Crying about your life doesn't make you forget about it, it's still there. Doing things that take your mind off your troubles are essentially magical, as they have the ability to temporarily erase and numb the nuisances of reality. Crying releases endorphins which then make you feel better. And when your mind is at its normal state again due to the endorphins, then it is the good time to analyse and figure out something to FIX the problem. You can't escape it forever.

Schedule a moment in your day to cry about your life, then when you feel better figure out something to fix your problem. And then play Rs with the time remaining.

Summoning - Pictures + Spoilers + Proof (99% REAL)
highlanders replied to joop's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, I don't really see the point of keeping this thread alive So taht we know what the summoning monsters will look like.. -
I think god is the universe, everything that exists. By example, you have awareness only of your life/thoughts, you're not living other people's lives. Well I believe "god" is the sum of all the lives of all the beings, and the awareness of each and every thing that happens in the universe; galaxies, etc. What I mean is that we are all little parts of god, and that all together, we form what we call god. I don't think god is an individual, he is simply the sum of everything that exists, thus he doesn't have a name, he can't talk to you, don't look for him, he's everywhere, etc. I know it's just a theory, and it's like impossible to prove it, but atleast it doesn't go against logic and doesn't require you to believe in anything invisible. If god is everything you can see, well that's just it, no babbling about hell or heaven or a guy with a beard, end of the story.

Why is RuneScape a 'Game for Nerds'?
highlanders replied to The Observer's topic in General Discussion
It probably has to do with the fact you spend thousands of hours reclusely sitting on a chair watching at a screen. -
Yep.. What really annoys me is how some people literally worship pmods, and then the pmod takes advantage of that to boast.
-
I can't imagine how that must be. It must feel really unfair, like everyone can do something you can't. But, why don't you make a new character? Not being able to chat takes out so much fun out of the game. Starting over can be exciting too, you get to choose a username you like better, you get to live all the quests all over again and remember storylines you forgot, you get to play the game as a low level with the experience of a high level, you can choose to put time and effort in things you didn't before, etc. In one year from now with relatively casual gaming you could be where you are right now, but with a better account, friends, and the ability to talk like everyone else.

Lol :o You put the potion on the cut gem and it becomes an uncut gem!

What would happend if Jagex increase combat level cap?
highlanders replied to Dire_Wolf's topic in General Discussion
What would happen? Umm, the combat level would be higher, that's it really. They'd add some higher monsters, or better armour/weapons to balance it out, Idk. -
When people talk about hacking on Runescape; they mean phising, cracking, or telling somebody their password. No one is actually hacking the Runescape server. And even if somebody was hacking the server, they wouldn't stole an account, they would simply send signals to the server to put partyhats in their bank, this is what people who hacked Jagex in the past have done.

Will future bots be almost impossible to detect?
highlanders replied to ixfd64's topic in General Discussion
I second that. They aren't completely impossible to detect, but pretty much. Of what I've heard, when the system has doubts about a player being a macroer, they spam that macroer with a ton of random events in order to make them log out. Then the macro automatically logs in again, then logs out, and logs in again, and this is how Jagex knows it is a macroer. So we know their system can detect something which can create doubts, but they are still forced to use this simplistic technique to know if they are or not. If their system was good, they would know instantly who is botting, then ban them on the spot. But obviously, since the macros are roaming free all around Runescape without being banned on the spot, their system is not good enough - thus why the bots are pretty much impossible to detect. -

Legal notice: By posting this thread I permit Jagex LTD an unlimited unconditional licence to produce, adapt, modify, and remove any sections of the suggestion at their discression. Whilst out of their area, I am posting under the full Terms and conditions as stated on http://www.runescape.com. All players posting content and suggestions on this thread, are giving me the permission, unless directly stated otherwise to use their input to improve my suggestion, and you are also agreeing to the terms and conditions of Jagex. As DaOnLyJoSh pointed out in this topic in the general forum. Now that the grand exchange is out, we have some sort of official price guide for all items in Runescape. This means it could be possible to use the street price of items as the value used to determine which items are to be kept upon death. The current system is not very logical. It doesn't make sense that you would keep a dragon dagger over a party hat, by example. However, some people made some valid opposition against to use of the GE prices to decide which items would be lost upon death. Such as pking becoming less profitable, because the opponent is allowed to keep their best items. First, it would be useful to know what the intent of Jagex was when they decided of what items would be kept upon death. My suggestion is a little original, it's in-between. I propose that using the GE prices, six of the most valuable items out of your inventory are selected, and then out of these six items, three items are selected randomly, and these are the items that you keep upon death. For example, you have died with an inventory of 10 lobsters, a super set, a fury amulet, a legends cape, and full guthans. Using the GE prices the fury amulet, guthans warspear, guthans helm, guthans platebody, guthans plateskirt and super strength potion will be selected. From there, the system randomly chooses by example: strength potion, guthans platebody, and guthans plateskirt. Using protect item prayer, it remains the same, except you keep four items randomly instead of three, still out of six. This system would be based on both logic and luck. You could still get good loot for pking, aswell as having better chances to keep your best item if you die. People wouldn't start roaming around in the wilderness with partyhats. But if they died, their partyhat wouldn't be considered as total junk either. As pointed at the beginning I give Jagex permission to use this idea, and I hope they do.

