One aspect yet unconsidered...
Seriously ... BEST IDEA EVER (well at least one of the best ideas since the whole fiasco started) would solve a lot of issues brought up in this (and the other) thread. Make it so you can change ever 15 days or something.

One aspect yet unconsidered...
Maybe they could go back to way at the beginning of RSC and have PK/No PK status :P

Parse your adventure log to Twitter
After getting a few requests from people on how I parse my adventure log to Twitter I thought i'd write a little guide. So how do I get from this... ...to this... Note: I am going to assume you are already signed up to Twitter but if not it's easy just go to www.twitter.com and follow the instructions. Access your adventure log and locate the RSS feed url. Click the RSS icon which looks like an orange square with radio waves coming from the bottom left corner. Mine is at http://services.runescape.com/m=adventurers-log/rssfeed?searchName=Mercifull so basically just replace my user name for your own. You will need to register at a feed parsing site such as www.twitterfeed.com or www.dlvr.it. I used to use twitterfeed but now I use dlvr.it and this guide focusses on the one I am using now. When you have registered for this service you can then set up a feed. Add a new feed using the add route button from the control panel when you log in. You then get two boxes appear, the left hand one looks like this. Type in the name you want your feed to be called at the top of the box. This is no shown to anyone and it only used for your own benefit so you know which feed is which. I called mine "Adventure log: Mercifull" After you have done this click the +add button. Then click the 'New' option on the source option A large set of options then appears as shown below. In the box marked 'Feed URL * [?]' copy and paste the url of your adventure log feed. Make sure that 'Feed Active' is ticked Click the 'Feed update' tab for more options. Set the 'Feed Update Period' to something like every 30 minutes and the 'Max Number of Items to Post per Update Period' to something reasonable such as 2 or 3. You don't want to spam your dungeoneering escapades to everyone nonstop. It also stops multiple "I killed X mithril dragons" and stuff from parsing to your twitter account. In the 'Item Text' tab you get to choose some prefix and suffix text to accompany the feed. I have chosen [Adventure Log] but some other people use [RS] or [ALOG]. I then suffix the hashtag #advlog. I originally used #runescape but stopped and changed it to a different one as adventure logs were spamming the generic Runescape hashtag and it was getting difficult to know human posted Runescape tweets from automatic ones from the adventure log. I keep the #runescape tag for Tweets I write myself and use the #advlog one for my feeds. A lot of other people are unfortunately still using #runescape and If I catch you doing the same you might find yourself getting messages from people asking you to change it on a fairly regular basis. :P Lastly in this dialogue box if you select the 'Advanced' tab you can choose what parts of the feed get posted. I have chosen to use the summary content rather than the entire feed. The summary is this bit: "I helped Thorvar Crittersmash retrieve his items from a dungeon and saved the Heimland Games." The full feed is this: "Quest complete: O Little Town of Daemonheim. I helped Thorvar Crittersmash retrieve his items from a dungeon and saved the Heimland Games." Not only is it long but it also looks funny on some things, see example: "Hard treasure trail completed. I have completed a hard treasure trail." Looks a bit repetitive and wastes space. On Twitter you only get 140 characters and if it can't fit it will just cut off mid sentence and not show everyth... Then simply save source Now we move on to the second, right hand side, box. Click the +add button and a long list of sites you can send your feed to appears. The one we are interested in is at the top of the list. Select the new button next to the Twitter icon and the following box appears. When you click the 'Start Authorisation' button a new window will pop up from Twitter, if you are logged in already you will see the screen below and you can choose to 'allow'. If not you will be asked to log in first. When you have authorised access you can close the popup and check the last two tabs. In the 'Post Content' tab make sure that the 'Post Body' and 'Post link' boxes are checked. In the 'Advanced' tab turn off the Auto-hashtag placement and press save And there we go. Your Runescape adventure log will now start parsing to your Twitter account. If you have a [Censored - Don't use a URL shortner] account you can use the route settings to use that too as well as Google analytic code but this isn't necessary. Hope this guide helps. Post comments/corrections/etc here and I will fix if I need to. Mercifull

