No, it is a belief, because you cannot prove it. For the sake of shutting you up, I will concede to your point. You STILL provide no reason to believe in a god, nor any evidence. Belief in a god is not beneficial; no, it is the reverse. "Belief" that there are numbers is not harming anyone, and amounts can be REPRESENTED by numbers. @Iamdan I mean like a good reason.

And you still can't prove that 2+1=3 without axiom Z, that 1 does not equal 0. Your entire system of science and math cannot be proven without a few simple beliefs. It's not a belief, it's an interpretation of amounts. Still, there's no reason to believe in a god.

I'm not talking about numbers, numbers. I'm talking about amounts. But what's the point anyway? It demonstrates nothing to say that numbers exist only in our minds. There is absolutely NO REASON to believe in a god, much less the Judeo-Christian god, and you can't give me a reason; none exists. (post directed at sees_all1)

What's the damn point? There are amounts of things, thus there are numbers. The universe has a limited amount of particles in it, which can be counted using numbers (not in practice of course, but you know what I mean).

Hold up two fingers. Now hold up one more finger. Now you're holding up 3 fingers. There's your damn proof. You still can't provide the existence of YOUR god, let alone the existence of the hundreds of thousands of gods that exist and have existed. 2 doesn't exist and 1 doesn't exist. Therefore you have no proof that 3 is the sum of 2 and 1. Don't be a troll. Are you telling me that I'm not holding up three fingers if all but my thumb and little finger aren't being held up? If so, you belong in a mental institution.

You know what? You can take that </sarcasm> tag out of there. What kind of context could you possibly give to justify killing 42 children because they called Elishah bald? (Kings 2:34-24) The Leviticus laws are God's eternal laws, reflective of his unchanging self. If you're going to look at Christianity, you can't disregard these passages. I do love how you compare anti-theists to religious extremists. When an Islamic radical threatens death (or in many cases, actually goes through with the death threats) you go, "Well, they're religious extremists. But their beliefs must still be respected!" When an atheist points out the flaws, fallacies and moral [cabbage] in religion, everyone goes, "Oh my! Don't be so mean! Respect everyone's beliefs equally; don't be so EXTREMIST and AGGRESSIVE!" Seriously, [bleep] everyone who has that mindset. Hold up two fingers. Now hold up one more finger. Now you're holding up 3 fingers. There's your damn proof. You still can't provide the existence of YOUR god, let alone the existence of the hundreds of thousands of gods that exist and have existed.

wat You could accept the teachings of Christ (Or broader, the tenets of a religion) without accepting the belief behind it. You probably also have atheists/agnostics that are part of a religious group as well, in the same way. It isn't an all-or-nothing issue. Reasons may include the sense of community or the fact that even without faith the religion still offers a philosophy. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them? While you're thinking about that one, I have another problem. I would like to sell my sister into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her? She's not the best with manners, but you could train her. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness - Lev.15:19- 24. The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense. Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Samoans, but not Maoris. Can you clarify? Why can't I own a Maori? I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I call the police? A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear contact lenses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here? Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die? I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves? Can the Brisbane Lions? My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? - Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14) I agree, let's all follow the teachings of Christ! They are moral and just! After all, Jesus and the Old Testament god are one and the same. Trinity, remember?

wat "The Bible should be one sheet of paper, and on that sheet of paper it should say: "Try not to be a [bleep]."" - Jim Jeffries The burden of proof is on the religious to provide evidence for a creator-god. The only reason most religious people can come up with for believing in a higher power is, "It seems nice." But just because an idea seems nice doesn't make it at all true. "What's the point of life if there's no god?" There isn't one. All meaning is man-made; life is a blank canvas on which to paint our own meaning. I'm Atheist, and I'd probably go so far as to call myself anti-theist. I care about the truth, not because it's comforting or the idea seems nice, but because it's the truth. Because it's real. And may I also assert this: No-one really believes that there is a god. That's right, no-one. If you really believed that there is an eternal heaven waiting for you after you died, you would do everything in your power to not sin, and to follow all of the Old Testament laws. But, I see nobody doing those things today. Christians often say that the Old Testament laws no longer apply, because of Jesus' death. May I provide evidence to the contrary: "It is easier for Heaven and Earth to pass away than for the smallest part of the letter of the law to become invalid." (Luke 16:17 NAB). The reason you don't waste your life on living according to the vicious OT laws is that deep down, you know this is the only life you're going to get.
  9. That's not that very impressive imo... Fighting ten people who are all ~20 combat levels below you and aren't healing doesn't seem very difficult :P I don't post videos to make myself look impressive. I was just clan warring like I do, and just thought I'd record one of the fights. I know-- the person in the video is somebody else, right? Eh? No, it's me.

