You need more than just open space to have room for human life. These people also need to be fed and clothed, and that takes resources. If all it took was space, Africa wouldn't be in the situation it was in now. The earth is reaching a breaking point when it comes to natural solutions. If we keep breeding, we are going to have to sacrifice a lot of our luxury just to keep the earth alive. Frankly, I'm glad that some people have the common sense not to put another kid on this earth.

Just finished watching Season 4 again. The season finale is probably my favourite Futurama episode.

When I want to make eggs, I usually make them with ham or bacon. The trick to aesthetically pleasing eggs is patience. I usually turn the stove way up, then drop the meat in when the pan is hot. Sear for just a few seconds to make sure it doesn't turn too dry, then drop in the eggs and immediately turn down the heat about halfway down. Then just wait until the eggs solidify. Nothing ruins eggs like moving them too soon. It should take a few minutes for the eggs to solidify enough. Once they're done you can flip them over for a few seconds to sear the other side shut or just remove it from the pan completely.

Well, beat the league with my entire party (on the last page) at lvl ~55. The only change I made was Dialga for Drifblim. It ended up being the right move. I went up against Cynthia's lvl 66 Garchomp, and if Dialga's Roar in Time didn't beat it in one hit it'd've wiped my entire team.

The problem is, not everyone started of with Piplup. :I did, actually. My team: Empoleon (Surf, Brine, Blizard, Earthquake) Weavile (Ice Beam, Shadow Claw, Dark Pulse, Nasty Plot) Rapidash (Agility, Poison Jab, Flamethrower, Fire Blast) Luxray (Agility, Thunder, Charge, Discharge) Drifblim (Thunderbolt, Shadow Ball, Thunder Wave, Double Team) Drapion (Toxic, Toxic [bleep]es, Earthquake, Sludge Bomb) I know the team would suck if I took it online, but this is strictly for the game itself. Once I get wifi and the national dex I'll catch/breed myself a proper team.

Still training for Elite 4 in Diamond, but some of my pok̮̩̉̉mon (mainly Rapidash and Weavile) are really hard to train due to their type...

Ok, might as well ask this here - what's with the hissy fits over the position of the toilet seat? I thought it was a stereotypical American sitcom thing, but now my housemate is asking the guys to put the seat down as well. Appearantly that half a second of movement is too much for her. She was banging on my door the other day when I had forgotten to put it down afterwards, and then she got all huffy when I asked why I shouldn't ask her to put the seat up for me.

A few years ago we were playing football in a field, and the ball got kicked over an electrified fence. My friends would put their feet on the bottom wire so I could crawl under it. On my way back one of them let their foot slip and the bottom rope sprung up against my stomach, so I kind of bounced around on the fence for a while until they pulled me out. Since then I've always been kinda skittish around electrified fences and such.

I had to write my first scientific article this year, and during the writing classes one of the first things they told us was not to use Wikipedia as a source. I still managed to find plenty of helpful stuff there, and like others said, plenty of directions to sources that I was allowed to use.

My parents live in a village that was in the middle of the most heavily hit area of Holland. Because there are dozens of farms in the area with forests in between that have a lot of animals that can transfer the disease (mainly wild boars), the area pretty much shut down. I was working in a zoo that decided to just shut down for the summer and nearly went bankrupt. If they got hit again in any serious way, I probably couldn't even visit them as I live on the other end of the country.

So many sitcoms are horribly overrated. I have yet to laugh watching Friends. Six goodlooking young people in New York? I'm sorry, but I don't see the hilarity. The only sitcom that really made me care about the people involved while still being genuinely funny was M*A*S*H.

The Pakistani president is a puppet player, keeping the ghost of Islamist extremism alive in his country to justify his own stranglehold on the country to his western buddies. He could probably crush them all in a few weeks if he actually tried, but then he could no longer keep his precious uniform on. The only question is how long he can keep up the balancing act before either side grows too strong to control.

I'm glad I didn't have too high hopes for the whole thing. The only time I really laughed out loud was when Homer pretended to have a chainsaw.

I'll be getting it too... I played System Shock 2 to death.
