Killing bots (& way to get old wildiness back)
highlanders replied to TeamBloody's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Ok, so you propose that we put combat level caps on activities that bots do. Except at a few spots, which would be used to focus all the problem at the same spot. Then Jagex would dispatch mods to ban all teh botters in these focus spots. Well, I see four problems with this: -Bots can relatively easily bot their way up to 60 combat since they can play 24/7 - Bot owners would not be stupid enough to send their botters to the focus spots, because they would know their botter would get banned there. They would get 60 combat first so that they can use the legitimate spots. - Honest players using the focus spots could get banned by mistake. - Incoherence in roleplay. Level 60 combat require to fish a lobster, why? -
Goldfarmers, Bots, and RWT'ers arent going anywhere...
highlanders replied to ikraz66's topic in General Discussion
I went to check a couple of cheating websites earlier. Most of the people are like: "It's over, looks like Runescape got us and our botting armies. Now let's invent new devious undetectable macros so that we can level up our main accounts without getting spotted". Yep, a lot of gold farmers are going to do this now I think. But atleast it's now 10x better than it was before. Atleast the cheater has advantages only skill-wise. Money-wise, the gold would be a lot more expensive since it's a lot more difficult to get it, so I don't think it would be muchof a problem. I don't really care about a bunch of level 50s who bought their accounts and are probably going to quit after a week anyway. I don't think this trend will catch much because of a few reasons: - People playing already have main accounts - Powerleveling and accounts are expensive and people would probably just prefer leveling the account by themselves - People don't care as much for levels as they do for money But still, Jagex needs better detection systems. I don't want cheaters to run around Runescape macroing on their mains while we are actually working for these levels. -
Money transfer limit based on "character development"?
highlanders replied to EugenyG's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
You've been arguing with a lot of annoying people lately haven't you? I can see from your reaction. Don't worry, I'm not like that. :) I never said you said your idea would fix these problems. I'm just saying they aren't, not that you said they would. I didn't mention the wild or dueling because your post is about the trade system, it's not really related to those two other things. Jagex could use your idea in the game if they don't plan to restore merchanting or manual boss loot sharing, but it would be nice if they did a little something about it :?. If they decided to do something about it, they would need to find a new idea. -
Money transfer limit based on "character development"?
highlanders replied to EugenyG's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
It still kills merchanting, and manual boss loot sharing. Off-Topic: Fight to live free. -
And it's raising really fast too o__O Atleast people are concerned, this is how some changes can be done.
-
You got a lot of stuff that annoys you.. Luckily, there's not much things that annoy me in Runescape. Two things: I would like to have the option to use WASD for movement & I don't like idiots in-game saying things that annoy me, or make me angry.
-
Yep, everyone has those things in Runescape that they like. And I like your post because unlike a lot of people who don't Pk, you don't say things like "Haha I don't care about the wilderness and the Pkers, they deserved it. The update is great because it doesn't change anything for me".
-
Well, a lot of damage is done already. Even if they did a rollback, some players would be lost in the proccess because they dropped their items, don't trust Jagex anymore, or similar reasons. I agree that alot of the people threatening to quit are not going to go through with it. But, on the long term, when the dust settles and people start slowly disliking the game, that's when it's going to hurt. A lot of people are going to stay and wait to see what to do in the following months. And if they feel annoyed overtime with all that has happened, they won't stay. Honestly, I don't know if Runescape will even manage to survive. By the looks of it in the dev. diary on RWT, Jagex was losing a lot of money, and I don't think they are very strong financially right now.

Hate the 10/12/07 update? go to classic
highlanders replied to illusi0n's topic in General Discussion
This is what I like about what is happening right now. People are actually bubbling with new ideas to change things instead of just accepting whatever Jagex throws at them. This is a chance for rebirth and new ideas that people would not have even considered before. I would enjoy playing Rsc with a community again. Rsc is so unattractive to play right now because there's no community, it feels dead and stagnant. It would be pretty cool if Jagex revived Rsc, and gave it a couple of updates to attract more curious players. This would be like paradise for us all veterants. Like you said, very low chances this would happen because of game engine problems and Jagex not wanting to put effort in Rsc since they've already put all their eggs in Rs2. But atleast the idea's out there. Hi from Rsc. Cute little sheeps and glowing gnome robes : -

Very funny and well written :) -
Well, the pures complained that Jagex was making updates that were bad for them. Atleast now they got a spot where they are actually good. Too bad it's at the expense of the wilderness.

It started with a sloopy beggining... but then.. Toucḫ̩̉̉. -
No what I mean is what is the name Lacus has given to her pet? Because it always says "Hamtaro!", and I figured that was its name. Like for Kira and his "Birdy". Like for pokemons; Pikachu goes Pika Pika or Pikachu. But I searched and looks like Hamtaro is some random hamster from another cartoon show, so I figured I had the spelling of the name wrong.

A better solution to the autoer problem?
highlanders replied to 0m3gaknight7's topic in General Discussion
Ok, so if I understand well; you propose that they remove the lastest updates and instead make most of the good gear optained through challenges such as the one for the firecape? Tell me if I'm wrong, I don't really understand what you mean.. -
No more RANDOM EVENTS/PURE ESS needed anymore now?!
highlanders replied to Latinoking's topic in General Discussion
Random events don't stop them.. they bot through it aswell. They have scripts for all random events integrated into their main botting script. You've probably already seen a bot do a random event before. The only thing that can solve this situation is better detection systems from Jagex, and it's not going to be easy.. Well, they said that, but it's all talk if you ask me. If they really could do that, we would have stop seeing a ton of boots hacking down yew trees in f2p. -
It may be bad for us, but think of the tip it crew!
highlanders replied to look_its_rob's topic in General Discussion
The mods are being smooth right now. They could lock tons of stuff, but they know it's useless since new ones will keep popping out, hehe. They'll probably do some sort of massive thread wipe every once in a while. :P -
Random question: What's the name of the pink robot pet of Lacus Cline is Gundam seed?

No more RANDOM EVENTS/PURE ESS needed anymore now?!
highlanders replied to Latinoking's topic in General Discussion
Random events were a way to temporarily slow down the bots. Either way, they were never really useful apart from giving rewards. The bots would bot right through them. The problem is: it's difficult to detect macros. If the macro walks, and clicks the same way a human does, Rs can't detect it. It's when the macro is too perfect that it gets noticed. So we do have a big problem with this still.. -
So how DO you make a large amount of money now?
highlanders replied to ugafan_2009's topic in General Discussion
Before, merchants and stakers could make large amounts of money in a short time, and they were able to buy all sorts of expensive things. But now, if everybody is struggling to make money, the expensive items won't sell at their current price, their price will have to drop to meet the new value of the money, and be accesible to players. This is a good thing for people that did not stake nor merchant before. Read: Keep your gps. In the future, the value of your gp will raise, and you will get more for your money. I'm no expert though, but that's what I think will happen. -

Major RWT site has a new idea for RWT in RS
highlanders replied to R3c0ilz's topic in General Discussion
Wow. Those little guys are clever, and persistent. I don't think this trend will catch much for a couple of reasons. - People don't like giving their password to people they don't know - If the prices are higher, that's a huge turnoff - Some people don't feel like waiting while somebody else is playing on their account. - If the gold farmer bots on your account, you could get banned I see this as a desperate measure gold farmers are ready to take in order to make a little money before they make the transition to another game. -
Don't forget to feed plushie everyday

You don't. Just wait, Jagex will fix it eventually. Meanwhile, I suggest you go to your local Runescape pub with your friends and roleplay a drunk party. It's fun, it's collective, it's teamwork. :P
