Um, well, I can type fast, up to 55 words a minute if I put my mind to it. However I never took a program, and don't use home keys, it soo slow! Use index fingers for all letters between E and U, middle for WSX, IJN, and thumb for space bar. Though again... I don't reccommend that, just keep typing, definitely use the thumb for space but otherwise I suggest just developing your own technique.

It all comes down to whether they are used properly. My dog Tess gets seriously scared, and she LOVES ME! Yeah, it's true, now, when she's scared she comes to ME instead of mum or dad! (May be because my room's the quietest and warmest... but hey she follows me around all the time! It must be the great influence Tipit is having on me... I like fireworks, I think they're ok. If people get hurt because they're using them themselves, they have only themselves to blame. Though aren't there rules about age for buying fireworks? My english teacher is really funny, he's always telling us funny stories. On Wednesday he shared with us another snippet of his childhood... Well basically, he went around with a gang (this was 50-60 years ago, he quite old lol) and he now says it's a miracle no-one ever got killed. And in His Day, little kids could buy these things called 'Bangers' which were basically small fireworks, a mix between sparklers and smaller rockets. One of them got their dad to make a firework holder, it had a wide base at the bottom, long, hollow, upright tube, and a platform surrounding the top of the tube which you could put stuff on. So one day Mr whats-his-name decided to put this firework holder on his shoulder, using the platform as a face guard so he couldn't see where he was going... and they would run up the streets with fireworks coming out of their faces. That made us all laugh... but yeah we all learnt a lesson when he showed us the scars.

Hm, hard choice. I like to be vegetarian as often as possible, so I'd say um, mushroom and leek... =P~ =P~ =P~ =P~ But to be honest, any pie with not much sauce, a golden exterior, and lots of yummy vegetables (lol) inside has to win...

It's bad. You've got a good idea there, the traditionality of the peaceful Druids and one in particular wanting to break away. If you want you can PM it to me and I will do spelling and grammar for you. It needs less information in the first paragraph and better grammar, same for second. They lack description and flow. Try to take things slower, rather than cramming everything about the Druids into the first paragraph.

Good on ya, man! Keep at it. It just needs persistent and determination. (Not that I know the first thing about cross country running...) I'm getting fitter too! I don't snack mid morning or mid afternoon anymore, meals, milk and water only... plus fruit. I'm not exactly dieting but feeling alot healthier definitely! There's alot of sport at my school, I'm doing 6 hours a week of badminton, cycling 5 miles every day, 3 hours netball, 1 of running and stretching (splits and the like.) So... yeah, don't give up. My brother (tokytoky3333) did it, but he wasn't that good lol.

When you say you sit down during the pledge - it's not going to do you any good. If I say you doing that I'd think you were against liberty and justice. Try a bit harder. Different approach, maybe? Or if you really care stop blaming the police and go find your own dang evidence before complaining. That might really help.

I believe in lust at first sight. You can instantly want someone, but it takes a long time to realise that you want to spend the rest of your life with someone, which is what love is IMO. Ha, another question. What's the difference between love and lust? I think love is caring for someone, caring about how they feel, what is happening to them, when they're alright. I tend to think lust is more physical.

Ah, but why is that? Is that because you trust her? She loves you? She has a nice personality and is easy to be friendly to and love? She does most of the cooking and half the chores? Or because she created you and gave you life? I don't believe you can ever tell anyone you love them without knowing why. And never assume you love someone until you get to know them, either.
-
No, it is between 2 people. Any 2 people. @Striker - when I say love, I don't necessarily mean sexual love, because a woman can love a woman. I know I certainly love my closest friends. I would probably die for one or two... even if I'm not 'attracted' to them. Still, it depends on who they are. Thankyou and that's ok, all opinions are welcome. I'm merely stating that, as yet I haven't met her 'boyfriend' I have absolutely no right to judge them in the first place. But would you really consider 9 weeks in separate classes and going out together a couple of times a sufficient time to get to know someone to say 'I love you' in a sexual way? (Not that they're planning on making out or anything... but let's stay on topic. :uhh: ) I could understand if she said the same way she says to me, as a close friend who she cares deeply for. So that brings up yet another question; how long do you think it takes to get to know someone properly? Do you believe in love at first sight? I don't. I used to, though. :XD:

I used to have a jigsaw puzzle shaped like the globe. God that was hard... cos it was all blue, brown and green... #-o :( But I did it!!!!!

