Whose opinion holds weight?
Same can be held for a 100% F2Per who reads P2P guides all the time. Yep it was just an example, thing is you can't know that from looking at someone's player details... you need to speak or argue with them. But I usually assume that a 100% F2Per might know that the abyssal whip is the best training weapon... but this player has probably no knowledge how to time eating food or drinking pots. Knowledge is fine, but experience provides more depth. Having both will hold more weight, but if I had to choose between the 2, knowledge is my choice. I have witnessed lots of players claiming they can feel they are due for a drop because of timing, high hits, number of kills on a particular spawn... those players' opinion I dismiss easily.

Whose opinion holds weight?
Those players that can debate using correct grammar and sane arguments, basically 20-30% of all players in my experience and about 75% of all regulars rants forum posters. Of course I view F2Pers opinions on P2P gameplay to be slightly uninformed and my opinion on F2P gameplay is nonexistant and should be that way since I never log in F2P. A lvl 3 skiller that never went to GWD but read every guides available will probably have a better opinion on the matter than me. You can't classify opinions based on a sig or the info below their avatar.

The reason for price droppings
You might, they are some patterns to prices but not a definitive one you can define and project. That's why it's called investing or merchanting.

Mining Sucks (round 2)
So do I, even though my mining will probably once come from concentrated mines in the future...

09-Nov-2009 - Champions Challenge Update and Hairstyles
Before the update, they were about 300k per hour to range thanks to their increased onyx bolt tip drop. I used to do this on PvP worlds occasionally for EP and money. and odsidian charms for lava titan...which are 3K profits on the G.E. these days... It's true though that people don't kill tzhaar for tokkuls...I used to get 2K tokkuls per hour from, so double that amount to 4K tokkuls, it is still not the best way to gather them. Getting a single onyx tips will trade in more tokkuls than one hour from tokkuls drops.

09-Nov-2009 - Champions Challenge Update and Hairstyles
To think I just killed tzhaars for 1.1K charms last week... missed out on a tons of tokkuls! Nice update all around!

F2P, is it becoming P2P?
about sums up my opinion.

food shortage?
You can bet that there are a lot of people that are gonna wake up when the update gets release and whine that merchanters are ruining the economy, the G.E. is broke because they can't buy what they want unless they have tons of junk all the while they could have gotten to a fishing spot for enough food to last a while. I understand planning ahead and investing is wise, I'm just half-ranting against the players who are too short-sighted to do either.

food shortage?
It's a combination of less players skilling and more cash available... it has always been about supply and demand more than inflation.

Should F2P get skill capes?
Sadly though this is a realistic argument. Another valid argument especially for skills cape is that Jagex might not want to give too much end game content to people that do not pay. End game content is an incentive to join members. I think it's a purely financial question and I see no wrong in that. I don't understand why F2Pers... and P2Pers want skill capes that badly... it's a status symbol and should rot in every members bank when that player has a fire cape... I know status is important to people who lack self confidence, but I didn't know RS players were lacking that much.

Slayer Master
I suggest you get to at least 85 in all melee skills before having a go at duradel full time.
-
food shortage?
I knew keeping my 3K rocktails was a good idea... I also expect to sell all my monks; sharks and swordies for a nice price next week end. I also can't believe all the people that saw that twitter update and didn't think of going fishing instead of trying to compete on the G.E....

Should F2P get skill capes?
If we take economics and all that crap out of the way, the only valid argument is that F2P should get skill capes. A 99, regardless of F2P or P2P, is an achievement, and anyone deserves to show it off. I agree with 99% of what you said... the only part I disagree is the part about economics being crap. I have a feeling that it's a big part of why skillcapes are not F2P.

Runescapes Rarest 99's (as of November 1, 12:01 am)
nice find plqx! What update could have made people long for 99 str last summer? Or maybe it was the godswords and SS stabilising and being available at reasonable prices... I'm expecting attack to reach rank 2 in the next 1-1.5 year. Can someone pinpoint the release date of armored zombies...?

Runescapes Rarest 99's (as of November 1, 12:01 am)
@ plqx Those are the most interesting charts I've seen in a while on these boards. Great job! If you could make some charts giving us the number of players getting 99 per month (instead of the cumulative one you made), it would give us a clearer idea when skills get obvious boosts from updates or simply trends in the community.

