My number 1 recommendation would be to clean herbs. You buy tons of grimy herbs, clean them, and sell the clean ones, it's a bit slow but you break even. From 38, prayer pots cost only about 5 gp/xp, which is pretty cheap herblore-wise.

Fish what you enjoy fishing, because if you don't you won't last very long and that wouldn't be very pragmatic at all. Monkfish is the most pragmatic choice, but personally I hated how everyone there says nothing. Barbarian swordfish/tuna fishing is pretty fun, maybe try with swordfish gloves. Anyway, you got a lot of options if you don't mind losing a bit of efficiency, otherwise just use monks.

Big move!!! come in for more info (Small things thread..)
highlanders replied to nightzero's topic in General Discussion
Thats just what merchanters want. And how is that a bad thing? "Normal" people would also like to trade without having to go through junk-making. -
Just kill Zilyana, there's less people there because you need 70 agility.

RuneScape getting kiddier and kiddier???
highlanders replied to zdavenz's topic in General Discussion
Been said million of times. You know what, maybe it's not getting younger. In RSC there were also quite an amount of kids. Maybe the problem is that people are getting more and more unpleasant. In RSC it was a bit more difficult to be a pixel hugger since the pixels weren't all that pretty to begin with. But nowadays it's all about the money, the bragging, the levels, though it's a wonder how things become like this. Maybe the new generation of kids are just jerks, who knows. I remember when sleeping bags came out. When I first used one, I thought there was like a hacker haxing my account and I hurried up to close my RS window  -
Jagex is planning 2 more skills! or a typo? proof inside!!!!
highlanders replied to Lodewijk66's topic in General Discussion
It's probably a typo. Saying 25+ skills means that there should be 25 skills *right now* which is not the case. And the + refers to future skills they are planning. If no skill comes out next month, we can safely assume that it was a typo. As somebody pointed out, legendary is misspelled two times so a typo is quite possible. -
That's the 1 million dollar question. What's with all the "I play because it's fun and addicting", why is it fun and addicting to you? Think you narbs! ¬__¬ I play because there is a huge amount of content, I don't know of any other mmorpg with this much content. It doesn't beat some other games' combat system, graphic immersion, storylines, etc, but it's a good game to supplement with because it gives you something other mmorpgs can't give you.

It's called 3rd age  But it is about -30 or so defense bonuses compared to barrows, if i am not mistaken. Not too bad for no repair costs. 3rd age is horrible armour to train with. It is a liability, not an asset, you cannot make any mistakes otherwise you lose millions. If with barrows it would take a long time to equal bandos' cost, with 3rd age forget it. If somebody wants expensive training armour, bandos is the way to go with +6 str and +2 prayer. 3rd age is for looks, and safe minigames.

I want to get some holy water that was used in the legends quest. So far I got the gold bowl back. Now the next step is to ask an npc to enchant it using the bull roarer. Thing is, the jungle forester isn't giving me another bull roarer like the tip.it says he should. And I can't get the bull roarer the same way I did the first time in the quest. Is all hope lost?

Actually, it was a jagex employee but doubt it was specifically mod *dave*. For instance, when you send a customer support query, and that you get a signed answer(automatic or not) from mod X, there's about 5 employees using that name to sign. You could have been answered by that specific person, but most times it's one of the lackeys that answered. The lackeys being people that come and go in the company, summer jobs, interns, students, etc, and thus don't get their own name to sign. Same goes for jagex mod accounts you see roaming around RS, it could be the actually mod, but many times it's just one of lackeys checking something out. I got this directly from a jagex mod, feel free to believe or not.

Obsidian (Zerker) Necklace: What Happened to it?
highlanders replied to Zaaps1's topic in General Discussion
The obby mace is a notch slower than the obby sword, 5 vs 6. Might not appear as much, but it's a difference that's adds up. The delay between each attack for the sword is 2.43 seconds, and for 3.04 for the mace. So for instance, in 1 hour of combat itself, the sword will hit 1481 times, and the mace will hit 1184 times. Which means the extra power of the mace must be able to make up for about 300 hits/hour in order to be the best, which is a bit difficult to calculate, but we can deduce. Obby sword Stab 47 Slash 38 Crush -2 Strength 49 Obby mace Stab -4 Slash -4 Crush 62 Strength 56 Now if we look at how the berserker necklace works by itself: it increases final damage by 20%, NOT strength by 20%. That's why a weak weapon like this can rivalize with the whip. Your combat stats do most of the work, and of the outcome the necklace adds a nice bonus to it. We can't conclude for sure without field calculations but if you deduce, the obby sword's speed most likely makes it the best. Because your stats and the bonus do most of the work, not the weapon, and as such extra speed is preferable. As a side note, the necklace drops all defence by 20, so for instance if you have ~250 defence everywhere, it gets dropped to 230, which is no big deal for high level players. Other side note, because low level players lack good combat stats, the obby mace is probably best for them. -

There's a vast difference between intelligence and typos. Typos are mistakes you make when you're not paying attention, it is not an inability to write correctly. Similarly, somebody with flawless grammar is not automatically granted intelligence, insight, and knowledge.

The poor nabs would get tons more money just killing cows and tanning their hides.

You Know You've Been Around TipIt Awhile When...
highlanders replied to Cabbage_Boii's topic in Questionnaires
I think it has something to do with the 3000 posts and the joined in 2004 thingy under my name, but I'm not sure =P -
Get your farming up and grow some ranarrs, and later some snapdragons, for profit. So that's 50-100k an hour. Then plank some logs(oak is probably best but look into it), that's about 200k an hour. So that's 250-300k an hour. You could also mine some pure essence, also in parallel as growing herbs.

If Jagex came out with t-shirts for jagexstore.com
highlanders replied to Latinoking's topic in Questionnaires
Gamer t-shirts are disgusting. And that's true for all message tees aswell, gamer t-shirts being up a notch on the scale of patheticalness. The joke is harmless when you're sitting in front of a computer, but actually even bothering to buy clothes like that - in itself - is undignified. Might seem swallow like that, but clothes is the only way people can tell about you at first look. And sending out that message to people - hey I'm a geek and I even bother to buy idiotic t-shirts - is just beckoning for social exclusion. Imagine a girl passes by and thinks you're cute, but she sees the t-shirt - major turn-off, never going to talk to you. Same goes for friends, employers, strangers, and everyone else that's going to pass by. Enough people in america dress like idiots, idiots are common. No one important ever dresses like an idiot, because of just that, they're important and they know how to show it. Think james bond would sell any movies if he dressed like a farmer? Think batman would be just the same if he dressed out of a walmart discount box? Think Cuddy would look so sexy without all the striking clothes? I'll leave you to ponder about that. -
Runescape Night-Day mode + You think Jagex planning this?
highlanders replied to Dire_Wolf's topic in General Discussion
Not bad, but night has to be blue-ish instead of black-ish because then we don't see anything. Sometimes it's already bad enough with brightness at max. -
Don't do slayer if you don't enjoy it, period. What's the point of doing something if its just tedious work, and you get no fun out of it?