The point is that the methods Jagex has decided to use to stop the rulebreakers are hurting everybody. Like qeltar said, they are destroying the cancer by blowing up the patient. As for my part, it's nothing personal. Just gimme the candy and I'll like you Jagex. I'm not picky, I'm just asking you to fix your errors and get more clever ways to stop the rulebreakers - ways that won't piss everybody off. Or just don't do anything, and wait for a better way to do things. We're lucky enough that people are actually complaining about the errors Jagex is making. If nobody complained to keep Jagex on their toes, Jagex would just ruin the game with no resistance whatsoever LOL.

My nearly 100% correct theory. WE set summon prices =D
highlanders replied to Rahila's topic in General Discussion
[sarcasm] I am pretty SURE, that all members of TIP.it community are interested in your childish behavior. [/sarcasm] In fact they probably are. Flame wars always are interesting, makes up for a change from the cold wars. Though I don't plan to go into a flame war, it's pointless, and I wouldn't have much of a competition. TUBA made a really stupid statement earlier, and he got flamed for it. Maybe he'll learn his lesson next time. Though I'm probably not a good example to follow. :P -

Your comebacks are pathetic. That's fine, you won't need them when you'll obey to your superiors' orders. -
Maybe nobody would be talking about conspiracy theories if Jagex hadn't proven themselves to be fond of conspiracies. First, they slyly destroyed staking. Then, they started adding price manipulation in the Grand Exchange. Don't do the "Omgz conspiracies don't exist!" thing, Jagex put it right in your face.

I bet you're that kind of person that always believes and follows authority, no matter how crappy and stupid their decisions are. You'd do well in a military career, try it out. -

Andrew: I got an idea to stop RWT! Paul: Omg, what? Andrew: We should remove staking, remove the wilderness, remove trading, remove dropping, remove deathpiles, and add cute little minigames to make up for it! Paul: *Gasp* You are genius!!!! -
Re-list your items on the Grand Exchange
highlanders replied to Capone_Sabre's topic in General Discussion
It doesn't matter. In Dofus each server has a mini economy with their own prices. in Runescape the prices simply would be global, like one giant server. -
Re-list your items on the Grand Exchange
highlanders replied to Capone_Sabre's topic in General Discussion
I can't believe Jagex managed to screw up something like the GE. Countless mmorpgs have implemented an alike feature with great success. Jagex just had to copy one of those successful methods and everything would have been fine. Like in Dofus, you have an npc auction system. It works like this: they only show one item for each kind of item. Example, there is 5 players selling a tofu's feather price like this: 10, 12, 15, 18, 20. You talk to the npc, you type tofu's feather in the search box, and then you get at the file for the tofu feather, and you see one being sold at 10 kamas. The cheapest is always shown first. You buy it, and the player who was selling it gets the money at the bank. Then, player 2 comes and looks up the tofu feather, the cheapest one is now 12. He closes the window and thinks about it. Meanwhile, another player comes and puts to sale another tofu feather for 10 kamas. Player 2 goes back to the file, sees that now the cheapest tofu's feather is 10 and buys it. A system like this in Runescape would mean that you can overprice an item, but it never sells. If a player by example prices a spinach roll for 100k, but that there is already 10 000 spinach rolls at the normal price, the 100k spinach roll will never even come up on the screen because there will always be cheaper ones. Or, the classical system in which there's a search option, you type the keywords and then you get some results of the item at various prices and then you buy what you want. It could have been that simple... But no, they had to do things their way, and just screw it all up. I'm just so pissed off at Jagex, anybody would have made a better job than them at this. Andrew, not only are you ugly as hell, but you're stupid, so stupid. You really don't deserve any money, from anyone. -
Something enourmous would need to happen for a rollback to take place. And even in that case, it is possible Jagex stores "checkpoint" data of the levels of all players every once in a while, though they're probably too cheap for that. In the case they do, then the rollback would only be that of a certain period of time, not a whole whipe. Though it would be interesting to start all over. Everyone lvl 3 :XD:
