks pretty decent). A possible reason yours may have been denied, however, is that we use a specific font and specific patterns on our maps (such as the monster spawns and ladder locations), and by putting them on yourself, you force us to make our own map so we can get them on how we'd like them. So if I may give you a tip next time, if you manage to get yourself a map, just leave it blank and we can handle the details on it ourself and credit you appropriately.
  14. No, it happens to me still if I do that... I doubt sound would have a difference (I usually have Music-2, all other-4). About the only thing different between me and you is the Operating System (I'm using an old XP version which is just Home edition). It's quite possible it was just lag on your part... And you somehow got it multiple times in a row...
  15. Can we get a picture of your in-game options? I have a feeling there might be something there that's doing it... Also, are you using the default client (a.k.a. clicking on High or Low detail at the top straight off) or do you have to change the drop down at the bottom first? And also, what Operating System are you using? Yes, I'm asking a lot of questions about something so little, but it's just nagging me...
  16. I'm sure Jagex calls on Zezima every so often to break these things up... And the Piscatoris Fishing Colony is the perfect hiding spot. There's a high level quest monster to beat, it's in the middle of no where, and it's next to impossible for "noobs" to follow you. And the work spots are so far out that a passing person wouldn't be able to see you.
  17. Hooray for boredom!!! I just loaded up my world select screen and took these numbers of all the American servers... As of 10:35pm EST (GMT +4) ----- The location of the present Tip.It Homeworld World 99 (US East 3) - 1968 Players World 98 (US East 3) - 1521 Players World 97 (US East 3) - 1508 Players ----- The Western Servers World 100 (US West 1) - 1944 Players (nearest World - 26 @ 1958 [+14]) World 70 (US West 2) - 1789 Players (nearest 2 worlds within 16 of this [31,42]) World 48 (US West 3) - 1145 Players (nearest World - 9 @ 1972 [+827]) World 65 (US West 4) - 1356 Players (nearest World - 64 @ 1369 [+13] / 66 @ 1407 [+51]) World 56 (US West 5) - 1130 Players (nearest World - 92 @ 1156 [+26]) ----- The Eastern Servers (not counting East 3) World 89 (US East 1) - 1270 Players (nearest 3 worlds within 16 of this [39,45,46]) World 104/103/44 (US East 2) - 1651 Players (nearest World - 36 @ 1676 [+25]) ----- The Central Servers World 58 (US Central 1) - 1881 Players (nearest World - 59 @ 1909 [+28]) World 79 (US Central 2) - 1906 Players (nearest 3 worlds within 22 of this [76,77,78]) ----- The least populated worlds were worlds 56 and 48 (Western Servers), so these seem good choices for the American East Coast night time. Perhaps someone from the West Coast could check these same numbers around 10:30 your time for reference, and then we can check again during the respective Noon hours (I have work tomorrow, so I wouldn't be able to do that).
  18. Something I noticed while playing Pest Control (at least on the 100+ lander) is that Spinners, it seems, will no longer declare attacks on you after you attack them first. I managed to kill a high level Spinner from full-hp to 0-hp and it never took a shot on me. It was at a shielded portal too. I saw another one that was a bit away from the portal attacking, so it may be while in the vicinity of the portal, they are not aggressive, period.
  19. Ok... here's a short and sweet one... I'm level 100, and the "noob," in this case, I didn't get the level of. Suffice it to say that he was in Heart Unit so he was of a higher level than me, but not by much. Either way, I somehow stumbled upon a Heart Unit world and as I logged in, I asked the common question for pest control... Me: "Is this a good world?" This one guy proceeds to walk up to me and call me a noob (realize that this is the 100+ lander, so everyone is good levels) because I didn't bother to check combat levels of other people (and I'll say that there were 3 people in the Lander at the time)... I swear, just because you have 10 levels over me, that doesn't mean you can call me a noob... If you hit triple-digit combat and you have a decent total level (mine is in the high 1600s), I don't think you can be called a noob at all...
  20. As I said above, being the one who coded those links (Ginger did the in-map links), you can blame that on me and it can easily be fixed once I figure out what the correct code is for opening a new window as opposed to opening in the same window. *cough* target="_blank" inside the tag For example: Text Guess we can ask one of our mappers to adjust that so that it's more representing of the intended goal... I need to stop talking so eloquently... ACK!! I did it again... Sometimes I hate being smart  . It makes me feel like whatever I say won't be understood...

  22. It looks like your internet had a hiccup when it loaded and missed a character that told your internet "Hey! This is code! Don't show it, follow it!" There's nothing wrong, it's just a minor glitch that shouldn't be worried about.
  23. Back onto the topic: What you are judging is not Tip.It itself, but rather its community. Also, a small group of people are the ones that hate pures and other groups (I am not one of them, I will add). To use an extreme, and probably partially inaccurate, analogy that still describes the point, that's almost like saying that places like Los Angeles, and other cities with large number of Drug Dealers, are filled with 'druggies' because there is a small group of people who sell the drugs and another group that use those drugs.