Runescapes Rarest 99's (as of November 1, 12:01 am)
You need to get over yourself, seriously. You're not impressing anyone, and you'd expect to get "respect" for having 99 mining, but you threw chances of that out the window when you started training it. Mining has gotten another 600 people that too, trained a useless skill for a cape, since the mines that made the skill somewhat bearable. Construction's 2nd because it's useless, really. How often will you hold a "house party" to show off? Only party most people will throw is getting a 99. And you can only do that so many times. It's pointless, and "rare". As was herblore useless after level 84 up until recently. I'm not entirely surprised to see these numbers, however, Strength I didn't expect to be that high. But just because it's most common, shouldn't degrade what it takes to actually get it. And the fact it's one of the most useful skills considering to train pretty much any melee stat effectively, you'll aim to have high strength so you can do so with hitting high numbers. It's the skill most pures train, for obvious reasons, and it's F2p. Firemaking's low simply because of how it's rather pointless to train past 92 (92 for the Adze). That, and it's incredibly time consuming unless you have brawlers with magic logs. Most repetitive skill, I'd say. (Personally..) I doubt mining will get over 10. The new updates just brang a new place to train that gives better xp for banking ores, not for powermining. Powermining is still the fastest way to get mining up. It'll stay in the lower 10 for at least another 2 years imo. :D You are not taking into account the fact that there are many players that hate powertraining and have started mining the casual afk-way. Probably top 10 for the next two years, but I kinda doubt it.

99 slayer - Bank Pic - Stats
Grats on slayer! This has got to be the best journey to any 99 especially with how it relates to many skills (charms for summon, seeds for farming, herbs for herblore, gems and half keys for crafting...) Good luck on your future goals! any idea on total bank worth?

Should F2P get skill capes?
Yeah this is mostly a wild guess. I wouldn't be surprised if Jagex took a loss with F2P for promotionnal purposes, it's a common practice and a benefiting one considering lots of members learned how to play in F2P. Once again I go Off-Topic... On-topic : F2Pers deserve skill capes as much as P2Pers. From a business viewpoint, I don't think Jagex will release end-game rewards for F2P though...

New Skill Hint?
24hoursawake, the new skill coming out is b...oring! We need to scratch it and get better developpers, hoping to have it online before 2013. You guys should have read the whole thing!

Should F2P get skill capes?
They do deserve to get updates, they are the ones who help pay for the member's benifits even if they dont realize it. So if there were no ads it may have taken a few more years for all of the new quests, monsters, areas, and other fun things. So... :shame: This shows how clueless some kids can be...Ads represents 7% of all revenues from Jagex. Assuming the F2P/P2P ratio is 2 to 1, every F2Per contributes 1/26th of what a P2Per contributes. What is commonly accepted, is that ads roughly covers the costs of maintenance and running the free game. By the way, this is also assuming all P2Per never view any ads (homepage and diffent sections of the RS webpage).

That FINAL Random Event!
They are random event...of course getting an event will be random.

Mechscape is going to destroy runescape.
Just thought of something when and if the new game comes out. There will probably be a lot of players taking breaks from RS to try out the new game (duh...). What can be expected from this ?? Lots of people selling high lvls equips to invest in rares. I see a huge shift in value of some high profile items in the weeks following the release of the new game. If the game is a success, expect lots of rare to "vanish" and rise if the players taking breaks never come back. If it's a failure, expect the market to regain balance somewhat quickly.

Items Kept on Death
I lost 3rd age mage amulet and 3rd age mage hat once due to connection problem at the same time as a Dr. Hyde/Jekkyl random and both fury and RFD gloves protected over it. I was mad mainly because of the place I got the random (iron and steel dragons). As for the "flawed" system, I knew what I was risking and I accept the loss. The system is fine by my standard and constructive cristicism as, you put it, is not what you are doing. You offer no solution to this and don't offer value based on the G.E. as someone's items kept on death could change every 4 hours because of G.E. updates. Player chosen items kept on death could be a solution... Don't know if the technical implementation is simple or not.

Runescapes Rarest 99's (as of November 1, 12:01 am)
Slightly surprised at the number of 99 slayers out there, definitely less impressive than it was just a year ago. Surprised that there are not more 99 firemakers out there... I mean with so much cash entering the game, fm brawlers and insane xp rates, I expected at least 60-70K players. I expected also a lot more thiefs, goes to show that the skill is not very popular despite having one of the best xp rate out there. Not surprised to see that RC is still and will be the rarest for a long time.
