Unless there is another person there, I always right click the pile to see what the best stuff is (it doesn't happen very often, of course, but I know that's what I do when it does). As for giving the stuff back...unless they're a considerably lower level then me and they'd definitely need it more then I did, then finders keepers :-X

hmm, when i see a death pile, i don't normally think, just run towards it...

i guess if i had to explain it, if there was anyone around i'd click right next to the pile to run there then right click to check out the items. If it's just me there, I click on the top item and then right click to see the other loot

as for give-backs, if i happened to see who died (aside from pking), i'll turn chat on for a bit and see if they pm me, if not, i keep it, if they do, i'll give back the majority but keep a bit as a tip (give whip back keep glory) \'

If i saw someone die I'd right click. When the dungon of tolna was one of the best places to train i went down there one time, I got full rune, d long, glory, wealth, warrior helment, and 10 rune arrows. He had a few shark but i didn't get it in time. If I right clicked I would have got something better. He had to have better stuff than rune. Thats why you should right click always.

I was barrowing today on my third run. While searching for the treasure room, all of a sudden I see rune platebody lying on the floor next to the door. I start clickin like a mad man cause I didnt see the owner die. Rune Plate body, legs; Mystic hat, boots and gloves; Full Black dhide set, Dragon Mace, Glory, Ring of wealth (proves it was a noob) and 58 Addy arrows.

So after I click thru all that gear, I see shark but it fades away. My discussion is this?

Should I have right clicked to see if anything obvious for the taking is available first?

Does the pile get sorted in any kind of order (high to low value)?

Was sorry I didn't see the owner. Might have been good opportunity to make a new friend. Didnt get jack when I searched the chest but 200k worth of goodies is nice reward. But I sure hate merchanting.

always right click because the pile thingy is just random

it isnt random i goes from high to low based on high alch/shop price

like this:

guth spear

glory

wealth

phat

santa

Unless you know the person, I would keep the stuff.

Also, death piles are random except for the top item...the top item is always the item worth the most.

If you die and i see your pile can you say "free stuff plox?" - For Strangers

If you die and I'm your friend or part of my monster killing group I'll give it to them back

My friends got some lucky stuff from death piles (rangers boots, fury, blk cav, etc.)

I think the guth spear would be lower in the pile becuase it is at 0. Not sure though, it was near the bottom when I found one.

Also, with a pile(pure ess, sharks) It will show one item, then pure ess will fill the rest of it. Once you take the top item, another one comes up.(Like, when I found a santa, I had to take full green dhide and glory before the santa appeared over p ess.)

If someone else dies I'll loot stuff as quick as possible.

If it's my own death pile (if I were edge PKing per-say) I'd grab fire cape/attack cape first.

If it's a PK, I automatically screenshot.

EDIT: 500th post.

even if im not in the wilderness, sometimes the first thing is do is hit protect from melee, reflex action i guess. ::'

i usually grab the top item, then right click to look for any of the "valuable to people, worthless to shops" items, AKA fremenik rings and other goodies like infinity boots.

if i see them and catch their name (and i didnt kill them) i'll PM them and give... most of it back.

Hey, they died, im not obliged to give anything back, so they should be gratefull for what they do get back.

usually the most expensive drop is at the very top, eg whip, and if you right click u will see whip Full shark, but once u take the whip and right click again, u will see the next most expensive thing then full shark. etc.

but there is exceptions, i think rune plate would show up over ahrims, i duno about your junk items though.
