Doesn't the remake somewhat closely match the book? Been so long since I read, but I know the old movie was very different ending than the book.

  5. Homer: We're here, we're queer, we don't want any more bears! Lenny: Hey, that's a pretty catchy chant. Where did you hear it? Homer: Oh, I heard it at the mustache parade they have every year.
  6. ROFL...I think you're about 25 years late on being bothered by this. It became popular and overused in the early 80's. Plus, as much as it may pain you to hear...it is now often used to make fun of metalheads (mainly, old big hair, butt-rock-style metal).

I see a pattern in Indy's posts...most mention a hot girl...LOL Not that I disagree with any of your assesments so far :) Personally, I like the song Girlfriend and the vid...she's probably about the only pop I'll listen to
  8. I don't know a whole lot about Fibromyalgia, but I do know one of the symptoms is severe fatigue. On top of that, another symptom is sleeping disorder (not trouble falling asleep, but trouble staying in deep sleep cycles, because of bursts of brain activity). Between running a business and a family, I'm sure she's tired as hell (heck, that's tiring for someone without a chronic disease). If you are concerned (and it sounds like you sincerly are), do what you can to help alleviate some of her workload (either helping out at their business if possible or simply around the house). Also, talk to her about it...express your concerns and ask what you can do to help. If nothing else, I'm sure she'll be touched by your concern and desire to help, which in itself may be helpful simply by reminding her that someone cares.
  9. I'm currently re-reading for 3rd time (haven't read 11 yet, but heard it is really good). I feel guilty about being sad that the series is unfinished more so than him dying, but I guess that's somewhat natural, since I didn't personally know him.
  10. Rather than make a new topic, I decided to report this here... http://www.boingboing.net/2007/09/16/ri ... ordan.html As anyone familiar with the series knows, he began it almost 20 years ago, and was working on the final book (#12 - to be named 'A Memory of Light'). Apparenty, he did share the main plot details with close family members whom plan to finish the final book, but I have doubts as to whether it will be fulfilling for the dedicated fans of the series. RIP The Dragon
  11. ^ Catholic? hehe :)
  12. He's one funny mofo...I think my fav is 'Caught me'
  13. I still play some GBC games on my Advance. If I had an NES I think I'd still play it
  14. The only one I've seen by him is Devil's Rejects (which I thought was awesome). Never saw House of 10,000 Corpses, but heard it was really good (in a very disturbing way)

You can practice BJ playing against dealer by yourself. Deal one dealer card up and one down, deal both of yours up, then play out your hand. Flip the dealer's down card and hit it if it's under 17 (this is casino rules, the one main variant with BJ, is some casinos dealer hits on "soft" 17 (ace and 8) others they don't). The only thing is if dealer is showing an ace or face card, you can't check for blackjack until you play out your hand.
  16. I really liked it...in fact, I think I liked it better than 2. It had all the elements I want in a Die Hard movie...ridiculous over-the-top action, unbelievable plot, and comedy relief (I remember there being lots of good lines). I could understand not liking it if you don't like Justin Long, but personally, I enjoy him. Sure, I'd rather it was rated R and filled with more cussing, violence, and sex...but heck, I want more of that in just about every movie!
  17. A T1 line should be much faster than that. Are you sharing a connection between a lot of computers? My bad...it's a fractional T-1...12 channels for data and 12 channels for voice. This is my work connection.
  18. Why in the world did they book them in the first place? To me, it sounds like someone was complaining about it for some reason and they made a knee-jerk reaction and cancelled em.
  19. I thought When Darkness Falls was pretty scary...it definitely re-kindled the old scared of the dark feelings you have as a kid. I've always found possession movies scary...I thought Exorcism of Emily Rose was pretty freakin creepy. The first Jeepers Creepers was fairly good (mostly more towards the beginning), especially when the kids first drive by and see the creature dropping the body down the shaft.
  20. - Several scenes in Falling Down (one of my all-time favs). The convience store scene when Douglas' character first start losing it. Also, the fast food restaurant scene..."but I want breakfast" - When Mel Gibson's char in Conspiracy Theory is getting brainwashed with his eyelids taped open and he bites off Patrick Stewart's nose, trying to escape while tied to a wheelchair.
  21. Tough to narrow down to 5, but... World of Warcraft (PC) Legend of Zelda (NES) Zelda Twilight Princess (Wii) Advance Wars (GBA) Medal of Honor (PC)
  22. Stupidity and criminals seem to go hand-in-hand. Remember the story a year or so ago, when a guy getting chased by police stopped to smoke some crack? I also read about an outlaw (I believe his name was Ketchum) in the late 1800's that robbed the same train at the same exact spot 4 times (on the 4th attempt the law was waiting for him). To top it, while he was in jail, his brother tried the same robbery again and was killed in the attempt.

Some add'l bands that come to mind: Oingo Boingo Gene Loves Jezebel General Public Siouxsie & the Banshees Soft Cell Depeche Mode (never liked em personally, but...) New Order Madness