Wilderness and free trade vote! - Now Closed

Wilderness and free trade vote! - Now Closed
It's a very flawed voting system so it looks like its going to happen regardless of what people actually want. You cant vote 'no' and you don't even need to log in to validate that it's actually you. I can type anyone's names into the box and it will count regardless if they approve or not. My worry is that free trade will mean the GE either goes completely or becomes pointless so it's back to standing in falador spamming for hours on end trying to buy/sell stuff. It also means clues in wildy are going to be a right pain in the arse getting pked for the sake of a spade. My hopes for this are as follows: 1. Jagex has developed a new improved system to track trades outside of the GE to build a system that responds quickly to new items/massive demand but is not able to be manipulated at a whim by greedy people. 2. Wilderness will be on select worlds only. Revenants will remain on the rest of them as normal.

14-Dec-2010 - Damage Soaking and New Hitsplats
I dont think the soaking will work on Nomad. He has special attackes that hit you for set amounts and for LP-1 etc. Might be better for his other, regular, attacks though.

A level 8 with a Fire Cape
It's got absolutely NOTHING to do with Jagex making money from botters paying membership. It's clear that the number of bots is negligible compared to the number of people that actually play legitimately and Jagex recently canned Mechscape at a cost of £10m. They are a very successful business and certainly aren't scrounging for pennies. They don't need the membership from botters.

The Rollback Cover-up
I'd rather get perm bans, but the way I see it when Jagex used to ban and then people appealed they might have eventually got their character back. By resetting the stats if they do get a ban appeal approved then at least they dont have the unfairly gained levels.

Got my ddef on my 3rd kill then I left. Pointless wasting time and tokens fighting for spawns when it'll be dead in a few weeks.

The post about having to wear the mask is interesting. Perhaps you have to fight it completely without armour or jewellry too?

03-Dec-2010 - New Jagex Store
I actually really like this idea, I think it could be pulled off well. But people are complaining all of the t-shirts are just plain t-shirts with something slapped on it but if they're not going to go into deals with proper clothes companies, preferring to have cheap t-shirts easily done on spreadshirt, then it's just what you're to expect. The last two Jagex Stores WERE deals done with merchandise companies. Spreadshirt is just a mass on-demand printing company, nothing special at all.

03-Dec-2010 - New Jagex Store
Some of the designs are nice, but the spreadshirt quality tshirts aren't the best. They will just be bog standard tshirts printed on. They wont have the Runescape stitching that the old stuff had. You now cant buy membership cards, or books or other accessories like you used to. It's a definite downturn in the overall quality. I don't however have a problem wearing Runescape apparel. I'm not ashamed that I play, and hardly anyone knows what the Bandos symbol means anyway. To those moaning saying you are paying to advertise I hope you all wear nothing but plain white tees because if you wear Nike, Bench and North Face clothing (for example) you are all human billboards too.

It does seem odd that there wasnt a monkey graphical update though. The new monkey in Varrock is updated like summoning pets, why not the others?

Jagex is planning to make a brand new MMORPG?
Unfortunately games like WoL is classified as an MMO. We also know Jagex is also working on a new game called Eight Realms

JaGeX Killed a Patent Troll
A victory in a battle that should never have taken place. MS should NEVER have settled with a troll. It's like paying ransom to pirates, everyone knows full well they put that money into gearing up for more attacks.

9-Nov-2010 - Bank Op and Equip Screen Update (BOAESU)
If that's a Dr. Who reference, it's a pretty terrible one, since "Are you my Mummy" is a stock pun that's used in pretty much every work that ever had mummies in it, so it doesn't actually have anything to do with Dr. Who. It's got nothing to do with mummy in the Egyptian sense. You clearly have not seen the episode that this references.
