  1. Old people are typically not good with computers. They aren't good with dvds, digital cameras, or anything that gets a bit more complicated either. I heard that 80% of parents wouldn't be capable of making the vcr/dvd work without the help of their kids. The parent probably thought jagex provided the service to buy money, like cash shops on some other games, and didn't check.
  2. With the whole -ing thing at the end, the name was too long? Who cares?
  3. Obviously jagex isn't going to choose an idiot, so dont worry.
  4. Two words: Email spoofing Basically, there are servers on interent from which you can send emails to people and make it appear as if it comes from ANY address you'd want. It would become really easy to steal accounts if people weren't suspicious about their emails.
  5. Statistically, Opera is the best free browser out there. You seem to have problems with your computer in general, even a perfect browser won't save you from those.
  6. You want to make profit or just have fun with a hammer? I'm thinking get mining up, if you want to actually make any money.
  7. I figured that much but I don't think they're withholding them because of graphic limits. I think they're just trying to stretch the sauce for as long as they can. Hmm, in how many seasons do you think general o'neil will finally passionfully make out *for real* with carter? Same principle, the audience would have something less to look foward to. Meanwhile they just add filler stuff. Filler quests, filler cities, filler equipment. Look at you, feeding all these poor people with false hope ;__;
  8. I don't think those are the new graphics, if you look at the screenie in the dev diary you can see the faces look differents, and compare the ranger boot on this guy and the one on the new graphics screenie and they are very different.
  9. So.. it's a map or it's some text? Because you just said the map said to you where to look. The map talks?
  10. Lol, it's funny how the small f2ps always seem to think that there is a conspiracy and that members can actually trade stuff with f2ps.
  11. More killing and less talking soldier :P
  12. Use it on an expensive skill, you save money in the long run. Herblore/prayer/construction etc.
  13. I don't think there's anything there. The two haflves were always screwed up, and for some reason they decided to fix it. But even if the dragon kiteshield comes out, it will probably be some outrageously impossible item to get like the d full helm.
  14. Lol, but it's a good thing. If all those guys didn't get female avatars we wouldn't get the illusion that there are girls playing the game. That would be depressing.
  15. So what's the debate? Do you think they are: A) Stupid or B) Stupid ? Hmm, such a tough choice... Which one should I pick?
  16. A storyline about the return of zaros would be great. But don't feed that hope too much, we're probably going to get disappointed either way.
  17. Well it can all be solved pretty easily by just not getting offended by the word "noob". What does it even mean anyway? Hi, I hate you? Hi, you are inferior to me? Heh, jerks.
  18. A rant with good spelling and grammar =O But hey, why are you complaining? You got your stuff back despite the utter stupidity that it was to bring 500k worth of stuff in the wild. You should be happy happy.
  19. As we all know, the customer support in RS is not exactly tip top. Every day, the customer support team is flooded by ban appeals, questions and abuse reports. So many that they seemingly dont even bother trying to answer to them correctly any longer. They cant because there are too many. So, why is the system overflowed with all this crap? Lets take a look at the causes 1: The report system It is too easy to access, and too easy to misuse. Notice the If you misuse this form you will be banned? That would be a great idea if Jagex actually applied it. 2: Ban appeals They are unnecessary and do nothing else than waste the CS teams time. If the customer support pays attention to report abuse the first time around, and makes sure the punishment is adequate, theres no need to double check it. ------------------------------- Now here are some of my ideas/solutions: A) Report system limits First, the report system must have requirements, and limits. When there is an obvious rule-breaker, haft the people around him report it. That is not necessary, only 1 report is needed. When a player has been reported by somebody, he cannot be reported again for another 5 minutes. That way, the CS is not flooded by doubles for the same person and offence. Also, each player is allowed 5 reports/week for use whenever during that week. At the end of the week the points are reset (they dont stack). So for instance, you spend most of the week with no problems, but on Friday you get a particularly nasty day and use 4 of your points leaving you with 1 point for the weekend. People are going to be more careful about what they report because they know their points are limited. Keep in mind that the 1 report/person/5 mins will reduce the loss of abuse report points. So if for instance you try to report somebody, a message pops up saying he has already been reported within the next 5 mins. So your mind is at peace he has been reported, and you havent wasted one of your points. B) Report system requirements Not everyone should be allowed to use the abuse report system until they have PROVEN to the community that they are responsible enough to use it properly. What I propose is a small pseudo-quest in which players are educated about how to use the report system properly, the points system, and so on. You CANNOT skip any dialogue during the quest; it stays there for a few seconds until the skip button appears. And at the end of the quest there is a quiz with A/B/C/D questions to make sure the player was listening properly. The right answer is a different letter every time, so no quest guides to walk you out of it. Once the quest is done, players can use the report system. The quest will have requirements: you will need to meet any ONE of those requirements. -50 combat -> For meleers -xx hours of gameplay -> For people who dont do activities that make you gain much exp (mini-games/chatting/etc) -xxx total level -> For lvl 3 skillers and the likes -xx quest points -> Questers The requirements are easy to meet, they are just there to separate people who are actually serious about the game and those are not. C) Consequences for misuse There should be consequences for individuals who misuse the report system. So I propose this: Each account will have 5 chances when making a false report abuse. Which means you can screw up 5 times before there are consequences. After the 5 times, you will get a black mark for every additional report you make that is false. The policy should be very strict. If something is off the mark, even an innocent error, it will be punished accordingly, 5 chances are plenty enough. D) No more interpretations The rule about offensive language needs to be stricter. Anything can be perceived as offensive. And a lot of people get innocently banned or black marked for stupid things that dont actual offend anybody. The report will be considered invalid unless there are solid, clear, and precise reasons as to why something is offensive. If somebody makes racist, sexist, or highly offensive statements: report. If somebody calls you a poop or argues with you, just deal with it. Jagex shouldnt encourage reports from whiny idiots any longer. ------------------------------- Now, all of this should help unclog a lot of the crap that floods the CS, so that they may actually provide some real service to us. I know this might look like a suggestion but thats not my point, I want an actual discussion about it. This isnt a rigid idea of what I think should happen, all of this is simply common sense, and I want to hear your ideas too. Are you happy with the current report system weve got? Are you happy with the current customer support? How do you think Jagex could improve their system?
  20. Yeah, but that would be paradoxal :P People riot because they care about the game. And they care too much to log out and never return. But even if people would quit in massive amounts, I don't think jagex would change anything at all. The graphics update is going to get them some replacements.
  21. QFT. Understandable, since you're unranked. If you can't even try the fruits of summoning (or hell, even see some pictures of what familiars can do for people [monster hunting for instance]) you shouldn't make a comment like that  Don't make stupid comments. Everyone knows summoning is useful, that's not what the thread is about. Some people could live without summoning, because they just don't like it.
  22. Without cooking how will you get food  We won't, we'll just die of old age. But hey, we still got sara brews.
  23. Most PC clans have their own forums, the serious ones anyway. There's nothing suspicious about them asking you to sign up on their website, that's just how it works. Just use common sense though. Sign up for a clan that has a reputation and use a different password than for your Rs accounts.
  24. Partyhats 99% rarity 1% looks Santas 50% rare 50% looks Halloween masks 80% rarity 20% looks
  25. Yeah, but the truth my lovely "dude" is that abyssal whip was using it as an argument against dual wielding. "Zomg 2x whips, that's overpowered! Thus dual wielding is bad" Any idea can be broken if that's what your looking for. Obviously 2x whips is not going to happen.