  11. It drops 4 wolf bones (I buried one). EVERYONE who attacks it gets the drop.
  12. Good? Bad? I'm not going outside until I get someone's opinion.
  13. anyone read Latin? "Life is short, it will end in a short time, Death comes quickly and respects no one, Death annihilates all and has pity on no one."
  14. The four gods combined their powers to banish Zaros, right? Well, where else are the four gods closer to each other than in the God Wars Dungeon? Just a thought.
  15. I posted these two before but I forgot to ask to index them, so could you please replace both indexed photos with these two, please? 8-)
  16. You must know some pretty feminine guys, then.
  17. This account is close to 7 years, but with 21 mutes. FML.
  18. Non-venemous spiders that don't bite. Hundreds of them, crawling all over and into your immobile body as you lie there unable to do anything. Since they don't bite and they can't poison you, you have to swallow some and let them suffocate you. Fill your lungs with spiders, or close your mouth and try not to let any spiders into your nasal stream and starve yourself to death. If you let a spider into your nose, you'll begin coughing and you'll likely inhale some spiders.
  19. Oh wow, you scared me for a second. I had to quick check to make sure they hadn't stolen mine as well. If they had, I would have RAGED! lol. Only happened to people who were in one of the two servers that crashed when they crashed. Their servers back up data every 15 minutes, so if it crashes, it rolls back to the last restore point. So that might be why it said my account was logged in when I tried entering a world yesterday. I hadn't done anything other then stand around so I didn't lose anything thankfully. :P Hey, that happened to me too! Now everything makes sense.
  20. Hai me. :-# I can finish most of my projects within 2-3 hours though, even when it's last minute. And the end product still looks really neat :D Though that may be because my high school is very, very easy compared to many others... Welcome to my B+ level assignments started and completed in a single night: https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=explorer&chrome=true&srcid=0B7YuFXBWPH8bMWUwMzQwMDQtZTQxMC00ZDRlLWFlZTUtNWJkYjM3MDY5YTMx&hl=en And this one actually fell under the word requirement, but I still passed: https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=explorer&chrome=true&srcid=0B7YuFXBWPH8bMGI3ZDkwOGMtMmQ4NS00MWM2LWIyZGYtNWY1ODk2OTE5Y2Jm&hl=en I blame that on the fact that I had another legal studies assignment to do that night (this one was a lot shorter though): https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=explorer&chrome=true&srcid=0B7YuFXBWPH8bOWM0OWI0NDktYjYxMC00NWRkLWJkOGMtYTE1NzYxMWQzYzk0&hl=en
  21. Alright, let's see what we've got here.... First shot - I know what you were trying to capture. The sun through shady leaves, it does indeed look good to the human eye. A lot of why that looks good to use, however, is because of two factors. Firstly, the distance between our eyes and our greater ability for depth perception. And secondly, movement. This kind of picture is just something you cannot capture in a still image. It's not really your fault it didn't turn out great, but just remember next time that this kind of image just doesn't work. Composition-wise, though, at a glance I couldn't tell where the focus was. The whole damn image is green; the foreground blends too much with the background and it becomes very chaotic. Second shot - Tracks aren't really that interesting, brah. Your focal point is too low. Use the golden rectangle with images that have a horizon. Third shot - The first impression I get is that this looks like a still from a movie. The split toning and aspect ratio really do give this image a 'cinematic' look. As far as the focal point goes, you got the composition pretty much spot on. However, the sharp transition from dark to light in the left side of the image is a little distracting. I find my eye being drawn to that area, and it doesn't even have anything to look at. Fourth shot - Probably my favourite of the lot. I find the colours are a little dull though. I find myself referring back to the Fibonacci Spiral again here: Your focus point should rest close to the end of the swirl in a photo like this. Alternatively, the rule of thirds can apply too. I do like the overall mood of the image though. It probably would have looked a little better should the photo have been taken from a slightly higher perspective. This photo probably would also benefit from a bit of HDR. Fifth shot - C-c-c-contrast! Waaay too much contrast. Can't see a bloody thing in the sky, and the trees are so dark Ron Weasley could be sitting in one of them and I wouldn't notice. Don't be afraid to use HDR if you're not going to over-do it. You could use a gradient ND filter or alternatively shoot RAW and use the gradient tool to fix up the sky and/or foreground. Example of mine, done in Lightroom: (It's by no means a good photo; I'm just clearly too lazy to go anywhere other than my veranda to take a photo)
  22. My closeted romantic persona. I may not look it to my friends, but I really enjoy reading, watching and sometimes even writing romance. I see beauty in absolutely everything, and I can't imagine going through life without that aspect. Patience. I have an uncanny ability to sit around and do absolutely nothing for hours and hours. While I realise life is short, it's not that short. My understanding of the world. Freedom isn't free, there is no god, and life is short and finite. The knowledge of humanity's origins, the fact that we are all made of star dust, really helps me to appreciate this world. There is nothing I cannot find fascinating and interesting. When I look up at the sky, I no longer see the sky. Instead, I see the vastness of space, and our Earth suspended in it. I realise that I am standing on a rock which is spinning through a cloud of stars. This list of three things took quite a while to think up. But yeah, I believe these three are the things which help me live life as I do now.
