  1. I love RuneCrafting. It's an addiction. I do a few runs through the abyss, and I am generally satisfied with what I've done. But then I do a few more runs, and a few turns into dozens, then dozens into hundreds. It's not just the money, but the idea of the skill--making magic from rocks. My name's Cdub: and I'm a RuneCrafting addict.
  2. Honestly I don't see why an impressive skill total is made more significant by a lower combat level. The distinction today between "skillers" and people who enjoy combat (regardless of their skill total) doesn't make sense to me. Combat skills may be easy to train, but so is cooking. If you don't like combat, don't train it. Would 126 Combat be more impressive if I had 1 Cooking? I have nothing wrong with people who don't train combat because they don't like it. Frankly, taking pride in admittedly neglecting cornerstone skills in RS for the sake of neglecting them is just foolish.
  3. Regardless of cost, skills should be ordered by Xp / hour. You can't say Construction is the easiest because you can get a ridiculous amount of Xp spending a completely farcical amount of money. From easiest to hardest I'd have to say: Thieving Cooking Fletching Prayer Melee Herblore Firemaking Crafting Mage Range Hitpoints Construction Hunter Smithing Fishing Woodcutting Farming Mining Agility RuneCrafting Slayer My WC, Smithing, and Fishing may be a bit off. Farming might also be considered easier, if you're using all sorts of patches. With Stripey Feathers I'm sure fishing could move up in the easy department a bit.
  4. It's not sexist unless you make it into something sexist. Being a skiller isn't insulting. Nearly every habit one forms in Runescape is a playing-style-choice. Naturally, all men don't have to slaughter beasts and women don't have to skill up the ranks. But, if you're asking whether either gender is inclined to make similar choices, I'd say there is a pattern. It's all really difficult to calculate because the ratio of men to women is so out of whack.
  5. Do NOT post ban messages, do not ASK for ban messages. Messages from Jagex are confidential, and not to be shared over forums. ~Cdub
  6. Just noticed that too. Great find! Wonder if there will be other costumes besides Camo? Or maybe different types of camo?
  7. Question answered. Please post with more polite language in the future. ~Cdub
  8. I am 99% sure the man in Dragon Armour was created by someone here, and posted in the gallery. I am happy about the bankspace, I assume it was done for Hunting.
  9. Just one level left, very close. Good luck on the home stretch. :D
  10. Sorry if I'm incorrect, but aren't there stem-cells available in umbilical cords that would ordinarily be discarded?
  11. It's a shame how some people behave in RS. Not everyone gives back the items of the dead, and you weren't exactly dumb not to expect your items back, even if the other person kindly returned them. Perhaps if he'd gotten the arrows, he wouldn't have returned them. It's ironic, the more expensive the item dropped, the harder the person worked for it, the less likely a person is to give it back. But hey, not everyone's like that. Just remember not to judge one by his or her combat level, or his or her membership status, but by the quality of one's character. Anyone, at any level can be a jerk. :)
  12. Good to here it's working out for you. Don't you mean 8pm-12am? Remember midnight's AM. :) Seems like you have plenty of participants, but it's usually too late for me.
  13. I will go after 100k nats, only 33k left! I'm a newb, so feel free to hold my hand. (Nats should be done by Sunday if you're wondering.)
  14. Please just take a few minutes to find the boards again. It's still there, I promise. ~Cdub
  15. I tried to fight a lot of people, but they just ran west to their team. I got about 6 kills, including a 122 (GF), a 116 (who dropped a rune scimmy), and some assorted level 100's. Everyone I faced was from RSC (except for the 122), and 3 of them had a Rune Scimmy. Nothing against RSC of course, because I'm sure there were people from there who didn't cheat, but to those who did, why ruin good fun by bringing weapons you know are disallowed? Well, if you want to win so bad as to do something like that, then enjoy your victory. To the 90% of the people from all of the fansites (because all did great :)) who just brought steel, great war!
