Maybe if Jagex releases a new, and better obby weapon, then the onyx prices might rise. But the useless onyx necklaces and bracelets really did screw the prices over.

Well, I agree with both viewpoints sort of. We did work hard for our furies, and I know the feeling, being a fury owner myself. However, we have an inherent risk when we buy the furies that they may go down for one reason or another. I always suspected the onyx bracelet would be given an enchant, and as such, felt a certain amount of risk. When I heard about bracelets, my uncertainty was confirmed. I wondered if the onyx bracelet would have any practical application, and as such, I was sure my fury would dip in price. That was a risk I was willing to take. I think it's worth the price drop with its ravishing good looks, and hot combat stats. All in all, we took a risk when buying it. We knew the price would go down, because it really can't go up. And because of this I really have no feelings on the fury drop.

Why? Releasing a new obby weapon with stats weaker than even d scimmy won't even encourage the population to start getting onyx necklaces.

 

But the useless onyx necklaces and bracelets really did screw the prices over.

True to a small extent but you see after the jewellery update, furies have only went down by about 200k in price, caused by the increase of fury entering the market where the population decided that the onyx they have saved up before the update are still better off used for fury compared to the other two. The real factor contributing to decline in fury prices is the karamja gloves, allowing cheaper and others methods to obtain that gem, hence resulting in more furys entering the market and disrupting the balance of demand and supply for furies.

It hasnt been verified, But you can get them for 2.2 or 2.3 in rune ores with new gloves is a theory :-k

I have heard that you can sell ores to the store for 1.1K tokkul each. That's more than 2.3M i believe

...sold my veracs for a fury and 100k a week before update..then traded for stone...could have sold stone on sunday for 5.6ish bc everybody wanted one...cant get on computer bc parents lock it...finaly get on to see furies at like 4.6....next update....furies start at 4.6 on tuesday morning and by the afternoon you are lucky to get 3.9...prices still dropping...

 

 

 

this forced me to sell my cannon and buy some p ess...im currently crafting 8k laws...hopefully jagex wont come out with a free law machine...because all my monies is in the stupid onyx stone, a couple k laws, and the ess i havent crafted yet..

reason the price went up is ther is shortage of obby weps, or the slower rs community finally found out that ppl could buy a fury for 1.5m at the current maul prices..

I dont see why everyone is upset about loosing money. If you train with a fury, you get more xp per hour, and if you have the money to blow why not get one?

 

 

 

I bought my fury for over 6.5m when they came out, and i still dont regret buying it.

 

 

 

By the way, the reason they went back up to over 4m, is due to the large stock that was saved before the gem update is running low. You will see them stabalize soon :

..before using the maul method it took 40 mauls. thats a 900k profit if you buy for 100k ea but its easier to get for 110-120. and at 120k ea your profit is cut down to 100k if you sold for 4.9.

 

 

 

and the buying chaos way never was the amazing way to go as you could always sell the runes themselvs for a higher profit.

 

 

 

oh and random fact of my day..or morning..using super energies and 3 pouches you can make 1.2k+ laws ea hr using the balloon and ring to c wars method..

rares are a lil different that items that can be brought into the game daily tho.. I paid 12m for my whip way back when still have that same whip and whip prices are what 1.6m now? thats a nice amt of cash in the toliet but i do not care 1 bit.. That whip made WAAAAAY more than i lost buyin it ages ago.. Rares go up go down and back up again.. Like i've said many times about santas they are very stable and not worth my time to invest in anymore... But i bet if you keep your santas in a couple months the price will shoot up over 23m per and you'll have yourself a nice profit..

Good thing I already have 4 santas, mask set and a green though :)

actually, I wasted 1.6M doing that. The prices with new gloves start at about 1.1K-1.5K tokkul each, but soon after selling, they spiral down to about 600 each, and it ceases to be worth it.

Why is it that the common mindset on RS is that anything that you buy has to go UP in price? Is the merchanting/profiteering instinct that widespread?

 

 

 

When you buy a car do you think it goes up in price? Or do you resent the buyer that can buy it for less when its older and used?

 

 

 

If you buy an item not for the purpose of using it but for selling at a profit, you should be willing to suffer losses when the price drops. That is the risk of merchanting just as you risk losing items when you take them into the wildy.

 

 

 

Alternately, one can use the item that you bought for its intended purpose and not care what you spent on it since at the time of buying it, you obviously felt that its features were worth the price you paid.

It's pretty obvious that Jagex has been having one main goal for Runescape lately.

 

Make it Noob-friendly. They're, through updates, lowering prices of the wanted armour to give "everyone a good chance" at getting them. In other words, spoiling the game for high lvls who worked hard for it, and making it more attractive to F2p'ers, making them want to sign up for members this summer. Oh well, I can't say I'm surprised. Money > fun.

I'm pretty sure Jagex did that on purpose, so that furies would become cheaper. I doubt they liked how high the price was standing at.

The price fall is acceptable, but i was expecting maybe another decent onyx item to come with it, rather than the new gloves.
