  1. Well everyone else has pretty much given out their opinions and ideas on what you should use, but I figure I will give my input as well. Through personal experience I have found that I love my Sara Sword more than I have any other weapon (maybe whip when I first got it) It is a relatively new weapon which adds a certain appeal to it. For me it is far more accurate than a dragon scimmy. I gave up str training at 80 due to the fact that I hit so many zeros with the scimmy it would frustrate me to the point of leaving the game for a week or two. If you don't mind watching the price of your item fall or rise then I'd say go along and get a SS. You would lose what 3m MAX on it unless the price bombed in some ridiculous way. Also, through your training I am sure you would make much more than 3m from use of the SS if you are using slayer. (Which pretty much pays for the cost of the sword, should you resell it, you would be taking no loss on it) ---- As for the DFS and rune defender debate. I have no personal experience with a DFS, but I do find myself using my defender on many if not all of the tasks that I use my whip. So if you do go with the scimmy, just use your defender and guthans/summons to heal the 30 or so hp that you probably may not have lost with the superior def bonus' of the DFS.
  2. Are you referring to the [bleep]e traps on the way to the chinning spots? He needs to slow down and watch where he is walking. Also, I do not remember exactly but if you run over the traps they shouldn't hit you unless you walk over them or stop on them. Just tell him to slow his run down and manually go past the traps and see if that works.. There is only one set of [bleep]e traps prior to the first chinning spot so it is not as though he should lose a ton of, if any, hp to get into a chinning spot.
  3. Money efficient, making yew longs. you make back what you spend, at least you did a couple months ago. Check current prices. Sell the bows, don't alch them. World 132 Yanille bank, that's the fletching guild and where everyone buys all their Yew longs. Easier to sell there than on G.E. Fastest is probably making darts of some type adding feathers to the dart tips. It may have been bolts though I am not sure. But I heard something ridiculous like 300k an hour or 1m an hour but its expensive. Maybe it was 1m an hour with dragon bolts... or was it dragon darts... I am unsure but it was something to do with bolts or darts.
  4. Mind pointing me in the direction of a guide or possibly just giving me the way to do it? Do I alch them or resell the finished braclets?
  5. Well quite simply I was curious as to the loss I would take if I got 80 crafting using green d hides. After crafting the hides what would the total loss be if I: Sold the bodies or Bought nats and Alched the bodies What about if I bought tanned hides and then sold the bodies or alched the bodies? I cannot do the calcs for myself currently but would be interested if anyone already had them done or at least a formula and I will plug in the current numbers when I get home.

I would say that the minimum is if you hit a zero and it goes up from there. I believe I heard that somewhere but cannot give you a 100% sure on that.
  7. The mage trees near Llyeta are a good idea, I cut 3k mage logs there and the most people I have ever seen at once was 3 including myself. Usually the people who log in and out are courteous enough to log out if they come last and there are already 3 people there. Sometimes you get buttheads who don't but a simple world hop can result in you never seeing them again in your RS life. Other than that, Mage trees next to the Mage Training Arena wouldn't be to bad, I would believe, I have never cut there recently or personally for that matter so I am unsure as to whether they gained or lost popularity. Whenever I do Yews I try to cut at Seers or near Catherby OFF peak ours of course. I can't think of a good place for Yews during peaks but I do hear the Gnome Stronghold is decent, not sure of crowding or not but I hear it works. ----- BTW you do make a lot of topics, but as long as they do not restate each other or ask a question that is on the first page of H&A. I have no problems answering to the best of my knowledge and ability. P.S... good luck woodcutting.
  8. Firstly Its smoking kills, not hills, just to point that out. Secondly, if you are looking for fast exp than stick with experiments I got 80 att, str and def from 70 att and str and 76 defence in about a week and a half. It should take you 2 weeks max if you wear good str bonus gear + use att and str pots on experiments to maximize your exp/hour. If you go the slayer route expect it to take 3-5 weeks depending on how much you play and whether you get good melee exp tasks or not. As for range training, you can do the caged ogre thing, but to be honest they are usually extremely crowded. If you just did that at experiments too it would probably take you 2 to 2 and a half weeks for 70 which isn't to bad and probably faster than it would of taken you with Caged Ogres. Use bronze knives to train your ranged they are pretty much the best weapon to be using for range training on low def monsters.
