vilageidiotx
I don't find it hard to quit, ive done it when i needed to shift my attention to other things(college, a few harder classes have diverted my attention 100%). I find it easy to quit if you fish for a month straight, that had killed my interest for months a while back. Some people are like slinkies, normally they are dull, but they always give you a smile when you push them down a flight of stairs.
eyehawk78
I guess it boils down to how easy it is to play if you get urge (dont need to install from a disc) and the fact there are weekly updates with something new to do. There is also a hell of a lot of different skills to raise and if you make the effort to get your skills to a decent level you dont want to make it all seem like a waste. In game friends are also a factor. Looks like Andrew Gower had a very smart idea when he created this game :-k Website Updates & Corrections | Website Discussion
The_13th_Apostle
When we find something life that we find desirable, our mind slowly forms an attatchment to it that eventually can turn into addiction. When you are addicted to something, you often face severe mental (and sometimes physical) stress when you suddenely stop doing that thing. The only way to completely sever the mental connection is to ease into it and slowly weene yourself off it until you've stopped completely. This is a lot harder for some than others, but anyone can overcome an addiction if they stay committed and really set their mind to it. ^Thanks Lil_Atza!I love the smell of napalm in the morning. ... Sumpta
N0valyfe went from playing 10+ hours a day to suddenly quitting. If he can do it, anyone can to be honest. Yes, but he had accomplished everything in the game... I shudder to think how many hours I have played RS and what other things I could have done with my time. The trouble is, I set goals, and they just keep getting more difficult to get. If a year ago, someone had told me I'd be hitting 1900 total, I'd have said they were crazy. That I'd never spend such an insane amount of time on the game. Yet, I am now only 7 levels short of the total. Evil, evil game. However, I don't really have much trouble staying away from it for days, sometimes weeks. It's just that I keep coming back when I have the spare time. I suppose the last ever goal he had is to have higher total exp than the number 1 player? However, that is 100m exp off and i guess struggling for it pointless? Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.
unorclan
Its hard to quit RS simply because of the mental awareness of enojoying the game so when you are bored Runescape autimatically comes to mind and therefore you go and play it. Even if your getting bored with it you'll still have that memory back in your mind of once enjoying it and thats why you keep going back. I heard one guy say that because people who go to Mcdonalds and go all their lives is because their parents took them when they were children and as adults they have that litttle memory back in their minds that they enjoyed it back then and they unconciously think they will again enjoy it as adults. nikoli40
Easy answer to that. All I did was play runescape, so when I quit, I had nothing to do. I'd get bored and be like, ok I'll just go on and say hi to a few ppl. Next thing you know I'm back playing...Happened every single time... xpx
I have been playing RS for almost 5 years now, and in that time I have 'quit' Runescape twice, the first lasting 10 months, the second lasting 6 months. Many other people seem to have this problem, they quit Runescape and within a few months there back playing again. I have even noticed a few posts on 'X is leaving Runescape' topics where people have posted 'No-one quits Runescape, they all come back eventually'. Which got me wondering, what makes Runescape so difficult to actually never play again? runescape is hard to quit because you have no character. everyone can quit smoking, it̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâôs just how bad they want to quit smoking. frankfrank222
I quit RS last August and I have no intentions of going back to it. I had a level 121 character with about 1700+ skill total so I had put alot of time and effort onto it.
meb
It's not hard to quit if you want to quit it, but I personally don't want to quit. It doesn't have any negative impact on my life and if I want to stop playing for a while I just set myself an agility goal or don't renew my members. Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks. Final_Mercy
it's like the previous people said, it's the goals and achievements maid i find that it's all the time wasted and what makes people come back is probably when they have nothing to do, why not go outside and try to make a difference or something and put your mind to something resourceful You are not alone, Our Father, God will always be with you.
