  1. Firemaking isn't the most useful skill, seeing as how there are many ranges around Runescape. However, without Firemaking would there be Splitbark armour? The Splitbark Body piece is an essential item in mid to high-level PKing. At this point in time they appear to be useless. However, Jagex has said they will have a use in the near future.
  2. It seems Spades are one of the more frequently forgotten items at Barrows. However, just because someone asks you to lend them a spade doesn't make them a "noob". If I forgot a spade, I'd try to catch a helpful Barrower using the banking method and see if he would trade one for some runes.
  3. Well, RSN's are one of those things you get one shot at. If you decide sometime after you make your account that you don't like your name exactly as it is, this would be a cool alternative to change it a bit. You and I have no numbers in our name, but I have dozens of friends that wish they could have a name sans-numbers. Also, some people prefer to be called by their RL name, or a shortened version of their name. Once again, you're RAHK and I'm Cdub, both "nick names" are shortened versions of our actual names. I think nick names are a cool idea, and I can definitely see them being created sometime soon! :)
  4. From what I've seen and heard, the idea Jagex is changing the prayer level requirements for the prayers is fairly unsubstantiated, in that the evidence to date is a few people's opinions. I'm sure changing the necessary levels would upset a LOT of people, and I don't see the logic in changing it after so many months of having a successful level-set-up. Claims that the Prayer Skill is underdeveloped because the highest prayer available is at 52 don't make very much sense to me. The prayer skill isn't like Herblore or Cooking in that at a certain level you can perform a function that gives a set amount of experience. Prayer is beneficial to level (with the exception of PvP combat) up until 99. With every level the advantage of the skill is increased.
  5. There is no self-destruct function on the black mask. :D After it reaches (0), it DOES retain the +15% offense bonuses.
  6. Speak to Turael, the Slayer Master located in Burthrope. He's in a small hut in the east-side of the town.
  7. Instead of killing them, try running around to arrange them in a fashion where only 1 is attacking you. If you're still being hit hard, flip on Steel Skin. Good luck!
  8. To calculate your max hit, try arranging the items so they match your strength bonus. Then, set the ammy to Salve versus Undead. That should give you an accurate max hit.
  9. If it hasn't been put forth yet, there's a great guide on becoming F2P with a member-size bank. It might also be helpful to start a threat on the Marketplace forums if you haven't done so already. Here's the link to the guide: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=385861. Good luck!
  10. Yes, the Bolt Pouch can be purchased from Hirko. He has a crossbow stand in Keldagrim. It's in the main building on the east side of the river. The pouch itself can store up to 4 different types of bolts, as well as displaying what ammo you are currently using. Nice! How much are they... Someone should do a big crossbow guide for tip.it. The cost is pretty meager. I don't think you'll be too outraged, unless you steal from the stall. I've heard some horror stories of people not being able to successfully talk with Hirko hours after stealing from the stall. And I'm sure a full crossbow guide is in the works, but I think they already put a good deal of information into the existing Fletching guide.

  12. EDIT- I may have misunderstood the question. Red Spider's Eggs are used for 2 potions, both of which exist in P2P only. They are used in Stat Restore Potions (along with Harralander) and in Super Stat Restore Potions (along with Snapdragon). I believe he/she is referring to the potion guy in varrock. He trades strength pots (3) for red spider eggs and limp roots. I have never tried this myself but apparently it works. Oh, I see. I understood his question as the egg's uses as a secondary ingredient. But that's a handy trick. :)

  14. I think that makes perfect sense. The shield's main function is to "guard" the owner from "weapons". Not to mention the Obby Shield has a great Ranged Defence Bonus.
  15. On the Runescape main page, there is a section in the left column entitled "Knowledge Base". Click on "Customer Support" with the hand-icon. On the bottom of that page is an option to submit a game-related query. If your question regards billing, simply go further into the knowledge base with sections pertaining to billing.
  16. 10% of the total GP in the koffers is withdrawn daily. If you put in 75,000, than 7,500 would be taken. The reason you hear that 75,000GP is being payed daily is because that's the largest amount RS will take every day. Even if you stored 1.5M, only 75k would be taken. People store mass amounts of cash so they don't have to refill it frequently.
  17. These boards hold more than the skilled, but the kind, and the wise, and the generous. The quality of one's character is not defined by the items they have, or the level of their skills. Any player can be constructive and helpful, regardless of their Skill Total or Combat level. And this is why I love these boards. The community is great, the people are great, and the ideas they have are great. It's a refreshing break from the sometimes subpar community in populated areas of RS. To me, Tip.It is more than a fansite, it's a breath of fresh air. :D
  18. Awesome goals, and the same can be said about the achievements as well! I don't have the will to burn all of those Maples from Miscellania, I usually just sell them to fund the koffers. You're the perfect level to start training very quickly. :D The quickest way would be buying Green Dragonhides and making Green D'Hide bodies, then alching them. If that is wearing your wallet thin, try spinning flax. Making glass is a viable alternative, and is easier now with the addition of the Super Glass lunar spell. However, it eats your buckets. :(
  19. I don't know about you guys, but I'd rather use Dragonstone-Tipped bolts. Doesn't fire breath hit in the 40's?
  20. Cool idea in the first part. :) But, about the F2P statement, much like other Enchant Spells, I doubt these will be F2P.
  21. Everyone that PKs and has one brings it to the wilderness. If I die I can get a glory and pick it up anyway.
  22. Your luck isn't bad in this case. There's just no excuse to be using a Crystal Bow on an NPC with +0 Ranged Defence.
  23. I have killed more than 3,600 without a whip. Plus, I used 20,000 Magic Darts on them without a whip. I am the bad luck magnet, please. BUT, I do enchance the luck of everyone around me. Especially if you're on my friends list and your name begins with "Q" and ands with "e". OR, you enjoy screaming at NPC's and calling them color which they're clearly not, and you're on a mission to get a worthless drop from a large monster that drops the most expensive piece of armour in the game.
  24. People who say, "OMG, high-level nerd!", are most likely disgruntled 12-year-olds who really don't understand that behind every character has a person behind them. Plus they get joy from annoying you. Don't let them get to you, they will learn eventually. "On the moon, nerds have their pants pulled down and are spanked with moon-rocks." - Mooninite I'm sorry, couldn't resist that quote. Kudos to whomever makes the ATHF connection. :)