  9. Personally I would say buy it now.. no worries on losing a couple mil on the price as hopefully it will help you generate more money through slayer. I have accumulated about 3-4m since I bought my guthans when it was either 7m or 9m (I bought and sold guthan sets so many times I forget, I use to merchant barrows armors prior to G.E.) It is a good investment and though once you get 68 summoning it may become obsolete it still has its purposes. When I have questions like this I usually avoid the possibility of losing money on a price drop and worry more about what I can use it for to turn a profit in my favor.
  10. Kent is it possible to get it with that 7m?
  11. Anything you can safespot I would say use void, other than that use Armadyl. I am a firm believer in the versatility of void, but if you don't mind taking a loss on the Arma armor in the process of getting those range levels then go with that for anything you are unable to safe spot. I say loss because I hear that Arma is on a downward spiral at the moment.
  12. I was wondering what are the best routes to go for summoning from levels 54-68. What is the best to make? I have 7m that I do not mind parting with but I have 57m total so I do believe that money will be no object here. (As I cannot see it cost me 57m for 68 summoning, however I would like to only spend 7m I like even numbers so going under 50m would mess with my slight case of OCD) Note this: I have read numerous Summoning guides, including Kent's extensive guide. However I cannot seem to find good training methods prior to 68 summoning in his guide. Maybe I am reading it wrong, if so point it out. I will be trading in all pouches for shards, I do not care how much they resell for or whatever their uses may be. I will more than likely keep any t-bird pouches but that is the only useful summon I can see making from 54-68. I will not use my blue charms at all and greens are at the bottom of my list to use, so please only suggest green charm pouches if they give ample exp (meaning more than the crimson or gold pouches able to be made at whatever level) and again I will NOT be using my blues. (Saving them for later higher leveled titans) Another thing I would really not prefer to make 1200 terrorbird pouches (1200 just being a random high number) especially not if there is a crimson pouch that is more worth it.
  13. Umm, well we can go very basic here in saying that Yaks (fremmy Isles quest required), Experiments (Creature of Fenkenstrain quest Required) and Rock Crabs (no quest required) are usually the #1 place to train and even training for 99 defence I spent a majority of my time at experiments. If you are going to train there look to bring your best STR bonus gear. Defence is not necessary in those places. Also bring Super att/str pots or Combat pots to maximize your exp/hour. Rock Crabs are usually very crowded. Yaks are not to crowded off peak times but usually its difficult to find a world when peak hours hit. Experiments are the least crowded of the 3 but more spread out (not really an issue though). The only time you should be banking is to get more pots. Also for the 2 that require quests you do not need to finish the quests just to do them up to a certain point. ---- Once you hit 70 defence you can also buy some guthans and camp at other places such as Lighthouse Daggs (they are under the lighthouse) Ankous (in SoS) and Firegiants (waterfall or brimhaven) to name a few. A few other places people enjoy training, but are for lower levels, are Hill Giants (west of GE, mostly a F2P place but I am sure its empty on members) Moss Giants (North of Ardy or at the end of Varrock sewers) umm that's really all I can think of for now. Maybe like caged Ogres but just going in the cage and meleeing. I don't know about that one though. ---- If you are not a camping kind of person then you could try Slayer which is usually the best route to go, not for fast effecting exp training just better for all around training while gaining a slight profit as well. Your equipment for slayer is pretty much whatever your best stuff is, that you are WILLING to lose. Don't go into a task scared, if you are just bring a one click teleport, but also don't go into a task thinking your god either. Whether it be full rune or full bandos.
