Jagex knows what their doing!
What I STILL don't understand is why they couldn't simply have put limits on the wild borders and teleports instead of squishing PvP entirely down into minigames.

A suggestion to stop autoers, bunny rabbits
Lol, a bunny named "Yew" that's painted brown with green spots...

Why would you do this..?
Funny, that sounds a lot like bounty hunters. Gee, I wonder why. Well if the description of bounty hunters emulated that of pkers, then where's the problem? If you're trying to show how pking is so different than bounty hunting then the description that I quoted you on isn't very convincing. The description of what PKing should NOT be is more akin to what Bounty Hunters is.

And thank goodness for that. I think Jagex can do a lot better at making unsafe PvP than what that morass had turned into. Say what you want about Edgeville, Castle, Rune Rocks, and Abyss PKers, but the rest of the wilderness truly presented an opportunity for warriors to survive and dominate based on their wits and abilities, and moreover to do it in as freely a fashion as they wished. PKing is about chaos. It is not an organized blood sport. PKing is about the strong surviving, not letting those who wish to opt out because they want to craft ess or mine rune be. I was a rune miner who used to moan about PKers - Now I honestly, truly wish they were back, even if the slimeballs that mine AND PK still deserve to be burned at the RuneStake. Also, I spent months training a hybrid I can no longer use so I could fight in the WILDERNESS, not some rubbish arena that Jagex will no doubt be throwing our way in a couple months' time.

There is not, and never will be, a substitute for the Wilderness.

Wrong AGAIN, Jagex... Calculus 101 revisited?
Problem not solved. This would allow a bot with 20m wcing xp to xfer all his chopped goods each time he fills up a load (40k per 15mins). This equation favours xp and total levels too highly when clearly Jagex want QP to be the prime factor on how much you can xfer. A rune scimmy every 15 mins is not to be sniffed at, but what needs to happen is the rather a set gp limit, make it so the trade barrier is a % instead. You can buy from GE less 5% of market price so why not extend these limits to be +/- 10-15% OR 30k (whichever is greatest) The problem with me slapping down formulas is that I like to pick at them, as is my wont. I'm STILL picking at it. I'm beginning to think Total XP should be divided by 2m or even 3m instead. Also, a goldfarmer with 20m xp is simply not realistic. That's well over 99 wc.

Wrong AGAIN, Jagex... Calculus 101 revisited?
Tch, delete my post, will you? Take THIS! ((Total XP)/1m + (QP + (Total Level - 32) + (Combat Level - 3))/100 + (Trades Completed (Value > 9,000 gp) + Duels Completed + Players Killed)/150) * 3,000 Which for OmniIcyshelf means (21.3 + 11.9 + ~5.4) * 3,000 = 115.8k/15 min Which for WcGoldFarmer (Let's say 75 wc) means (1.2 + 1.5) * 3,000 = 8.1k/15 min And for cases where this formula would make it under 3,000, it would simply BE 3000. Problem solved

Wrong AGAIN, Jagex... Calculus 101 revisited?
(Total XP/100,000 + (Total Level + QP)/100) * 12,000 = Hourly limit

How to Bring PKing back to the Wilderness
Like I've said, for any transfer at all to occur again, you would not only have to wait 24 hours, you would have to re-acquire the exact item that you lost, which means killing yet ANOTHER person with such an item or paying a fair price for it at the exchange, then getting that item (or items) re-registered. The current system allows transfer of said items anyway for the reasons I've already stated, only it is even LESS detectable. I'm not claiming that what I've proposed is perfect, but I think most PKers can agree that it is far preferable to what we have now and that it will not return the bot problem we had before.

The Fall of Jagex
Consider an apple. It can ripen, and after a while if nobody eats it, it will rot. Ripening makes the fruit edible, while rotting makes it inedible. Rot and ripening are both types of changes. Yes, change is necessary to make the apple good to eat, but it is also turns it bad as well. RuneScape is an apple. It is rotting. That is not a necessary change, and certainly one we should try to stop.

17 December 2007 - Future Changes to Recent Updates
Why improve it when they could just bring back the old system with limitations that would kill RWT but leave everything in that the rest of us liked about it?

