I guess thats cool, I support the ranged update even though I'm melee, it will keep rangers a little busy for a while, so they can release more melee :D happy happy

c-bows will never be powerful enough to make up for thier slow speed, the whole point of range is to hit low quickly, even the enchanted bolts weren't that great to popularize c-bows, probbably because u need gems.

In the perfect world they would update the speed before the power of c bows but my guess is they'll more than likely up the amount of damage that bolts will be able to hit. My fingers are crossed to get a crossbow with a special like the msb in the near future. =P~

If normal crossbows were faster they would be tanking, I could hit 18's with mith bolts un potted and not praying so if the speed got up it could be better than a msb

The only thing that could fix XBows is a speed increase... They shoot like longbows and the bolt effects NEVER happen when you really need them to.

Well, I don't think the Dark bow is a Cross bow. Crossbow has metal. It would be a Dragon Crossbow. They made a Dark Bow because there are no metal bows. Thats my assumption.

the only way i will be excited about the crossbow update is if the speed gets increased. if not, then i dont see the point of a slow, yet more powerful crossbow.

Imagine being able to control when the effect of the enchanted bolt would take place, i.e. as in a xbow spec ;)

i'd be happy if they just increased the chance of specing, those d fire bolts were fun as hell. :-w

I hope that the Onyx bolt special gets updated.

i dont think so, like people have already said. Dragon arrows and darts, not bolts.

And about onyx spec, if they just increased the likelyhood of a special hit, there could be a form of ranged guthans. Even better, arrow thieves cannot see them as they are untradable.

you can make from 1k rubys 12k ruby bolt tips...

 

you can make from 1.2k addy bars and 12k feather 12k addy bolts...

 

you can make from 12k ruby tips and 12k addy bolts 12k ruby tipped bolts...

 

you can enchant those 12k ruby tipped bolts with 1,2k cosmics...

 

 

 

total cost for a ownage type of bolts:

 

2.000.000/12.000 = 167gp

 

2.400.000/12.000 = 200gp

 

240.000\12.000= 20gp

It's not going to be a crossbow, they said they were coming out with dragon ARROWS not BOLTS.

now mages will say magic is underpowered :wall: :XD:

when I thought of the dark bow I did think of a cbow, that shot arrows. :P

 

but yeah I await more powerful cbows much.

It might include a Magic Log in powering up crossbows (Magic Log mentioned in Range Guild)

 

 

 

It will speed firing rates up (due to the number of rants/suggestions on this)

1, wont happen or at least not a good speed increase

 

2, has nothing much to do with this, but okay i guess it would be nice for already non crowded spots to get better, i love that kind of stuff.

 

3, unless its a 10% drain this would be lame, i think they should make the effect hit like the emerald super poison bolts hit when they were release, you generally got a 3 to 5 effect ratio. double all the effect consistency, triple the low lvl bolt consistency's

My main problem with the xbow is that they are so slow that bolts on ground disappear before u get to pick them up. Happens any time I am rangin dragons (why not since u can wield the shield for safety).

 

 

 

Other problem is u cant trade enchanted bolts. So needless to say I rarely bother to use the weapon. The best wpn is only +45 ranging for rune version.

 

 

 

I sell rune xbows after every steel dragon assignment for slayer since they drop rune limbs.