  16. They may have gotten the idea from StarGate, who knows? I think most people look at RS, then look at similar ideas and immediately jump to the conclusion "Jagex snagged another trick". I don't think it's like that. While they may borrow some ideas, the whole Fairy-Ring-Dialing system just seems like an original idea from them. Like I said, it could really go either way. Did you know?: Fairy rings are an actual phenomena in real-life. Fungi are actually extremely complex lifeforms. What humans see of these fungi is, in reality, a miniscule portion of the actual organism (entitled the fruiting body). Beneath every fruiting body is a large network of small "roots" called hyphae, the term used to describe the network itself is mycelium. I'm not going to explain the mating-cycle of fungus, but I'm sure you could find out easily enough. Anyway, in certain fungi (such as those that Fairy Rings are composed of), the mycelium spreads out in a circular pattern surrounding the fruiting body. At a unanimus point for all of the hyphae they go through their mating cycle and emerge with fruiting bodies of their own. Thus, they are equidistant from the original fruiting body, creating a circle of fungus / mushrooms. They were deemed "fairy rings" as the growth cycle is relatively quick, and they would pop up over night and catch the amazed inhabitants of the area off-guard. :)
  17. Good goal, one that I'll set for myself soon. Very well organized post, very interesting ideas. I'm sure you will be double crafting natures before you know it. :) At 75 RC, you can do about 1.5K Essence an hour, or nearly 2.5K Essence an hour with super energy potions.
  18. Overall it was a good update. Not entirely good, but good nonetheless. Skill Menu - The bad news comes first. I hate the orange. The yellow was great, it contrasted well against the gray background and was easy to read. On the other hand, the orange is dark, tends to blend more with the brownish-gray background, and has less distinctive boundaries. Weapon Interface - Well, I really do like the look of the new interface here. It's more organized, easier to read, and offers a MUCH more "concrete" special bar. No more guessing if it's at 25% or 30%, because it's all green. However, I do agree it is annoying to have to hover over an attack style to see what it trains. Lastly, the auto-retaliate update was good. I could never find it before anywho. Equipped Items - I don't care if it takes two clicks to see the stats, I love this. The new view of the character, along with the ability to toggle items while in the screen makes this a very nice update. I would MUCH rather be able to change equipment while looking at my stats than be able to see my stats in one click. Emotes - Err, well I'll admit it's not the best part of the update. I don't really like it too much myself. In the very least, it's a cute update, and the pictures are pretty! Compass - It makes the game look more sleek, less clunky. I'm sorry if you can't tell which direction is which, but I'm sure you'll get used to it in time. We'll all get used to it in time. New Bottom-Icon Organization - Well, after about 10 seconds of finding out what button / switch does what, I immediately took a liking to the update. Definately an improvement from the jumble of buttons we had before. Rune Boots - For me, this was just as rewarding as the new interfaces. +2 Strength bonus is the same as climbing boots. Fantastic update, and I have myself a new pair of regular combat boots! I'm sure I missed a few but these stuck out most for me. The biggest bummer for me is the Orange-Stats, but I'm sure I'll get used to those.
  19. Lightwalk is good, but all I'm hearing now is the Pest Control Theme. I can't wait until they update the music. Wasn't that mentioned in BTS?
  20. I wouldn't miss this for the world. This sounds like a great idea, I just regret it's not a Rune War, or with P2P things. I'm sure it will be great, nonetheless. I'm trying to get 99 Str right now, and I'm hoping I can get it before this. So if you're into PKing, or even if you're not, come represent Tip.It in the biggest Steel War you've ever seen!
  21. I also think Dan Brown's a very good writer. I suggest Tuesdays with Morrie. It's a very quick read, and very moving. Also, The Autobiography of Malcolm X. Neither of them are very difficult to understand, depending on your reading ability. I like them both because they're both from a seldom held perspective on the world. Morrie is very pacifistic and fun loving, and Malcolm X is a radical revolutionary. Take your pick. :P
  22. Use the Search Button. There are a few other topics on this. ~Cdub
  23. You're all just big wimps! *Glances behind him at the closet* Yeah! Erm... Just big... Wimps! *Curls into a ball*
  24. I'm looking to get 91-94 / 95 Str in the next 10 days. If you want to find me, I'll be at PC. Of course, you still need to find what world I'm in! I'll be toiling away at the portals while you're having a stellar 10-days in Ibiza. Have fun Valor. :)
