  1. It's a kind of skill that can't please everyone. You plant, you wait, but you get to do other things meanwhile. It's the whole "waiting" thing that people don't like. Many people including myself would have preferred a skill that you actively train without having to wait. It's also disappointing how there is basically no high level perks. Wow, I can grow a magic tree, so that I can burn my money even more! If Jagex had introduced actual uses for trees, hops, fruit trees, some perks that it would have natural to give for high-level farmers. But instead all you get is lousy cut option for trees, which is a waste of time, roots with barely any use no doubt they're worthless. Fruit trees that barely give any fruit, and that you can never get your money back from unless you waste your time walking to pick their fruit, for barely any exp. Everything is a basically a waste of time and money, except herbs. No perks whatsoever. If you want to train it to a high level, unless you're rich or you don't mind waste a year of your life no-lifing herbs, it's impossible because only the outrageously expensive seeds give enough exp, everything else is pathetic exp. So even if you wanted for some reason to train it to high level despite its uselessness, you can't. Really, farming is not that misjudged. Why would people love a skill that is useless except for 1 thing(herbs), a huge money sink that doesn't even give you perks for wasting all your money and your time. Why would people love that? That's right, they don't.
  2. You make no argument apart from "why not?". Why not...? How about why? Ranged is already balanced, so why would we need this?
  3. Zomg! It's the undertaker! Farm herbs, tan green dhides, mine gold, craft nats/laws, mine pure ess, train hunter to catch chins. Long term, it's probably best to raise combat as it unlocks tons of possibilities and makes things easier overall.
  4. It'd be nice, but I doubt the graphics, even with the new ones, would render it very well. We still can't see the sky, which is a big chunk for everything weather-oriented. For instance, you may see thunder striking down but never actually see the clouds. It may rain/snow, but you only see it from a downward perspective, which is a huge turn-off. I say Jagex needs to make a sky before considering ever doing something like this. Is possible without a sky? Yes. Worth it? Not really.
  5. I had negative membership once, it's not a big deal. If you sent the money, you'll get it back. Only took about 3 days for me. I don't remember if it was an option, but I hope you just didn't send an envelope with money in it because that'd be guaranteed to be looted by somebody along the way.
  6. The ring appears to do nothing because, for instance, if you have a 1 out of 10 000 chance to get x object without, and 1 out of 5000 with, the difference is obviously not going to be striking. But if you use it for say, a GWD general with 1/50, 1/100 odds, then there might be something interesting there. Overall, I don't think it's really worth it, it's still 99% up to odds. But it's worth taking in some situations.
  7. You can be close to somebody on a game, but it's not going to have the same depth as a relationship in real life. Photos and videos don't do much, it's never going to feel the same way as being physically close. Though it's possible that in a 1 out of million chance, somebody somewhere, is going to have the best relationship of their life on RS. For instance, someone with haft of their body paralysed, a dying kid with cancer, a mute, somebody that suicides at 18, are examples of people for who a different truth applies.
  8. Like sumpta said, in a spot with no room for two people, it's rude to bash in and take the spot. Sometimes, it's the other way around, like at dagannoths some people attack all of them and you are left with none, then the only route to take is to attack theirs because they've left none for you. Note that the dagannoth thing applies only when someone manually attacks all of them. But that's the annoying thing about courtesy, you have to be watchful of what you do and that takes its toll. You have to be watchful to not enter someone's virtual personal space, taking *their* respawn, *their* tree, *their* world, *their* spot, *their* dagannoth that attacked by itself, all of that is incredibly annoying. I find it much more liberating to just bash in and do your thing worry less. But that annoys and hurts people because they interpret your actions negatively, while all your trying to do is be worry less. Then they say something about you being a jerk, making it all worse. But at the end of the day, I'd say bashing in is the best choice. You aren't responsible for people's interpretations. It's not like you're trying to be mean on purpose, like insulting somebody verbally. You log in, at say greater demons, someone is already there so you try to get the kills, which they interpret negatively. It's not like you can get into a lengthy discussion and explain that you're not trying to be mean. Though, in some situations, something is obviously rude, like trying to steal chin spots. Kinda reminds of me of Dr house, he doesn't care about social rules, so people interpret what he does negatively. But, unlike everybody else, he has greater liberty and freedom of mind, especially for people that are used to him. But he definitively pays for it. So I guess you have two options. For each you pay a price, and get something in return. Ignore etiquette and have the liberty of being worry-free. But in exchange, expect some mean comments on public chat, or be in isolation with public off. Follow etiquette and never get insulted, but you always have to be watchful for every tiny detail which will take its toll. You basically change your life to please the interpretations of others, which makes it unhealthy imo. As a side note, being worry-free is like those times when you actively chat via pm while killing stuff(or something similar) with other people around. Your mind is busy with the pms so you pay no attention to etiquette and just kill everything you can see. But later find an offensive comment in your chatbox about how you're a jerk for killing *their* respawn. Technically, you are being rude, but you got total liberty, which is great. Kinda like US vs. UK. In the UK you have all these courtesies. Hello, thank you, good day, let me hold you the door, want some help, and so on. In the US you can get away with basically anything and people won't look down on you. It doesn't really apply to the concept above, but it's a nice parallel.
