There is less difference between them, then like between Iron Maiden and Slipknot! Another name for 'Metal with screamy lyrics' then? Metalica and Iron maiden are both heavy metal. Slipnot is metalcore. The tough thing is there are so many genres that have 'screaming lyrics' in them. Death metal, black metal, doom metal to name a few. However they have said themselves that they started as a thrash metal band and their current stuff is extreme metal with old black, death and classical heavy metal influences.