  14. I am far from knowledgeable in the PvP aspect of the game, however if you are looking to stay good at the PKing aspect then you should probably stay 70 defence. Unless you are going to max out your combats before doing PvP I would save defence for last. Maybe go with 90+ str? That seems to work out a lot for PKers.
  15. Warriors, Rangers and whatever else is attacking a Zammy NPC in the main area. Thats the way I do it and it usually doesn't take to long.
  16. I prefer the Sara Sword but that may just be me and a few others I know. EDIT: Apologies, I overlooked the budget aspect in the original post. 3.6m Budget then the Zammy Spear is your new best friend for Waterfiends. Easily the best weapon for you, nothing else really would compare.
  17. I am going to be quite honest with you, it is also a bit blunt, but through my eyes and experiences both here (on forums) and in-game the chances of you completing a 99 goal that you ask others to suggest on is very slim. You have already said that you enjoy fishing go along with that. I am 86 fishing (maybe 84, can't remmeber or check on my phone) and I enjoy it a little bit, its easy to do and get into. I personally enjoy woodcutting more which is why my woodcutting is 94. My highest level is 99 and it is defence (my favorite stat) second highest is 98 which is fletching. third is 95 which is hitpoints. Fifth and fourth highest is 94 attack and woodcutting. I have an okay amount of 90+ stats so you can accept my opinion through experience.
  18. Well firstly let me say that lending a BGS for money.. Definatly not the best source of income in the world. Also in the time it takes you to make all the junk for your "goal money total" you probably could of doubled or evn tripled your 21m. Depending on your hourly income, luck etc etc. And of course how much your goal total would be with lending out your BGS for money. But if that is your absolute want right now... maple longs (u) are among the top junk to use.
  19. Here you go: Current Prayer Level = 53 Goal Prayer Level = 70 Total D bones needed = 2,381 (If used on a Gilded alter WITH both burners lit) Prices: D bones (As of August 31st, 2008) Minimum price: 1,957 Market price: 2,060 Maximum price: 2,163 Cost if bought at: Min- 2,381 * 1,957= 4,659,617 Med- 2,381 * 2,060= 4,904,860 Max- 2,381 * 2,163= 5,150,103 ------- There ya go. 21m is plenty enough.
  20. Save it and just keep piling up on top of it. Personally the slayer + herb farming is what I do. I can't tell you how nice it is ro have no monetary worries (or limits) in RS for me right now. I can buy whatever I want whenever I want and enjoy myself. Keep that money stack until you absolutly need something.
  21. Personally I haven't touched a d scimmy in a year and a half since I stopped str training at 80 str. Now that my def is maxed and att is 94 I decided to do str training and I personally prefer a Sara Sword for str training. I find the d scimmy to be way to inaccurate and not fun to str train with. Now I only recommend a SS for anyone looking to train str. It is so much more accurate (for me at least) definatly the way to go.
  22. Personally I have grown to hate the d scimmy for the rest of my time in RS. It, among other reasons, is why my str level is only 84 at 123 combat.. I'm not a huge fan. However ever since buying a sara sword I have found more fun in my training my hits are more accurate and that's where my enjoyment with the weapon comes. In short I would say go with the sara sword if u got the money, cost is not an issue for me thsta why I'm biased towards the sara sword
  23. Firstly you won't make a "ton of money" cannoning ice trolls. In fact you'd be lucky to break even with the current price of granite shields. It also depends on your drop luck and melee stats. Lower stats = slower kills which in turn means you are eating more food, using more pots and cannonballs and running up the cost to do it. Personally I wouldn't bother cannoning trolls on or off task. The exp is good (I will give it that, I've been there before and know the rates from experience) I would suggest doing your troll tasks at Death Plateau and use a games necklace to tele to the games room and bank. Its faster than bankin in Keldagrim and killing those trolls near "eldagrim entrance.
  24. What about an Obby Sword + Zerker Necklace combo with Full Void Melee?? or is that like Void melee + Salve Ammy?