  9. So, you like darts. Darts are cheap. You buy darts, you happy. Just take smithing out of the equation.
  10. Well that would make just about everything thing even FPS games grindfests. On runescape even at low lvls like 50's -60's you can do stuff. But on some other games you have to grind for xp training combat before there is much to do. Mmorpgs are bound to have grinding, they have to, otherwise absolutely everything becomes pointless. Single-playing games typically have none, everything is rich, fun, appealing, but you only get about 10-20 hours of gameplay. There are exceptions, like the sims, which has some amount of grinding, thus you get more hours of gameplay but you sacrifice the sheer fun you get with other games. If mmorpgs only took 20 hours to complete, there would be no point in playing, thus the need for grind. To enjoy RS you need to like goal-achieving, as most of the enjoying things are unlocked after a crapload of grinding.
  11. That would target different demographics. That can be either good or bad. Good because new type of gamers may be attracted to the game. Bad because other demographics might not be interested at all.
  12. I suppose it's a bit odd for Jagex to decide to change a requirement, they usually never change. You got a point for free, and the requirement raised of one point, so you're in the same position as before.
  13. You should play a game with lenient rules. RS really isn't for you.
  14. [hide=] if you read the whole tread you would know that you are spaming, but assuming you didnt ill restate what we are talking about. this is not me whining about the number of ppl at bandos this si discussign how to fix it, why its going on, what can distract ppl from bandos and so on. i have stated that i do, do other bosses(currently working on 65/70 agility right now) and i have no problem doing other bosses. it is just why should it be imposable for me to do bandos? because when i gdw i like to do a little of everything #-o [/hide] I just told you how to fix it. Adapt to the current situation instead of trying to "fix" it, kill Zilyana. You're like a kid who has dropped his spoon on the parquet and now you're trying to invent a device that prevents spoons from dropping. Just pick up the damn spoon.
  15. But notice how F2P has about ten times the numbers as P2P. Isn't this the same case as scimitar ws 2h, more hits vs tougher hits? And players like the scimitar more. Think of it also as 10 level 40s vs a level 138. Again, even if there's like 20 f2ps hitting 2's on you, you just eat. The only reason you'd die is if you just stand there doing nothing. Somebody with a godsword can 1 hit most f2ps, whips would just rip through them too, they wouldn't even have time to eat their silly f2p food. And the lvl 138 would completely destroy 10 level 40's. Just play a game of castlewars, you'll see, and that's not even close because the 10 level 40's would be f2p aswell. The level 138's just annihilate everything effortlessly, including the levels 100+.
  16. The game itself can be enjoyed by all ages. The community is mostly teens, but that doesn't mean older people can't enjoy the game.
  17. You can do it. The levels and equipment matter, but not that much, it's just to get to jad. It's really about how well you can switch prayers on the final fight with jad.
  18. With the low prices of d boots, demons definitively.
  19. The SS is being manipulated, I were you I'd stay away from buying that one for a while. And if you buy one, make sure to buy it when it is in the depths of its price(the bottom pit of a downward in price right before it starts raising again).
  20. Actually, with current market prices, farming kwuarms and ranarrs is better money than snaps. Snaps makes 21k/seed, and with about 1/5 herbs dying each run you lose 30k thus lowering it to a pathetic 13.5k/seed. Kwuarm makes 18k/seed, and with about 1/5 herbs dying each run you lose only 3k, making it 17.2k/seed. Ranarrs makes 24.5k/seed, and with about 1/5 herbs dying you lose 21k, making it 19.2k/seed. The best combinaison is ranarr at the trolly patch, and all others kwuarms. Snaps are for narbs, not to mention snaps seeds monopolize a lot of money because they're expensive. Apart from that, get varrock armour3 and buy all 64 staves from zaff for 7k each and sell on GE for 8.4k. Collect your sand from berty. Make some laws. Bones to peaches tabs are best. Metal drags aren't good money unless you get lucky. Don't do black drags unless you have 80+ ranged, it's good money. Barrows is good with ancients, you do 4 runs with only monks and 1 ppot, melee brothers can't touch you, look up a guide, but barrows isn't really good money anymore. Tanning hides works but long-term its better to do something that gives xp. Mining rune essence isn't bad, you get like 7k per load with pouches, I imagine it stacks after a while, it's probably even better money than making it in runes for someone under 91 RC. Mining gold can be fun, it's at 500 which is a great for a rock that low level. Buy green d-hide armour in pieces, make it into sets and sell at max(test with 1 set to see if it still works before). Hmm well that's about it, I got no more ideas.
  21. And when we thought you couldn't get any cockier...
  22. Santas look awful, so do masks. RS2 killed them, they used to look so good. Anyway, people who want a santa already have one.
  23. Fishing is not a good idea on f2p. Both woodcutting and mining give better income.
  24. Manta rays and tuna potatos, both heal 22 in one bite. As for ways to get them, just buy them really, getting them yourself is a huge waste of time.