My first question... Do we love our families for who they are? Or what they do for us? Or because they are just there - when we need them? That sounds kinda hard to explain, so I will give an example. Hm ok. Imagine your mum is actually your friends mum, and your friends mum is actually your mum. (Personality swap...) Would you love your new mum, because she's a nice person and society teaches us to love our mums? Or because she is the helpful one, who puts the washing on and makes supper 4 times a week? Or would you love your friend's mum, because she has a nice personality? Would you tell her you love her every day and hug and kiss her? I think not. My second question... I think society is really, really starting to undermine the words 'I love you.' It's as if it doesn't have a meaning anymore. For Instance, my friend (who's name I will not reveal...lol) started secondary school and has started 'going out' with since the beginning of term (6-7 weeks and 2 half-term weeks ago) with someone in her year. She says 'I love you' to him. She's known him less than 3 months, and they're in separate classes. She's gone out with him about three times, but she says she loves him. Sorry I just don't think it's enough time to really know someone and she doesn't seem sincere. It's the same thing with crushes... have a crush on someone because they're pretty, without really getting to know them. My third question... How long do you think it takes to get to know someone properly? Do you believe in love at first sight? I don't. You can read it in books, though, and in films, and on the TV... 'and I knew at once you were the one for me!!! I love you! I love you! I love you! Don't leave me!!!!! It was love at first sight!!! You're so beautiful!' And so on... but that probably came out slightly sarcastic. (Not that it was meant to.... obviously... : ) Can you love someone, then hate them, get to know them better? Is it all first impressions? So what is love, in our society, because it doesn't seem to be what I used to call 'true love'... not that I actually believed in true love as a concept... but nevermind. Your thoughts please, on love in general? What does ' I love you' mean to you?

And of course I just HAD to do this... Kinda funny actually, especially the bits I've highlighted. Instead of ruining our lives, you mean?

The computer me and my mum use (but my mum hardly ever uses excepts for psychiatric reports and emails etc), my brother's laptop, (which he paid for himself) and my dad's music studio equipment. Not really a personal computer but it just has all the software stuff on it.

What makes me happy is when people spread joy like this. :3> 'The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place' Quote from another thread... WELL. I'm happy because I just beat my dad at badminton. I'm happy because I found a dancing partner, and we had pasta for supper, and I'm got a saxophone lesson tomorrow, and my granny was here this weekend. I've done all my homework (to a just-reasonable standard, might I add). My brother is in a good mood for once, the internet is working, just got an email from my buddy Julia, my cough is getting better, I'm healthy and cheerful. But daylight savings makes me grumpy. It's like the day is over so quickly. :(

Any Christians - Need Help Regarding Christmas Trees
issy2 replied to Greatsilverwyrm's topic in Off-Topic
I'm sure God won't mind if it brightens up your home and gives you happiness. I think it'll be ok, but yes, Christmas trees were based on paganism, according to Wiki... Anyway I searched on Wiki and found this - A Christmas tree is one of the most popular traditions associated with the celebration of Christmas. It is normally an evergreen coniferous tree that is brought into a home or used in the open, and is decorated with Christmas lights and colourful ornaments during the days around Christmas. The Christmas tree is often explained as a Christianization of the ancient pagan idea that the evergreen tree represents a celebration of the renewal of life. In Roman mosaics from what is today Tunisia, showing the mythic triumphant return from India of the Greek god of wine and male fertility, Dionysus (dubbed by some modern scholars as a life-death-rebirth deity), the god carries a tapering coniferous tree. Medieval legends, nevertheless, tended to concentrate more on the miraculous "flowering" of trees at Christmas time. A branch of flowering Glastonbury thorn is still sent annually for the Queen's Christmas table in the United Kingdom. Hope that helps! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas_trees#History -

Ban all. It's not as if they contribute to society.
