Jagex knows what their doing!
Great way to put it... First off, I don't know what you mean by "stable" economy since it was essentially stable to begin with. If anything, the f2p economy was destabilized by the Grand Exchange and the problem was compounded by Bounty Hunters. Second, your argument against pures is simply laughable. If Jagex "doesn't support pures," then why did that option remain open until these recent updates? And your remark about what players are "REAL" or not is simply abrasive. A pure who played the game to PK and have fun doing it was as much a "REAL" player as some bump on a log who crafts essence all day.

Why would you do this..?
ADJUST TO THE CHANGES? HOW DOES A LEVEL 57 HYBRID ADJUST TO BEING ATTACKED BY A CLAN OF 90+ TANKS?
-
this might work...wildy idea
This and many similar restrictions have already been posited in mine and others' threads.

How to Bring PKing back to the Wilderness
Revised the "Fight Flagging" section. Players with very high-end equipment will have their actions logged instead of looking at "effort values."

f2p, and i beat everyone in duel arena and win peanuts for it.

Well actually I fought higher levels as well with my hybrid. And at times I could be pretty successful, properly equipped... It wasn't about just owning lower levels for me. It was about reaping the rewards of good timing or strategy combined with my power. It was also about surviving with minimal defense (I am still quite peeved that I accidentally got 2).

Why would you do this..?
Why is everyone so scared of the ghosts? They're ridiculously easy to escape from. Well, i must confess, i haven't enter the Wilderness yet, so im not too sure about how they work. Maybe they're easy to escape, but i dont like to be bothered while i make my pizzas (they're my only reason to dare to enter there) Im thinking about going there right now.... but i wont carry any armour.. just in case O:) See, that's why people keep getting owned. They don't put on protect from mage and get smacked by the range because they forget or chose not to wear armor.

Tip.it Times Presents: What the heck was THAT?
If this weren't the Internet, people like you would make me bloody FURIOUS. YOU try bounty hunter. You've obviously never really tried PKing, so you cannot tell the actual difference, but I can tell you that Bounty Hunter is the saddest, most broken "replacement" Jagex could POSSIBLY have provided. I've never PKed and I don't plan on going to Bounty Hunter any time soon, as I have 9mil in my inventory D: So could you (or anybody) get into a little bit more detail about what stinks and what's changed? (Or refer me to such a topic -too lazy to look it up O:)- ) Since I've been handing out more than my share of my opinion while on here, I suppose I'll just hand it to you straight: Bounty Hunters is a PvP minigame separated into three sections, each for three different tiers of levels: 3-55 56-100 95-126 (you read right) Regardless of which section you are in, you are immediately thrust into a multi-combat zone where anybody at all may attack you after six seconds. You are assigned a target to kill; the level and location of this target are completely random. You may attack anyone you wish, but if you kill someone that is not your target (even if they attack you first), you get what is called a "pickup penalty", which means that if you pick up ANYTHING, be it a bronze arrow or an abyssal whip, you may not leave the cave for three minutes. This penalty does not apply if you manage to kill your target instead of a random person.

Unless you're like me and months of training a hybrid have been destroyed. just get a makeshift team on whatever bounty world you on  That works real well when you're level 57 in a sea of fully-geared 90+ players.

Is JaGeX Stubborn?
See, that's fine. I wouldn't mind that if they would just come out and SAY it.

Is JaGeX Stubborn?
That's precisely what I'm saying, though. We CAN bring back a reasonable facsimile of the old wilderness without it being a convenient way for goldfarmers to trade assets.
-
Anyone one else quitting?
Because I cant really do much with my friends or cousin anymore because items and cash can not be trade unless I am going to go around and give my level 100 friends iron armor. Ok ya, I keep forgetting the trading thing. That part just plain stinks IMO. When I say "best update ever" I'm being a little one-sided in that doing away with player killing is the "best" part. Why is doing away with PKing the "Best Part"?

Jagex knows what their doing!
Because we know that destroying the Wilderness, while A solution, was not THE solution, and could have been implemented without hurting PKers had it been given more thought. So I believe that there is some kind of other reason for removing the Wilderness that Jagex has not been telling us about.

Is JaGeX Stubborn?
It seems like anyone who tries to suggest some alternate means to many of JaGeX's recent updates on their official forums is given a swift boot, as they will not hear ANY suggestions at all that involve alternatives based on the old state of things. For instance, any suggestions regarding the old wilderness are already taboo on the suggestions board. Yet, I have come up with and seen a number of other ideas that I believe, implemented properly, could work to bring it back while simultaneously hobbling Real World Traders. I can understand why Jagex doesn't want their forums flooded with "omg plz birng wlid bck", but why are they entirely unwilling to listen to more reasonable solutions and so adamantly against returning the old Wilderness, which has for YEARS been a loved staple of their game? Why would they be against bringing it back in a way that players could love but RWTs and goldfarmers couldn't make great use of? Are they stubborn? Do they believe that they can think of something that the players themselves would prefer to the old Wilderness through minigames (already a flawed approach)? Or are they right, and we're just being too hasty in judging them?

JaGex: The Great Protector
"What we have done is best for the game." Yet, there are many other ways they could have done the same thing more effectively and without raising hell among legit PKers, merchants, and stakers... Yes. Jagex should tell us everything.

Solutions to Updates
Why? Because people can still lose on purpose. Although goldfarmers' ability to transfer millions is virtually gone, cheaters with advanced accounts and lots of money remain who could still exploit this.

So.. What will you now? To F2P & P2P players
A SKILLER that feels bad for PKers? *hug*

So.. What will you now? To F2P & P2P players
I'm going to push my pro-wilderness idea as much as I can. If I can get my friend to post it in its entirety on the RSOF we may very well stand a chance of getting it back. Not saying my idea is perfect, but I think it has a good chance of beating out goldfarmers and cheaters while letting honest (or annoying) PKers do what they do best. I honestly miss PKers at the rune rocks now.

17 December 2007 - Future Changes to Recent Updates
I frankly think it extremely ridiculous that a player cannot establish his trustworthiness and earn or risk his gold however he pleases. I hate to belabor the point, but again, Jagex is putting the enforcement of their rules on the minority breakers before the enjoyment of their players.

final solution to bring pk back !!
I am a rune miner. I see PKers as simultaneously a challenge and annoyance. They are cowards, yes, but they are there for us to conquer, not vice-versa. Stand and fight, brother. Embrace the return of the PKers!

Why would you do this..?
Why shouldn't a substitute be akin to it's predecessor? Isn't that the entire point? What are pkers looking for in BH? For it to be similar to the pking they love or completely different? That's what I'm saying, though. BH IS NOT LIKE THE OLD WILDERNESS. When you said "sounds a lot like Bounty Hunters," I thought you meant that Bounty Hunters fit my description of what PKing shouldn't be (an organized blood sport where numbers and not individual strength and wits determine the victor)