17 December 2007 - Future Changes to Recent Updates
Yes they should, if they want the full game they should pay for it. By the time a player has finished all f2p quests they should have moved onto members, if they haven't they are just leeching jagex's bandwidth. We free players supply you members with your raw lobsters and your yew logs and your coal and your iron ores and your...

I am a rune miner. The cost of mining my commodity, before this update, was danger. The cost of yours was also danger, and now there is nothing. I would think you abyss runecrafters would like to see your goods go up instead of deflating rapidly.

The wilderness can STILL be returned without facilitating RWT.

Anyone one else quitting?
Not getting members as a result of updates; will quit in a month if there is no improvement.

The Fall of Jagex
This isn't a matter of unbalancing individual combat, this is a matter of destroying individual skill and replacing it with whoever has the most numbers and PC products on their team. Apples and oranges.

Monday Poll: What are your plans?
Propaganda. No, it's not. I am a rune miner myself and I came to the wilderness prepared every time I went to mine. If you were too weak to defend yourself, then that is your own problem. I am not saying I would set upon my fellow miners, but I was certainly ready to accommodate or escape from any threats that came my way. How dare you make such an assumption. Even the greatest PKers are now being destroyed by those who are both least experienced and are risking the least by one-iteming and/or traveling in unstoppable numbers. This is not a challenge- it is rigged; it is a risk not worth the meager rewards. I know this from two days of "PKing" in Bounty Hunters. You're right. They're not here to kill you for loads of ore. They're just there to kill you for absolutely no reason at all. No to mention they're completely witless. It was a challenge to escape from some PKers, and it is absolutely no challenge to escape from these. They're annoying and needless, and now our commodity - rune ore- is going to go slowly down in price as more and more gutless miners migrate from the Hero's Guild to the wild rune rocks. I hope you're happy. Merchants mainly make money because people are willing to pay for convenience, not because they are exploiting others. That is a dead method of moneymaking since the profit cap shall shortly be 3k per 15 minutes. Ridiculous.

Giles Bug
I liked it better when they only noted my items and didn't teleport me. That way I would still have the 7k nats I lost because of him.

The Fall of Jagex
I havent PK and I will never PK eather 1 question can you do PvP ? Yes - if you want a random fight go to BH if you want to fight a chosen person ... go to duel arena PK is Player Killing. PK doesnt meen you win something after you defeat your opponent ... it was just an extra bonus Again, it is people like you who- those who have never PKed- who cannot possibly understand what was lost when the Wilderness was destroyed. Bounty Hunters is a broken minigame that is not and NEVER WILL BE a substitute for it. I played it for a while on my main (the only account that was feasible for it since it was at the top of the middle of the three completely arbitrary and unbalanced level sections) and got a few kills, but it REQUIRED me to join up with others whom I had no desire to join up with and attack people I had no desire to attack, and on more occasions that I can count I have been backstabbed or piled after I get a kill by the very same people I joined up with. Everyone I attack when I can solo without getting piled insta-prays in a 1v1 (I am proud to say that there are a few exceptions to this). I get enough kills that it isn't a complete waste of money, but I have still burned through over 1k nats, 1k addy arrows, and over 1.8k deaths, not to mention the supporting runes for these. It's usually impossible to kill my bounty target since he's in a group or even in MY OWN group, not to mention he is usually even STRONGER than I am; assuming he does DIE, it is usually NEVER my kill. There's more, but I don't want to bore you with those details. This game is so riddled with flaws that Jagex truly has made Swiss cheese of PvP. PKing in the Wilderness was once a source of glory and money; it was a testament to one's ability, based on how they raised their skills and chose to fight in battle, to dominate anyone they so chose and take their possessions as the spoils of war. Not anymore. Now it is a measure of your ability to survive against numbers and take advantage of your own team's weaknesses in order to do the most damage and get a kill. As to dueling- I don't think I need to explain why Dueling in the Arena is different than a true Duel in the Wilderness.

The Fall of Jagex
Those of you who have never PKed before or have before the Wilderness was RUINED, I urge you to try Bounty Hunters and see what we mean when we say PvP is dead.

The Take Over, Real World Tradings Over
I don't see any reason to thank Jagex for killing 50% of what made this game fun for me for the purpose of destroying 10% of what annoys me about it.
